Took an hour groupon there with Chris and he was awesome! I definitely felt like I improved my aim within an hour and it was a lot of fun! Kind of pricey but with the group on it helped. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family!

Well explained by instructor and easy to improve. Liked the group lessons– there were 6 of us. Learned safety first, posture, stance, settling into shot and adjusting. Perfect for beginners! Really had fun!
Would be fun for date night!

I absolutely love this archery shop. Starting 3 & a half months ago I went in to buy my 1^st bow, as I’ve never ever even shot a bow. But over the past couple years have gotten into the sport by watching & listening to Cameron Hanes, John Dudley, & Joe Rogan, as well as Steven Rinella. So because of all of them I swayed towards wanting a HOYT compound bow for both 3D shooting & eventually a Whitetail Hunt.
So I drive 45min to Pacifica Archery at there opening time & saw how big it was, with a bunch of lanes to shoot or test out bows, as well as u can go there to practice and even for lessons. But I went in there to purchase my 1^st bow ever. So o walked up to there very nice selection of all the newest releases from all the major companies like Mathews & HOYT & a couple others. Then with in a minute was greeted by Rudy, who helped me through every step of the way, and still till this day he helps. He’s awesome, and for those of you reading this full review will agree if u’ve ever had the chance to meet him, he’s grate at archery, and very knowledgable on every detail that this amazing sport has to offer.
At 1^st I ended up putting in an order & paying in full for a Carbon Defiant Turbo at #55. But a month or 2 later I had watched every single Carbon Defiant YouTube video in the world, & had come to the conclusion that for my 1^st bow ever I was getting too much of an aggressive let off type of bow. So after a bunch of back & forth messaging on there FaceBook page, I ended up driving back in again to make absolutely sure I was getting the right bow for me. So I went in & pulled back the TURBO at 60 pounds about 30 times. Then tried out the Defiant 34, & the 30.5 Carbon Defiant both at 60 pounds and instantly fell in love with the string angles of both the 30.5 & 34 Carbon Defiant’s. Everything about them felt amazing in every way. The only reason I ended up choosing the 30.5 Carbon Defiant over the Carbon Defiant 34, is because of the slight boost in IBO speed of 331 fps, as well as it was slightly smaller & lighter the the 34, & so I pulled back the string in all 3 for over an hour, back & forth comparing, & the HOYT Carbon Defiant in the 30.5inch axle to axle bow. Rudy & the lady owner there where totally understanding in my decision to chance my already 2months in pre-​order of that CarbonDefiantTURBO, to a regular Carbon Defiant. They where awesome in helping me do that. They re-​measured my draw length, as well as changed my Limb/​Draw weight to 55 – 65 pounds, and after they did that, a couple days later they got a new ETA of delivery for my updated bow order of August 3^rd, which is another 4 months. But I knew I was making the right decision, so I began the wait again.
Literally a week later, I get a call from Pacifica Archery, & it’s Rudy, explaining to me that they got in a HOYT Carbon Defiant with my exact specs & Ridge Reaper color I wanted, that this brand new bow that was meant for someone else who canceled there purchase, they offered it to me, & I jumped at thee offer so I could start practicing & getting use to my new bow before my October deer hunting trip.
So needless to say, it was a roller coaster ride of a bow buying time. & most of all, a huge Thank You to Rudy for ur patience & all ur time I took up with my noob questions.

Third time here. Came in for a tune up for my brand new compound Diamond infinity edge this time, but I’ve been here previously when I was getting my PSE kingfisher set up. Bought some arrows for myself twice, once maybe three years ago, service was fair and I can say this establishment is good for archery supplies, though maybe a little on the middle to pricey side.
Arrows were pretty nice and you get what you paid for, though it cost me roughly $ 9 an arrow for carbons. Haven’t really tried all the arrows out there, but these were good. I’ve bought some brand carbon and Easton aluminum arrows.
Tune up for my compound is $ 75, and a bow fitting is $ 35.
I turned it in on a Friday afternoon for the compound tune up, but the front person says I have to wait til Tuesday because the technician has his hands full with students. Decently priced, cost around what I expected, but wish they had more hands on deck to serve their customers. It’s a big place though, and you’ll find what you need. Don’t really wanna wait 4 days to go shoot.

Very nice place for a 1^st time doing archery! Make sure you arrive 15min before your appointment otherwise they’ll have a little attitude when you arrive!!!
We had an amazing instructor, John! He took time to go thru all the safety instructions and gave us advices to correct our shots. We had a great time!
The only real negative is that they gave us one target to share with my friend and half way thru our session the paper was destroyed :/​
They have great material and the facility is clean (just smelly a little bit)

My experience is as a retail goods consumer. I did not take lessons from this store.
They have a really good selection on Archery goods. The entire staff is pretty knowledgeable. The prices are pretty fair.
I want to give kudos to Nathan because over the past 3 years (maybe I’ve visited 10 times?) he’s always come up with very good solutions to whatever issues I have with my bows and arrows. At first I mistook his confidence for arrogance. But after visiting the shop over a period of time, his consistent problem solving has been very helpful to me and has saved me a lot of money and time. He’s also pretty honest about the pricing, whenever I think about purchasing something, he quotes me the total cost. An example would be a compound bow purchase. It should cost about $ 800 but you’ll see it retail for ~$ 500. But you want the necessary add-​ons if you do purchase one.
I’ll continue to purchase my supplies from this store.

My initial impression was that there were too many students for the number of instructors. The first brief and instruction was quick, and left my two 11 y/o’s behind. Instruction was decent for the first 20min, and the remaining hr was just «phoned in». Maybe this is a «group-​on» instruction mill?! Kids spent 30 min shooting, with no instruction, or pointers. Pathetic!
I’ll go somewhere else with my time and money next time.

My husband and I came in with a groupon for the 1^st time ever. So fun! Jerick (sorry if spelled wrong) he was helpful, informative and funny, we recommend being taught by him. Can’t wait to go back!

We first went to Pacifica Archery when my girls asked to check out the sport after seeing Brave. Again. The initial introduction lesson was pretty basic, but the staff was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. They took extra time with the young ones to make sure they had the right equipment and were being safe. The first lesson led to going back. Again. And then again.
It was easy to catch the archery bug and the Pacifica Archery staff made it even easier. The range is well lit, rarely crowded on a weeknight, the store is well stocked and the staff is willing to let you try before you buy in order to get the right bow and accessories.
Yes, after a couple months, we ended up buying bows — and mine’s started growing attachments of its own.
There is a JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program Saturday mornings that my middle daughter started going regularly. The hour session with coaches available is actually less expensive than a normal night at the range. Very kid friendly.
Prices for lane time and gear rental are reasonable, while prices in the store and for services are also competitive.
They’re a family owned and operated store, which for me is a plus since I like to support local businesses.
The –only– down side is parking can be a little tight, since they share the lot with a nearby Planet Fitness and they tend to crowd the lot a bit. Otherwise, it’s a great indoor range with easy access off Interstate 280.

Went here with a few friends using a Groupon lesson for two. My wife didn’t want to participate so I was given a «freebie» for later use. The place is divided between the store front, where bows, arrows, and accessories are available for perusal, and the Range half to test if you have elven (or dwarven) blood. Good quick lesson including safety, etiquette, handling and grouping (targeting). The rest of the hour session we spent shooting and moving the targets further back to test our skills (or lack of). I would definitely come back again to train because I noticed my elven blood seemed less and less the further away the target was.
So if you’re itching to know if you’re related to Legolas or Katniss in any way, get acquainted with the bow and arrow before you take on Orcs or the Capital.

Came in with Mr. Piano using the «lesson for two» Groupon, and we had a good time :)
The instruction is on the informal side – they mention some things that are dangerous, and give you a couple of pointers on stance and such, but mostly let you do your own thing, which is nice. I do wish we’d gotten more lane time with the instructor around (who was really friendly about giving pointers, and didn’t go overboard with the nit-​picking right off the bat; he eased into it). I like that they keep the class sizes small, too, to make sure that everyone gets some attention and adjustment from the instructor. As per the other couple of times I’ve tried taking archery lessons, I managed to catch the inside of my arm with the string (in spite of having the protector on) because my arm is a little double-​jointed, but other than that, pretty smooth sailing :)

I got a groupon a couple of months ago, and decided to go today with my boyfriend. Scheduling was very easy and registrar was nice. I came in 35 minutes before because I thought that signing the waiver would take a long time, and I also thought that parking would be very hard, but we had no problem at all. Had a chance to talk to the owners and they were very warm, and I could tell how passionate they are about archery. Truly nice people. Our teacher Jerick was informative and funny. All in all, the experience was amazing. Everyone should at least try an archery class. My boyfriend enjoyed it too. We both learned a lot. Can’t wait to go back!

Our first time here was because of a groupon purchase for a lesson + session since we were unfamiliar with archery. The staff was very friendly and patient with showing us how to hold the equipment, our stance, and the techniques involved in shooting. The lesson last about ½ hour and we ended up getting to shoot for the remainder half of the hour.
We loved it so much that we wanted to come here again but only for the shooting since were already somewhat familiar. Thoroughly enjoyed it the second time around! The staff is always very welcoming and would still give us feedback on our shooting even though we were not part of the lesson. They have a great system for ensuring safety among all the shooters and the lanes give adequate space between one another so we do not affect each other’s shooting.
Parking is extremely convenient and very close to the freeway! Expenses are calculated per hour but you do decide to come, be sure to call first and reserve a lane because spots do fill up fast since the area is small. Highly recommend purchasing a groupon for the lessons if they are still available but if not, definitely still check it out and get a lesson for a introduction to Archery! The staff is AMAZING and so patient when it comes to helping you learn how to shoot and improve! :)

Went here because of groupon and my son and I had been meaning to take up archery. Got us a couple groupon. The first lesson was short. I honestly wouldn’t call it one. Just told us the basic form and what not to do and such. Then he left us alone. Our second one today was about the same. We were the only ones so they start us off early since nobody was using the lanes. Although we already know what we’re doing. We still listen to what the lady has to say. Then she saw us stand on the lane and set out arrows. I guess she kinda figure we already know what we’re doing. She asked us if we have done this before. We said yes. Then she asked if our reservation was for a lane or for a lesson. So I said i guess for lesson since that’s what our groupon was for. Then she just left. It’s fine because we have nore shooting time.
The only reason why I’m giving them 3 stars because they charged me for a broken arrow. Somehow their target. Everytime I hit it right in the middle. The arrow bounch back. And i felt like that’s what causes it. Oh well. Just gonna go ahead a buy my own gears so at least if i broke something. I won’t feel bad.

I went here with my gf for the 1 hr groupon deal. We had a great time as it was really laid back and you were basically left to shoot on your own after a super fast «lesson». The lesson was honestly a 10-​min max intro on how to hold the bow and shoot the arrow along with some safety tips. The rest of the 50 min was free time where you got to shoot the target and move it around as you wish.
I really liked that it was so laid back but I can see how some people might not like it as the instructor wasn’t exactly going to each student correcting them or saying tips. So you won’t be a katniss robin hood after the hour since you won’t really know what to correct if you’re super off, but it’s a fun time if you just wanna shoot shit without a stuck-​up attitude.

Let’s start at the very beginning Pacific archery originally started in Pacifica. Started going there with original owners. The store changed hands. Moved over here to the new location. Joe and Beth are great friendly informative and very helpful.
The new place is extremely large compared to the one that used to be in Pacifica they have their own shooting range inside. Rentals by the hour. Helpful hints are always available with no charge. Great staff they’re always there to help.
For those who need private lessons, those are available. For us who don’t need lessons they always have the accessories that we want extra arrows which we always need every once in a while. Great place to come.

We had a Groupon for a free lesson for 2, and my boyfriend has been dying to give archery a try. It was definitely an amazing experience, and we’re already planning out trips to go back and practice. The lesson is super straight forward, and they let you get right into shooting, with the instructor watching your technique and giving you pointers. We had a blast, it was actually kind of a calming experience, cause you really have to focus on your positioning and your body. I loved it, can’t wait to go again.

A family owned business in Daly City right next to the planet fitness. I bought a groupon online for 3, 1 hour lane rentals and gear rentals. I came with my girlfriend and they let us use 2 of the 1 hour rentals at the same time and were very accommodating for the groupon. You also need to make an appointment to reserve a lane beforehand and fill out a waiver online. Do this before you show up so you don’t have to wait and you can jump into shooting.
We got bows, arrows, quiver, and the wrist and finger guards. The lanes aren’t really separated and it’s open format. You get your arrows when everyone on the range is done shooting. So if you are quicker than everyone else or there are a bunch of beginners you may wait a bit longer in between rounds of shooting to get your arrows and start again. My girl and I had different lanes but we shared the same target. We started out with the target pretty close because my girlfriend has never held a bow and arrow. Eventually when we were more confident we moved the target further away. The staff was pretty nice and seemed really chill and laid back which was nice but don’t’ think you can screw around, they don’t take kindly to bending the safety rules.
Overall it was fun date idea which is a little out of the ordinary. If you don’t know what you are doing or don’t go with someone who has done this before, get lessons. It will help greatly.

I bought the groupon deal months ago and recently was able to go. Although, my groupon had expired, the guy at the register still granted the price! I had to reschedule twice because of forseen events. So, it was super nice of him to do that.
Lesson and activity combined together was only an hour. The lesson was less than 10 minutes. It wasn’t really a «lesson» at all. The lesson was explaining the safety procedures and what is the correct was to use the bow and arrow.
Definitely wear jeans! I read that tip from one of the reviews and I’m glad I followed it. If I didn’t I wouldn’t have a hook to hook all of my bow holder.
Although, I had an awesome time! For the original price I would not go again, but finding any deals on groupon and living social is the way to go.

So much FUN!!! Groupon deal was worth $ 80 for 2, which includes lesson, rentals, and shooting all for one hour. $ 80 for one hour is pretty steep, so I wouldn’t have ever tried it if it weren’t for the groupon deal that was half off, $ 40 for 2! For the steep original price, it loses one star. But the experience itself was great. Good teachers, except I didn’t take their advice of looking at the dot below the circle but rather just below the target. I think it’s different with each person. Just learn the form from the teachers, but use your own technique to aim!
