Okay. I am not here to lie to you people. I try to do some research before trying a new Chinese place to save myself from hours on the toilet. Granted there were only four reviews, this seemed like the best place within the vicinity I was willing to drive at the time(I’m lazy AF) –The worst thing I read was the woman who answered the phone was rude. I can deal with rude, as long as the food is bomb. I called to place my order. Sunshine lived up to her name, was completely rude right off the bat. I felt as if I was bothering her. As if I called the moment she was about to finish knitting her latest blanket, and I set back the process or something. Can I just get my eggroll, and LoMein without a hassle? Sunny had other plans. There is nothing I love more than hole-in-the-wall Chinese food. But this takes ‘Hole-In-The-Wall’ to the next level. The place(Don’t know what else to call it) had one dirty table, with a noodle and grains of fried rice cemented to the table since I’m assuming: The Cold War. A little box of old books, as if I want to sit back and catch up on my reading. There were piled boxes throughout the entire area(Piled to the ceiling), I basically needed climbing gear to reach the register to pay, and get my food. Sunshine was surprisingly nice in person, so I forgave her little outburst on the phone 10 minutes earlier and decided to give her a second chance. I get home, and the food was disgusting. The LoMein was soggy, the egg roll was sub par, and the Boneless Spare Ribs lunch special was basically a container of old rice, with some spare ribs plopped on top. I am not a picky eater by any means, especially when it comes to Chinese food. Ming Garden in Bethel is by far the best in the Danbury/Bethel/New Milford area. I can’t find anywhere in Danbury that does it up better.

The food is pretty decent, but they’re very unfriendly and condescending. Ordering from this place is kind of like petting a dog after it pooped on your carpet; you shouldn’t feed into the bad behavior, but decide«whatever.» There are several children there, and they are who you mainly do business with. Normally I couldn’t care less, but they’re equally as rude to you as [who I’m assuming is] their mother, which makes you feel a little awkward. All in all, the food is slightly above average for the area and the prices are fair, coming here will just cost a little of your self worth.

This place is a straight Chinese take out. They deliver, even on the worst, most snowy days. With that said, the food is mediocre to bad. They use the same woks over and over again and most of the food tastes like metal. This is a straight up, Chinese take out place. You aren’t eating there. If you are in a pinch and you need some Wonton Soup or Rice, go for it. That stuff is ok. If you need actual food and you don’t need delivery go to: Panda House, Jeffrey’s or Moon Star(in that order). Any of those guys will have much better food at about the same price. Panda House is busy but the food is consistently great. Jeffrey’s is the best takeout in Connecticut. Moon Star is good if you are in a hurry and don’t have a ton of cash(but the food is tasty and consistent). China King manages to give me a stomach ache every time I’ve eaten even a bite. And I’ve eaten their food more than once(over a period of 12 years, probably 15 times). Go drive a little further unless you are REALLY in a pinch.

I only had soups but they were both good. Hot and sour as well as wonton soup.
