Quest Diagnostics

I came in before 9am today (Friday) with no appointment. There were a few people before me and people that came in with appointments, but I was seen in 30 minutes. My phlebotomist, Esmerelda, was very friendly and upbeat. It was the easiest blood draw I’ve ever had. She found a vein right away and I didn’t even feel the needle go in!

so i take my son to a pediatrician that is also in the same building. first off i would like to say i am a young mother and i had zero clue that i was supposed to have my sons blood work done when he turned 1. i work for city and county and they needed some lab blood work as a requirement and they looked at me as though i’m an idiot because i had zero idea that he needed his blood work done to check his hemoglobin. (pedi failed to tell me and let me know the following month) that it «whoops…still needed to be completed… immediately» seriously. okay whatever i take my son in that weekend. the woman failed to get any blood drawn she would put the needle in multiple times and wiggle it around all the while my son would kick and scream. then she goes «oh just come back for jonathan we cannot do.» f**king seriously??? come back in two weeks since i feel he is traumatized from it, take him in different person same response. «come back another time just call ahead see if jonathan here» wtf i came in multiple times at the time they stated jonathan would be there and every single time jonathan was not there! !!?@!~?@gtjoeui4jtho (they never gave me a number either)
months go by and every time i came in jonathan was not there every time i asked for a direct line to call in ahead they gave me the run around. i called the number seen above then theres an option for «pediatricts» and again useless the number is disconnected!!!
update your damn system.
my son turned one in september of 2014 his hemoglobin was not done until this year around may!!! finally jonathan was there. he gets 4 stars for being patient and not sticking my son carlessly. he attempted multiple times on his hand did not work and he even said maybe you should come back. my exact words were «no !!!» he then states «lets try your babies leg sometimes its easier from their legs»… omfg seriously? this is the first time i heard this was even a possibility so thank you jonathan for trying one last time on my babies leg even though he was very frustrated. we needed multiple bloo work tests done due to my son having an undiagnosed condition. wait time is terrible, oh and you are lucky if you can get your test lab results… i attempted to contact them by phone (automated absolutely no contact) no fax number. lets see, i called over a month ago for my results from the pedi here at the same location they faxed back saying «no hmo was completed or on file» maybe ucsf has the results. mmm no called them and nothing. where the f is my babiesresults you guys are so useless. create stress for the hard working parents that come in here on their time off or requested time off only to waste their time!!! people do not have the time to go back and forth with you guys!!! do not i repeat do not bring your little ones here!!!

I hate that they have a number to call that doesn’t even have a number to talk to someone and transfers you to a 1 – 800 number –_​-​. If you keep pressing 0 it will just hang up on you

This place is a life threat!
They screwed up ONE test order slip from my doctor beyond recognition. I had no idea that so much could even be messed up! Let me count the ways:
— they failed to find the codes for some of the test in their system although my doctor had given the correct codes.
–they put the blood specimens into the wrong tubes and did not prepare them right
–some blood specimens had expired before they reached the testing lab because they were sent out on the wrong day and could not be used
–after I did a search on the Quest websites and found the codes, I went back and told the ignorant lady at the front desk. She insisted she had done it right. I had to contact her supervisor to get it fixed.
–when her supervisor called her back (I overheard the conversation because I was waiting at the draw station), she tried to talk her way out of it by saying the testing lab could just take some of the access blood out of other tubes and fill new tubes. Really? Isn’t that a good way to contaminate blood specimens?
–they did a test which my doctor had not ordered
–they did not do two tests that my doctor had ordered
–in part of the lab slips they put the wrong diagnostic code (my doctor had given the right one on the order though)
–in the other part of the lab slips they didn’t put any diagnostic code (although the code was on my doctor’s order slip). This led to Quest incorrectly billing me. I had to spend over an hour on the phone with their billing department to get that fixed.
–they did not put the ordering doctor“s contact information into the system so after the test results were in, they did not know which doctor to send the results to. All the while my doctor was waiting for the test results.
–After the first blood draw of 28 vials of blood, I had to go back and get another 12 vials drawn because of their mistakes. Then when we found further mistakes, I had to go back and get 5 more vials of blood drawn.
Who would have ever thought that you can screw up so much on a single test order slip?
Do not trust this place to deal with your health. Don’t walk away, run. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

If you like being ignored this is the place for you. The staff at the front desk will not make eye contact. The folks drawing the blood have always been very nice though. There has to be a better way to run this place.

Ok, today was my third time coming here.(1ST:no appointment 1hr wait so I bailed. 2ND 9:30 appointment but i was told its too late for the glucose test so i was sent home after 45 minutes wait). I had a 715 appointment and was called on time. So yay… BUT after having 4 vials of blood taken from me and drinking half the bottle of the glucose test drink, i was told I was given the wrong form by my doctor and need to go somewhere else for my blood test… JOY -.-
They could’ve told me that last week when they first checked my card! 2 stars for the staff who were nice.

HORRIBLE! my sister is pregnant and came in to get her glucose test done. They had my sister there without eating from 9am-​3pm because they «accidentally» skipped her. SO DISORGANIZED !!!

I would give it 5 stars if not for the 20 minute wait, but I guess I shouldn’t complain because I did not have an appointment. The lady at the front desk was courteous and polite, and instructed me to sign in. I went in on a Monday around 1130, and from the list, it looked like there was at least 5 people ahead of me.
It looks like they have a new staff on board, one that is friendly, professional and competent. The gentleman who drew my labs got it in one shot, and didn’t do any fishing or poking around for it. Part of my anxiety is thinking about getting someone inexperienced. Well, I was in and out within 30 minutes, and had a truly uneventful and positive experience.

I used to come to this lab for my blood workup but after today I will not be returning. The Filipino woman at the
front check in was so disorganized and incompetent and the whole office in general seemed very chaotic and clueless my gut told me to leave and go to another location.
I fasted 14 hours for this appointment too but better safe than sorry. If they can’t even get the lab slips right who knows how they handle or identify the samples!

A very clean facility with easy access parking. The staff was professional and courteous. I had an appointment and was seen in a timely manner. Kristine (who drew my blood) was very skilled in doing so. Absolutely painless. This is the place to go to!

If you’re a physician DO NOT send your patients here! This office is incompetent and unprofessional! Twice they’ve turned one of my patients away due to their unorganized staff! When I called to confirm receipt of documents, THEY didn’t even know their own fax number! Disgrace… if this is how they manage their front office, I can only IMAGINE how they run their back office and store their samples. Disgrace…

Went here on a Saturday and I saw about 15 people waiting when I arrived. I thought I’ll be in for a long wait because there were a lot of walk-​ins but thank goodness I had an APPOINTMENT.
I arrived 10:38am. Signed up on a piece of paper and stated that I have a 10:45am appointment. As I waited, I heard other people getting pissed and impatient because they had been waiting for about an hour or so. I was a bit restless but then, they suddenly called my name. Had a brief chit chat with Selena/​Celina as she input my details online. After a few minutes, they took my blood and it was done in an instant.
What time I finished? 10:58am. Everything was quick and staff were really friendly.
My suggestion? BOOK AN APPOINTMENT.

I should have asked my daughter doctor to send us somewhere else after i read all the bad Unilocal reviews but we came in anyways… what a HUGE mistake.
All we needed was a simple blood draw, there was 1 person ahead of us n we waited over an hr to b seen. The lady at the front desk really is incompetent n definitely unable to multi task let alone finish any task. I told her my daughter’s doc sent the papers over electronically n that we should b in the system but she had an intern search thru multiple files before she checked the computer. Then we were sent into a room to wait another 20 min before they drew her blood. During that time they put a warm compress on her arm to help the blood flow during the draw but took the blood from the opposite arm. Then they put medical tape all around her arm to hold the cotton on. i could go on but I have better things to do… BEWARE n enter at ur own risk

Had many bad experiences here and a few good ones when a good nurse is there who can draw my blood in one shot. Most of the time, I warn the nurse who is going to draw blood that I have thin veins and that my blood flows slow. I know that drinking water will help but it doesn’t for me.
The most recent occurrence led me to having a really bad bruise and I’ve just about had it with the inexperienced nurses here. They only needed 2 tubes of blood. I was stabbed in 3 separate areas with 1 resulting a bruise even though I told him that you won’t find much blood there on my forearm. Still he went in anyway. Oh the ignorance and arrogance of these nurses.
If you are someone who have thin veins like me, consider elsewhere where the nurses listen to you and are careful of their selection of the drawing site.

Do not come to this location. People who works here all came from hell especially Tess and the lady works in the front desk. They wont treat you nicely. They are demoralizing. If you need to get a lab procedure done go to the hospital not to Quest. I wish those people who works in Quest Campus Drive Daly City lose their jobs.

So I was hesitant to go to this lab because of the other review on here, but it’s in a really convenient location to my house so I figured I’d give it a shot.
Easy big parking lot, the place is on the first floor of a medical office building.
The front desk person was perfectly fine, not super friendly but not rude or anything.
Arrived at 1:25 for my 1:30 appointment. They took me back at 1:32 and my blood was painlessly drawn at 1:35. I was in the car and on my way back home by 1:40.
Pretty much all you can expect from a lab experience… this is my new go to spot if I need my blood drawn.

I arrived on February 16^th at 7:20 for my 7:20 and the person at the desk was absolutely horrible. In fact, let me tell you the ending first: I called her a bitch and walked out.
I told her I had an appointment but she said that she could not help me because my name was not on her screen. I told her I was sure that I had an appointment and that Quest actually confirmed it yesterday via email. This unprofessional, crude, raw young lady looked at me as if I was something she inadvertently stepped on. I sat down, used my I-​pad to gain access to my emails and walked up to the counter and showed her the email whereupon she said «well I don’t know what happened.» I told her «you should learn to be a little nicer.» Her response was «Excuse me!» like you would hear from a youngster raised by poor parents. I told her «No worries, I don’t want the appointment now, I am leaving because you are a bitch.» She called me an asshole and threatened to call the police. By the way, have you noticed that a lot of people seem to mention this person on Unilocal?Hey Quest, just a thought: if a lot of people think this person needs seasoning have a talk with her or get a replacement.
Suggestion: skip this place and go into San Francisco, they have people than can speak using grammatically correct sentences that act like they appreciate a job.
