Quest Diagnostics

We took my 1 year old son here to get some blood drawn to test for him for a food allergy. My wife and I were nervous since our son absolutely hates to be examined let alone have his blood taken. When we arrived, the place was empty which was good because there was no waiting. The staff was friendly and, although my son cried, the blood draw only took a few minutes and was very smoothly and professionally done. Thank you for making a difficult experience easier for us.

I’m writing this review in hopes that the upper management will see it and make a change. This office is SO SLOW. Its not the employees fault. Someone in upper management needs to tweak the processes or hire more employees. Its SO painful to a) wait and b) see there’s a way it could be better.

Staff is always quick, extremely nice, always smiling and professional. Not sure where these other reviews are coming from. There are quest locations all over the place. If ones busy take the 5 minute drive to the next.

This place has been EXTREMELY under staffed for years now. I don’t understand how a place that is so busy has such little staff. Today one person was working. She worked the front desk, then took blood in the back. Usually they have at least two people. Walked in at 9:30am on a Tuesday morning and am still waiting (it’s now 11:00am) and still have about 6 people ahead of me. This place is worst than the DMV. I always walk in with a smile and still get major attitude from the staff. Like other people mentioned, I’m sure I would be a huge bitch too if I was as understaffed as this place was haha. Only reason why I’m giving them two stars is because they always find my vein and it never hurts when they do take my blood. Other than that… total nightmare.

This is worse than the DMV and they clearly don’t care. Staff look like they’d rather be anywhere but here helping you.
At least pretend you care.
If you can find somewhere else avoid this place. It’s been like this every time I come.

Disgusting front desk woman. Will NEVER go to this quest again, maybe not even a quest in general. The people who draw the blood are so sweet, but this front receptionist is HORRIBLE. Stay so far away.

My 72 year old grandmother went to Quest Diagnostics at the Monarch Bay Plaza in Dana Point today to get routine bloodwork done. For the past 15 years, I or my mother have gone with her and we have always been treated rudely by the receptionist at the front desk; today neither of us could not accompany her, and this receptionist made a point of acting upon this «opportunity» to verbally assault my grandmother to a horrendous new extreme. My grandmother walked up to the front desk (slowly and painfully; as a result of her rheumatoid arthritis, it pains her to walk and she cannot even stand without shaking violently and needing the help of her cane). She wanted to write her name on the clipboard at the front desk so that she wouldn’t have to sit down and go through the unnecessary physical pain of getting up an extra time before her appointment.
One would think that this is not a huge issue, and furthermore would be encouraged by the staff at a blood test clinic who usually deals with patients of her age, but the response of this receptionist was of quite the opposite tone. The receptionist (I’m not sure of her name, but she has long black/​brown hair and a dark complexion) condescendingly asked my grandmother to sit down and come back to sign her name later. My grandmother asked if it would be okay to just sign her name while she was already at the desk. The receptionist’s idea of a professional response was to yell at her, tell her that «she always does this» and «she is disrupting the other patients in the room» (there were only five other people in the room, sitting down and minding their own business). She continued to insult her for the remainder of her time in the waiting room. The receptionist finished her rant by taking away the paper from my grandmother before she could sign it.
My grandmother was so shaken by this experience that she went home in tears. For anyone to be treated like my grandmother was treated today is an atrocity and I expect some sort of action to be taken so that this employee is held accountable. I don’t want her to lash out at my grandmother or anyone else who is simply trying to get bloodwork taken and clearly has their health and other matters to be preoccupied. They shouldn’t need to worry about the receptionist at their clinic verbally assaulting them. I expect to hear from Quest Diagnostics within the next several days on what action will be taken.

RUDE! Just a drop-​off, but was treated with such discourtesy that I wouldn’t dare have blood drawn or any procedure there.

OMG… So glad I just read all these reviews. I was stabbed by the Golfball lady as well and hoped it was just a one time thing… I felt dizzy and thought I would pass out. I get blood drawn ALL THE TIME… Chemo destroyed veins and I asked her to use a small needle. When I was not looking she Stabbed me with a big needle and I just about jumped out of the chair in pain. I yelled at her and asked, «what are you doing… I told you to use a spider needle!» She looked at me like I was the crazy one? I told her she should be ashamed of herself!
I considered going tomorrow and hoping another tech would be there but after reading all of these posts… I think I will try another lab! Get a new Tech Quest before someone has long term damage and you get sued!

QUEST DO YOU READ THESE? STAY AWAY! I’ve been dealing with this Quest since ⁷⁄₁₃ as it is closer to home. I should have complained straight off re: front desk attendant & claims to be on site mgr. But I gave her &cold blood lady several more X’s Until this week, I’ve done a full complaint at which Quest just phoned me, apparently are aware of her laxidazial methods of handling customers life’s matters &will be re-​training her. I reminded him she was re-​trained last October, as I by chance was there on that day. He recommends I try their new Lag. Niguel Quest… I just read their Unilocal,NO WAY!

Just over a bad experience at this facility. Had blood drawn there and within the next 2 minutes the area in my arm looked like it had grown an enormous purple golf ball and was bleeding quite badly. The bandage popped off due to the pressure, so I called to another tech who was present and tried to show it to her. Her reply was «Go home and take care of it. Put some ice on it». I asked if they had ice there, and she repeated «No, go home and do it!». Just looking at it made me feel like I was going to faint and it was apparent that I was quite shook. Not their concern. Wow! Talk about lack of patient care! Not even an explanation of why it happened or if this is normal, an «are you feeling okay?», or «maybe you should sit down for a bit».
I’ve had a lot of tons of blood draws in my life and rounds of chemo and never had an incident like this between myself and a needle. Will never step foot in their door again…
