Established in 2014.

Founded in Southern California, J. Nessa began in 2014 by two women. A stylist with years of experinece and a pioneer from the surf business. Both saw that there was a need for more fashion in fitness, J. Nessa was created.

Meet the Business Owner

Jean B.

Business Owner

Prior to co-​founding J. nessa, Jean was making a difference in the garment world. After attending college in St. Louis, Missouri and spending over 10 years in sales, merchandising and corporate buying for May Department Stores, (now known as Federated Department Stores), Jean decided to shift gears and move to California to work in the active lifestyle industry. For several years she was VP of Sales and Merchandising for Hobie Apparel, Off Shore Clothing Company and also GM of O’Neill USA.

Using these experiences, Jean branched off to create her own consulting business, consisting of a team to focus on product design, merchandising and the production of active lifestyle apparel. Some of her customers included: O’Neill Canada, Lassen, Bula, Pac Sun, Maui Nix Clothing Company, Fox Racing and Ron Jon Surf Shops.

While Jean was consulting she worked with Wilson Sporting Goods, in the racquet sports/​apparel division for seven years. This gave her the experience of working with an inter
