I’ve been meaning to go to a Tutti Frutti, but never was near enough one to enjoy it. Yes, it’s a fun experience. Yes, this place is clean. Yes, it’s in a strip mall. Yes, there are few people around. However, as I was there, the staff were, yes, very friendly. They offered for me to try a sample. I think if I had wanted to sample 6 items they would’ve let me. This would’ve been a great strategy, but there were only two that I was interested in trying. I am not a fan of sorbet, so I though to try it before adding to my massive paper container for yogurt goodness. It was alright, so passing that over, I just filled with a base of nondairy soy yogurt. I love that they mark on the machines which ones are dairy and nondairy. Kudos– awesome. However, the other items are not marked for your toppings as nondairy or gluten free, but… if you’re here, you can probably figure it out! I opted for more traditional toppings like fresh mango, kiwi, and strawberries. The pineapples though fresh, looked slightly browned, so I passed on those. They have sweetened shredded coconut, yum. Also, there are many nut choices, including walnuts in syrup. I opted for the crushed almonds, though there were sliced almonds, chopped cashews and chopped peanuts. The selection was fun, and I can see how with the large paper cup(even the smallest one was huge!) that someone could end up with WAY too much. It fills up quickly, and as you eat, it fills your stomach up quickly, too. I was happy with the choices and my fruit-topped coconut almond soy yogurt to go. Yum! Now, I am comfortable with and recommend going to any of these Tutti Frutti franchises!

What’s not to love about this place? Every time I’ve been, I’ve been greeted warmly. It’s clean and hardly ever packed, this being Damascus. There are usual and unusual yogurt flavors(soybean, taro) and all of the delightful toppings that these self-serve places are known for. They have tons of options for liquid toppings too. After you pay you get to choose your spoon– my mom was way too excited about this. I wish this place had existed when I was growing up in this town– I would have been here every day!
