Have never experienced such rude waitress ever. There are two female waitress that have such rude and angry demeanor that ruins all the enjoyment of eating there. Hope the owner of the restaurant will do something to them before business will go downhill. Food is otherwise reasonable.

1 star for cheap and decent watermelon tapioca juice. 1 star for cheap edible food. Unfortunately that’s all the positives for what I can say about this place. There is pretty much NOSERVICE here. Nobody acknowledges you when you walk in. Pick any table you like. Menus are already on each table. Workers here are RUDE! My dad wanted to ask a question regarding an entrée and was ignored. He asked a skinny lady wearing a pink polo shirt and instead of helping my dad and attempting to answer his question, she brushed him off and walked away and told her coworker to help us. We should have just dropped our menus and left at this point. But one of the workers came and finally helped us. We definitely won’t be back. I rather pay a little bit more and get some decent service.

Came here Saturday night for quick diner b4 move after picking up the old lady from work. lucky it was’nt that busy yet some we were able to get a table in less than 5 mnutes. u know ho it is with these café people sit in there and bullshit for a long time. 1st complaint I have is found a hair in the soup but the lady appologize and bought a new one out right away who knows if that was the same one or not but atlease they were quick on this. order peking spareribs 1st bite I know it was a different cook doing this because it was kind of dry but overall ok. string bean with sparerib. this was good except too much oil to rinse the string bean. and order salty fish with dice chicken eggplant clay pot it was way to watery but food taste still good. so likke I say no complaint with what u get here for the price and sometimes u get pretty good food. I was just amaze at the service thinking that what u expect in your soup abalone. you’ll be lucky u find hair and not pubic hair. but the waitress was happy to exchange a new bowl and appologized as well. very amazing. something u would not expect here but at a 5 star restaurant. I guess I was wrong.

I like how this place has happy hour and special deals and price wise is affordable! Lots of parking too. Came here on a rainy night for dinner on Wednesday with the family so it wasn’t packed and got seated immediately. Customer service is bad… Waitresses don’t really care about the customers and would talk among themselves. When the tea came, the cups were not washed well. There was lipstick stains still on them or something in the tea; so gross. I ordered watermelon juice, which is blended($ 2.75) and it’s definitely fresh from the fruit. No powder nor syrup. I really enjoyed as it’s cold and refreshing. On the menu they have: order 3 items for $ 21.99 + tax. I remember a few years back it’s $ 19.99, guess they raised the price. Still a good deal! The meal comes with a big bowl of soup to share with others, and rice. We ordered string bean with chicken, scrambled egg with shrimp, and steamed fish with veggies(forgot what’s called). — string bean with chicken: big portion. I felt like there was a lot of chicken pieces and even more string beans. The sauce on it is yummy, similar to hoisin sauce. Out of the three, this is my favorite one. A little bit on the salty side though. — scrambled egg with shrimp: I couldn’t really taste the egg, but I did like the texture. Shrimp was soft and easy to chew, I liked it. — steamed fish with veggies: portion size for this was small. Fish pieces to me tasted like McDonald’s chicken nuggets for some reason. For veggies it’s cooked cucumbers, carrots and celery, good choice to mix with the fish. I thought this was just ok, and on the salty side too. When the receipt came I noticed 9 cents for an item and I didn’t understand until I figured out why. The three items didn’t total $ 21.99 so they added 9 cents to it to make it $ 21.99 along with tax. How funny.

Food is 5⁄5 very delicious, it is dirt cheap too. Especially if you come during happy hour. Service at this location is not bad, it’s what I expect. They bring you eating utensils and food, what more do you need? If you’re a needy bitch that wants to be treated like a princess being asked how your food is every 5 seconds then go home. But if you’re a rational level headed person that wants tasty food at a low price with fast service then come here. Sure this restaurant isn’t the cleanest but of course you have to make some compromises when the food is so cheap, good, and portions are so large.

This has gotta be the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The servers were rude and the food was disgusting. This lady(in her 50s, curly hair) went to our table and asked us for tips, like it was some mandatory shit. She even said that we’re not welcome anymore in this café and she won’t even serve us. Like wtf? Why would you say that to your guests? They need to be educated about customer service in general.

They charge me for extra dish that I did not order. So beware and count how many dishes you ordered. She thought I did not read the reviews before coming over. She thought I’m an idiot. Then the guy fixed my bill but this time he charged me with for the soup container. WTF! It was not on the 1st bill but showed up on the 2nd bill. His rationale«my boss told us to charge for the small container» and I asked him if they charge the container for the to go orders? He said no. LOL. THEYWILLTHINKOFSOMETHINGTOINCREASEYOURBILLFORTHEINCLUDED15% TIP. Fuckin pissed my experience.

The ambiance is slumming, dark and dingy. If you like a nice atmosphere forget this place. If you want to take out then this is fine. Real Chinese food. If you don’t mind sitting in a bad atmosphere, then you are good here. Also it’s open til 1 am, so late night there’s not much open and this would be the spot to go to. Now, what I love is the tomatoe beef chow mein. My childhood favorite. If you want a bang for the buck, the 3 items for $ 20.99 or so will be awesome. They make you pay extra for some items. Overall, bad ambiance, perfect for take out and fine to dine in when you have no choice or maybe you don’t care.

Skyline café has good deals during their happy hours!!! I love their fried flounder, garlic spinach, and seafood and tofu pot!!! All these items are on the list for their happy hour special where you choose 3 items, you get rice, and the soup of the day all for $ 20! If you don’t mind the slight dirtiness and loud noise, the food tastes pretty good. Also you can even call in your order, pick it up, and eat at home. I give this place 4 stars for: Pros: good food, cheap deals, easy(sometimes quick) take-out… Cons: atmosphere, bathrooms, and(sometimes slow service)…

This place is just a simple go to for me. There are two reasons I would come to Skyline’s Café: 1. Afternoon tea(happy hour) 2. Dinner to go(the 3 item dinner plan) Afternoon tea starts at 3pm. If I haven’t eaten lunch by then or just want an afternoon snack with some milk tea, this is the place to go. The items are relatively cheap during the afternoon tea hours and the milk tea also has a sizable discount. The afternoon tea menu includes dishes such as baked pork chop rice, french toast, various noodles, fried oysters, etc. The 3 item dinner plan is pretty nice as well. You get to select three dishes from a large variety of choices for a total of around $ 20. Selecting some items require adding an extra dollar or so. The plan comes with soup and rice and feeds about three people total so it’s a good deal. There is a very large selection of items to choose from so you can’t really go wrong with this meal. Overall, this place is a nice little café. It’s not the cleanest or nicest of places, but if you just want a simple meal, the food here isn’t bad at all.

As most Unilocalers have already noted that Skyline’s Café is more on the inexpensive spectrum for HK style café food. However, you will definitely not be paying for quality. Two of us ordered a baked seafood spaghetti and their beef special rice plate. The beef special rice plate came within 3 minutes of putting in our order. Unfortunately, the beef was only lukewarm and sat on top of a bed of sad soggy lettuce. What was more atrocious was the baked seafood spaghetti that showed no sign of being in the oven other than the tin tray it came on. The cream sauce was still completely white, watery, and no where near hot. The spaghetti was completely tasteless– not even a hint of salt, outdoing the rather bland sauce that accompanied it. On the flip side, portions were huge, but I’d much rather pay the same amount for something minuscule and palatable.

My aunt loves coming here for their 3 entrees with soup and rice for 21.99, so she brought me here recently because it’s her latest crave. We also brought my grandma, and ended up ordering 6 dishes total. My favorites were the greens with garlic, string beans with chicken, scallops and the salt and pepper tofu cubes. My grandma really liked their salty fish tofu dish, and my aunt really likes their shrimp & egg dish. I’m not sure exactly how they season their eggs, but I think something in them gave me an allergic reaction. Otherwise, they taste good! I also tried their watermelon juice, which is made fresh with watermelon and you have the option to add boba. All in all, this place is good for something decent if you’re looking for quantity, not so much quality. It’s a good go-to place for a cheap chinese food fix. Their food also comes with a pot of rice and soup! You’re bound to leave here full even with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch, because their portions are pretty big.

I appreciate this place more and more every time I come. They serve great Chinese comfort food, which makes me feel right at home. The dishes we ordered tonight really hit all the right spots. Good service is not something you come here for. You come here for the good food and quick order time. You never have to wait more than 10 minutes at the door, even if the restaurant is packed with people. I know this place lacks the aesthetics of a restaurant, but the lively atmosphere and presence of so many Chinese people around you definitely makes me feel right at home. I can always depend on Skyline Café to make good milk tea drinks too. We ordered from their $ 21.99 for 3 dishes meal. Their menu had 132 options to choose from. We chose the Beef with String Beans. When you order beef, they add $ 0.50. We also got the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings. They’re chicken wings are always served very hot and full of juicy meat. It’s pretty delicious and worth your buck. The last dish we ordered was the Honey Walnut Shrimp. That one cost us an additional $ 1.50. It was an amazing dish and I would totally recommend it. The shrimps are huge and flavorful. What’s great about ordering the $ 21.99 meal is that soup and rice is also included. I must admit, my two friends and I almost finished all three dishes because the food was very tasty and satisfying. The tapioca milk tea, which is only $ 1.75 was also pretty awesome. Even though they don’t have the best service, they do have great food for a very affordable price and their store hours are flexible enough that you can almost roll in at any hour of the day and enjoy hot and delicious food. So cheers! I always come back for more.

Came in for happy hour where all the food is ridiculously cheap. My good friend lives close by, and it’s the first time I’ve stopped in here. I rarely ever have cash so it’s pretty much never an option for me. The service here isn’t good, let’s just lay that out. But I also wasn’t expecting it to be good. There are certain restaurants where I can tell that I’ll have to lower my expectations for good service, and this is one of them. Look, I’m already only paying about $ 6 for my meal. I’m not about to be imperious in a place where something shady could happen to my food, you know? This is definitely a café where you’re just going to not have to care(unless something shady happens to your food, then yes, please care) or you’ll be unhappy with your already suspiciously cheap nosh. And I’d rather be happy with my wallet-friendly choices, thanks. Between the three of us, only one of us had $ 35 in cash, so we strategically ordered during happy hour to make sure that we were below that amount and had enough food. We ordered five dishes that only totaled about $ 20 and we had a lot leftover. I got the Szechuan eggplant dish, which was excellent(vegetarians, there are random pieces of chicken or some kind of mystery meat in that — just a heads up) for the $ 6 price, and was a huge portion. The Yangchow fried rice plate was massive and was only $ 4-$ 5 or something at happy hour. I didn’t have any of the meat, so I can’t say much about that, but I personally did not get sick from the eggplant dish I had. So for meat, it may be suspiciously cheap, but for the veggies? Not bad. I’d come back if I had cash.

This Chinese food Resturant is cheap and the service is pretty fast. Just remember you get what you pay for!!! and although it might not be the best looking or tasting food, The convenience of being open late night with low prices(during their happy hour) make it worth trying out at least once. I was told about the skyline café from a friend who said she goes there often with co-workers. She said its a small hole in the wall location but the fact that during their happy hour(3pm-6pm and 10pm-1pm) most of the food is cheaper then any place you’ll find made it intriguing. So when we arrived, we noticed how small it really was. No big deal but i also realized that if you’re looking for attentive and quality service then this won’t be the place for you. We ordered our food and although the portions were big, the food didn’t look the best and I wasn’t to thrilled that our silverware was dirty from previous food and had the stains still on it. We sampled the honey walnut shrimp, the deep-fried pork intestines, the shrimp fried rice, and the salt-and-pepper wings. The honey walnut shrimp was cooked well and I liked the fact they didn’t drown the shrimp with mayo. It’s such a turn off for me when all you taste is mayo. The deep fried pork intestines were surprisingly good. Although they had a barnyard smell to them, they were crunchy and fried evenly. Something very different from what I would normally order and resembled a southern comfort food called chitlins. Minus the fact that the deep fried pork intestines were fried and not covered in a sauce like chitlins are. The shrimp fried rice is something that should always taste good and should be impossible to mess up. Finally the salt and pepper wings we’re a bit burnt. They were smaller in size then what most Chinese food restaurants serve but you get a good number of them, so it evens out, I guess. I just wish it didn’t taste like recycled cooking oil because you definitely tastes the difference in how they prepare them. So to summarize, my experience was meh! Nothing special and nothing worth writing home about. The food is ok but the fact it’s open late and cheap during their happy hours makes it a destination for folks looking for comfort food without any hassle or worries about putting a hole in their wallets.

*YOUGETWHATYOUPAIDFOR* This review is based on my recent experience here. This place is very close to my house and so conveniently open late. My family and I are regular customers here and we recently ordered the salt and pepper spare ribs, honey walnut prawns, fried rice, and garlic spinach. As my youngest brother bit into the garlic spinach he cried only to find out there was a HUGEROCK in the spinach. It was a broken piece of stone in our spinach. This is very upsetting and unsanitary which could have caused serious issues if someone swallowed it. They should be much more careful and sanitary. If you want cheap Chinese food with a hint of pebbles, please come here.

Pretty sure the sign in sheet does nothing and no one checks it. We waited near the door until one of the waitresses asked us how many were in our party so don’t write your name down and go outside expecting them to call you! Waited maybe 10 – 15 mins for a table for 2 because there were some huge families getting seated just before us. Because it was so busy during my visit, we had to flag down a waitress ourselves so we could order. We got Mongolian Beef with Rice and Chicken Chow Mein. Came out in about 10 mins. The bf and I scarfed it down. Kinda crazy that I could finish a whole plate of Chow Mein by myself but it was good. The dishes were good and for the price, you get what you pay for! With tax and tip it was about $ 8 per dish and we were both super full after finishing our food so can’t get much better than that for dinner. Bottom line: Pretty good Chinese food for a cheap proce. Not amazing service but you need something, you can flag them down so kinda nice they don’t bug you or anything.

In several past reviews, I’ve mentioned how I can get just as much pleasure and enjoyment from a great meal at a trendy restaurant as I can from an equally satisfying meal at a cheap Chinese restaurant. However, I should have included one more important caveat — «…assuming it’s good». Although I can’t say for sure, Skyline’s Café looks like it shares the same owners as D&A Café, an equally cheap, yet slightly less underwhelming, HK restaurant on Clement in SF. Not only do the plates and silverware look the same, but the menu is nearly identical and just as extensive. No lie, it’s one of the longest I’ve ever seen, with about 200 items(if not more). – MONGOLIANBEEF ( ) Maybe it’s because of the long strips of zucchini, but this didn’t look like any Mongolian Beef I’ve ever had(which, granted, isn’t many). In any case, it was rather meh. The beef was a little chewy and there wasn’t much heat to the dish(despite the pepper), which made this more like a generic stir fry dish. – OXTAILANDBEANCURDCLAYPOT ( ) My favorite of the night. I wasn’t big on the sauce(a little thick), but the chunks of ox tail were really meaty. True, they also could have been a bit more tender, but each piece(as well as the bean curd) was quite tasty. – EGGPLANTWITHCHICKEN&SALTEDFISHCLAYPOT ( ) Definitely not the best version I’ve had. There could have been a little more salted fish(love the stuff), but my bigger qualm was with the eggplant — mushy and really overcooked. If not for the chicken, this would have been one gloppy mess. As far as the service, unlike some people’s comments, it didn’t seem especially bad to me. That’s not to say it was good; just that it’s on par with any other Chinese restaurant out there — they don’t check on you, you have to hail them if you need something, and they aren’t overly friendly(though they aren’t mean or rude either). Even though the ox tail dish really wasn’t all that bad, the other two dishes my friend and I shared really missed the mark. TWOAND A HALFSTARS for the food, but rounding down. They may not be bad for the area, but as much as I appreciate their late hours and cheap, cheap prices($ 6-$ 8 per dish), I can find better for the same price elsewhere.

Place opens late night. cash only. I ordered their yellow chicken special for $ 5.50 can’t say I was too impressed as the rice was cold. and my chicken already had the fat and juices hardened and gelatinized. which means it had been in the fridge pretty much all day. The service was also pretty terrible, we didn’t get waited on for around 15 mins or so… Friend got their other chicken special for the same price(can’t remember exactly what it was) but it was better than my plate of food, unsure though if chef mike(microwave) cooked it. For a late night choice it’s definitely not bad, as I had worse. but you definitely get what you pay for.
