Excellent staff and both Dr. Goerig and his wife Jessica are pros at what they do! If you want beautiful hair and skin Dr. Goerig is the doctor to visit. I can’t wait to visit them in their new office in Newport Beach.

I am not a regular Unilocal reviewer, but I felt this was very important. I was very pleased at first of the friendly and professional staff. I had an appointment to check on a few moles I was concerned about. Long story short… Instead of scraping all areas at the same time an appointment was made for each one. I was told that this was because Dr. Goerig didn’t want my body to be in a lot of pain. In actuality, it was so the office could bill my insurance 3 times and I would pay a co-​pay 3 times. Now comes the burning of the moles. I went in the office for the first one and waited a few weeks for the other two. At the next visit I insisted on the remaining two to be done at the same time. A few months go by and I received a bill from the office. Apparently, the removal of a mole (freezing by the way) is considered surgery. This is a $ 150.00 co pay. My insurance company says that when the office called for preapproval, they were supposed to tell me about the co-​pay. Of course they never did. So I am now stuck with a bill for the freezing and removal. They charged my insurance $ 1101.00 and received payment of $ 578.00, plus $ 70.00 for my office visit copay. Now I owe them over $ 200.00 more. Seriously? To freeze a few moles???

I visited the doctor to remove a wart on my face. After he removed it, he told me that the healing would take at least two months and that it could scar and/​or leave a little whole. If he would have told me this upfront, I would have never had it done. He verbally told me directions as to how to care for it and when I was walking out, the receptionist gave me directions that were not in keeping with what the doctor said. I was very frustrated when I left. That night I called because I was upset with the doctor for not telling me upfront what could happen with this as well as the healing time and that I got the wrong instructions. The next day, I never received a callback from the doctor, who obviously didn’t care, I called and spoke to the office manager who claimed she left a voice message that I never got. On top of that, she defended the office and was not sympathetic. She said she would email me the directions and never did. She said she would call in a week to check up on me and never did. All I can say is I would never recommend this office to anybody.

Doctors work is good, staff is friendly. They need to improve on front office and paperwork and follow-​up reports when they send test to pathology. Need some work, could ultimately be better as long as they improve on follow-​up and billing.

I am not a regular Unilocaler, but I feel compelled to write a review about my experience today with Vorteil Dermatology. Dr. Goerig is professional and knowledgeable with a calming demeanor. He removed a growth from my face and the procedure was quick and painless. The receptionist Jessica has personality plus. She is competent and a pleasure to deal with. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the office is immaculate with a beautiful view of the ocean. This was by far the best doctor’s office experience I’ve had. I’ll be going back soon for some facial rejuvenation. I highly recommend Vorteil Dermatology and Dr. Goerig.

Excellent facility. Helpful staff. No «waiting 4 months to get in» like most OC dermatologists. Non-​paper medical history /​survey. Thorough examination in the most scenic doctor’s office I’ve ever visited. Dr. Ryan provided a Superb medical diagnosis that has addressed my chronic dermatological issue better than any previous skin specialist, OTC cream, acupuncture, homeopathy or alternative medicine was able to do in years of trying, for a chronic condition which is now 90% better (in just 5 days!!). And next week when I go back, I anticipate it will be 99% or 100% better. Dr. Ryan asks great questions, has a great patient affect & is very engaging. His staff called in the Rxs to my local CVS saving me a significant amount of time — and when I picked up the meds, the CVS Pharmacist reinforced my positive impression with her unsolicited comment «He is good doctor, I fill prescriptions for him before… very good.»
The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating was the initial contact with the office got stuck in a phone-​service answering loop, where for 2 days I was initially unable to speak with anyone directly from Vorteil Dana Point during business hours. This was confounded by my insurance preferred provider listing Dr. Goerig not as «Vorteil» but as «Dr. Goerig, Dermatology». To further confuse a new patient, the Selva road location — which is tremendously convenient as I am at Strand Beach many times each week — doesn’t list Dr Goerig’s name on their lobby’s list of businesses. But once I Was able to speak with a helpful staff member, and was assured that Dr. Goerig handles all men’s skin issues, not just cosmetic concerns, and he’s well versed in the wide spectrum of various dermatological symptoms, and that Vorteil and Dr. Goerig’s practice are not two different entities to resolve that perceived initial disconnect, then everything lined up and was copacetic.
I am a very happy patient, who has seen a significant improvement in a short amount of time, solving a skin problem that had been ruining my Summer and Fall. I highly recommend Dr Goerig’s practice to anyone who is looking for a skilled, efficient, intelligent, focused, experienced, effective, available South Orange County Dermatologist.

I heard about Vorteil from a friend who was able to make a derm appointment on a Saturday and said that the team was great. I had a small growth on my face I wanted evaluated, so I gave them a ring. My appointment was at 6pm on a Friday. I was so thankful for the after hours accommodation. They looked at the growth, was able to remove it right then. He said there would be a very small dent, but it turns out there was no sign of anything in a few days due to the doctor’s great work! What was even greater is that he followed up with 3 phone messages to make sure I was managing with any pain and to inform me of any lab results. GREAT SERVICE.
While I was there, I also did an anti-​aging program, administered by Jessica. WOW. Painless, gentle and very well done. I was very happy with the results as well as the advice given at the consultation!

I heard about Vorteil from a friend who had a laser procedure there (he got awesome results). I needed a bit of facial rejuvenation b/​c of the sun damage I got skiing. The center is awesome because they specialize in men’s skin and the procedure room I was in was overlooking Strand beach-​amazing view. I had a wrinkle filler treatment and a laser, which honestly took like 5 years off my face. The dermatologist I saw knows his stuff and is really cool. I don’t look different, just so much less burned out. Super satisfied with experience and result.

I’m not kidding when I say that my experience at Vorteil with Dr. Goerig was one of the best doctor visits I’ve had… Jessica at the front desk was so friendly and sweet. Their facility is state of the art, immaculate, and comfortable. They have both a women’s center and men’s center. They offer free skin cancer screening. Dr. Goerig was extremely professional and knowledgeable, but also very personable and friendly. upon checking out, we received a gift bag with sunscreen and other lotions! I highly recommend you try Vorteil and Dr. Goerig

WOW… such AMAZING customer service. Dr Ryan saw me on short notice outside of business hours… AND I had never seen them before. His precious wife also was super accomodating, and she just had a BABY! (10 days ago). I have a special place in my heart for the family who works together… AND have such great customer service. Thanks Goerigs!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Ryan Goerig and his wife Jessica at a local event in Dana Point. I got to speak with them about their new practice and they opened my eyes to why dermatology is equally as important to men as women. I ended up contacting Vorteil to schedule an appointment for a skin cancer screening and consult on a small blemish/​scar on my face. The office is spectacular. Very clean and modern with a masculin vibe.
Dr. Goerig himself is as nice as they come! He is very friendly and makes you comfortable by explaining his actions as he goes. He is an open book of knowledge when it comes to any questions or concerns you may have with your skin or hair. The small procedure that I had done was 100% pain free thanks to Dr. Goerig and the results are great.
Do yourself a favor and make an appointment. Its worth your time.

Simply the best! Thorough and up to date on the latest in skin health. Was able to diagnosis and cure my chronic dry and red skin, when other dermatologists just told me to use cetaphil lotion. Could not be happier and have never looked better!
