Stopped in last week, and the shop was practically empty. I know it’s the end of tourist season, but I was hoping to catch at least a little something. The pickings were slim. The ladies advised me that I should get pictures of their new things online and then order and have them shipped, but that seems like a lot of trouble, although it’s nice that they offer the service.

The pottery here makes great gift items — especially for Maine-based weddings. My wife and I have received some nice lamps and purchased several other items — all of which have very nice designs. My wife loves collecting their work. It does come at a price though, literally and figuratively. A) They sell out VERY quickly. B) Fellow customers can turn into frenzied hoarders. C) A coffee mug costs $ 48. Seriously. That’s not a funny-for-Yelp-exaggeration. Overall, really nicely designed pottery just be mindful of your budget.

Totally off the beaten path. Only people who have been taken know how to get there. But it is worth the hunt. Best time to go is in mud season — think ugly March in Maine — because once the sun starts to shine all the stock from the long winter is gone.
