Bear Creek Bikes is acutely focused on our customers needs. We are a warm and friendly shop that is happy to walk the beginner through the process of becoming a cyclist as well as providing the sales and service that any experienced cyclist would appreciate.

We are a teaching shop with regular clinics, classes, and on the road/​trail sessions.

History

Established in 2007.

Aug 1^st, 2007 Bear Creek Bikes was born when long time riding buddies Shane Adams and former, parter, Jim Raisin, purchased Dalton Bicycles from its original owner. We quickly began group road rides and soon our shop and our cycling community had seen significant growth.

In Oct 2010, Bear Creek moved across town to its current location and did a complete renovation. We now can accommodate our customers Maintenance, Fit, and Retail needs in our huge show room. We offer a full mechanic shop, Fit Studio, and 5000 sq ft of cycling goodness!

We are committed to doing what we can to ensure the health and growth of our cycling community. As a long time educator, Shane and his staff frequently host clinics and classes both in the shop and out on the road or trail.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Shane began riding at age 13 to rehab a knee injury. What he didn’t realize was that a bicycle would not only become a vehicle rehabilitation but would also become the conduit that shaped his life.

At 14 he did his first business plan for a bike shop in his freshman business class. He has worked in numerous shops while attending college and while on extended breaks from college. He graduated from University of Georgia and later got his masters degree in Education. He was a teacher and coach for 9 years before starting Bear Creek Bikes in 2007.

He is an avid cyclist and enjoys both mountain and road riding. Located in a cycling mecca, he knows and values his local routes and trails and realizes how blessed he is to live in N. Ga.

Shane married the girl across the street, quite literally, Kerry Carter Adams. They have 2 sons, Jackson and Parker.
