Established in 1998.

My father was a army mechanic, after he owned a shop in 1965 here in San francisco, i grew playing with car parts since a remember, i went to school and got my Master certification and smog license, i worked for few independent shops and BMW of sf here in the city, my Father help me open this shop in 1998, since our goal is to give the customers the best quality service at fair honest price.

My «check engine» light was on… with BMW’s that usually means money.
Took my car in to Edgar and within an hour he called, told me the problem
(the last place who worked on my car didn’t tighten some clamps) and told
me he wasn’t going to charge me… Absolutely they have my business and I
highly recommend them.

Because I am a woman, they tried to overcharge me. This place is a complete rip off! I took my car in just for diagnostic and this so called mechanic named edgar tried to charge me 700 $ for a tune up. Yes, I said 700 $. After the diagnostic, my car started acting funny. A day later, it wouldnt start at all! :-(when i called edgar he said bring it back for the 700 $ tune up and gave a snicker. I am truly saddened that people in the world can do this and get away with it! :O

I always hated going to mechanics, they would always take advantage that I was a girl and didn’t know about cars and prices. I’ve been going to Edgar for about 8 years now cause he’s amazing. I’m dreading the day that he retires, I may stop driving when that happens lol

Like a good barber or a butcher, when looking for a mechanic it’s always important to find someone you can trust. Edgar has always steered me in the right direction with his recommendations, makes it very clear when something does not need to be worked on, and I’ve never questioned his pricing. I go out of my way to bring any of my car needs to him as his shop offers easy access to Bart so it’s no problem leaving my car there. His 5 star rating is more than justified. What more can I say, Edgar is awesome!

You won’t find anyone else more honest and friendly as Edgar! He will give you an extremely fair quote (most likely cheaper than other auto repair shops) for what you need done and if he doesn’t think it’s necessary, he will give you his honest opinion. It’s hard to find an auto repair shop with mechanics you can trust to tell you the truth and isn’t just about making money. Edgar is also very personable and easy to talk to… which makes the whole experience even better!

If I could give Edgar 10 stars, I would!
His honesty and integrity are things you don’t see much anymore in an auto repair shop. He knows what he’s doing. He is thorough. He explains the work he does. When he repaired my car, he texted photos and videos of the damage or test given to show exactly what was going on, what he was doing and why. He explained what needed to be done now and what could wait. Super nice guy!
He even made sure I wasn’t cheated by my insurance company when they wanted to give me used or cheap parts. I am now a dedicated customer!

The owner is not honest. He uses a note pad from different auto shop to write his estimate. He would claim that he has replace parts but wasn’t really replaced. And he would replace your valuable parts with defective used parts. Be careful!!! What’s even funnier was he would ask you to help him out because he doesn’t have employee. I was a victim I hope this message will help you.

I went in convinced I was going to have to drop $ 600 because of what some sleazy lube shop told me a few months ago about my brakes (that they were worn out and needed to get replaced ASAP). After driving around for months waiting until I could afford the work I finally dragged myself in terrified of the damage I must have done driving around all this time.
Turns out they were full of it, and I still have 4 or 5 months until my brakes need to get done.
THANK YOU for being honest. I’ll be coming to this shop for all my future oil changes, brake jobs and: gulp: whatever else comes up.

I’ve been to this establishment for 8 years now and the service here is always incredible. Edgar always take good care of my car whether it is for an oil change, mechanical fluid replacement, or even checking the air in my tires. He also orders the best parts for my car so that my car does not malfunction on me. Edgar is the go-​to guy that I would suggest to anyone living in the Bay Area.

I dunno, something about this guy just says «AWESOME!!» i just needed my battery replaced, but his friendliness and honest assessment of my vehicle made me feel all warm and fuzzy. I think I will go back for more work when the time comes. Also, he didnt charge me any labor to put the battery in, which may be standard, I dont know, but it seemed like a special bonus to me.

You really have to come to Edgar’s shop, he is one of the best mechanics I have ever met, he is honest, has the best prices and he always makes me happy with his wonderful service. So don’t shop around and go see him when you need good service.

I cannot say enough about this shop, I am lucky enough to live nearby and just walk over and get my exercise.
Edgar has installed a new battery, radiator, tune up, oil changes and brakes for me over the last 3 years and I have never had any problem or issue with his quality and price!

Listen up Ladies!!! Tired of being ripped out when you take your car to a mechanic and they treat you like you are stupid? Well, you need to take your car to Edgar!!! This guy is awesome!!! He finds and fixes problems that not even a dealer’s mechanic can’t figure out, just ask BMW of San Francisco. He does not bullshit with you, he explains step by step what your car needs and what is going to do before hand. So, if you need a just an oil change, new brakes or any type of car repair go to Import World Auto Services… Guys can take their car too!!! You will not be disappointed, I bet my car on it!

Need a fast reliable and honest mechanic? Then bring your car to Edgar at Import world. He has tons of experience working with all kinds of cars, even crappy ones. He has been working on my families cars for years and always gives us good advice. We also get his opinion on any new car purchases with regards to maintenance issues so that we don’t end up with a car that needs alot. We end up going to him for all our routine maintenance and have never really had any major problems with our cars, except when we have gotten in some fender benders.
He has been trained by BMW and has all the electrical and computer diagnostics.
