We are an Elder Law and Special Needs Law firm. We help you plan for the future so you can protect your independence and dignity. We help clients and caregivers find, get and pay for good long-​term care. Elder Law attorneys focus on the legal needs of the elderly, and work with a variety of legal tools and techniques to meet the goals and objectives of the older client. Under this holistic approach, an Elder Law Attorney handles general estate planning issues and counsels clients about planning for incapacity with alternative decision making documents. Elder Law Attorneys also assist clients in planning for possible long-​term care needs, including nursing home care. More information is on our website.

History

Established in 2003.

David has been practicing law since 1993. He grew up around the elderly, spending many Saturday mornings at his grandmother’s beauty shop. He has a passion for helping the elderly and individuals with special needs and became a Certified Elder Law Attorney in 2004.

David L. McGuffey is a Certified Elder Law Attorney. He is in private practice, meaning he represents «real people.» He regularly meets with elders, individuals with special needs and their families to plan for the future. David is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the National Elder Law Foundation. He is a member of the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association and the Special Needs Alliance. David is a former Chair of the State Bar of Georgia’s Elder Law Section. He is active in his community.
