Vickery Park

My husband and I came in a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday evening. The waitresses were amaze balls! Kacy and Leah sat with us and had us in tears of laughter, what great host. The food was great and drinks came fast. It was a friendly and fun atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Make sure you ask for them when you get there.

I’ve been coming here for some time and I have to say, this is probably the best overall bar in Dallas. The food is amazing– a hybrid between bar food and really fine restaurant food. But food can only carry a place so far. What separates this bar from so many others is the staff. From the manager Josh to the bartenders, like Wendi, Juan, Nandez, Erica and the illustrious Madison, to the waitstaff, with Keira, Diana, and others, they make you feel like family. It really is the best place in Dallas. I’d recommend the mussels, especially in Monday it Tuesday, the nachos are insane. And the late night burritos are send from God on high. If you don’t like this bar, you lack personality, because it has it in spades.

Where do I even begin in expressing how IMPRESSED I am with Vickery Park? I was struggling to plan a large birthday dinner for 27 ppl when all of my problems were solved by Josh, the manager at VP. From the moment he picked up the phone, he was professional, attentive and passionate about making this dinner absolutely perfect and he succeeded in doing so. Within an hour he sent me menu options and pricing, followed up twice prior to the dinner to ensure I had everything I needed and the night was perfectly executed. The food was incredible, our waitress Olivia was ON-​POINT and so pleasant. I cannot say enough good things about my experience here. THANK YOU JOSH.

The food was good, but the service ruined the entire experience. It took our server forever to get our things, and when we were ready to close out we literally waited 20 mins to get our tab. Then, the tab was wrong, she over charged us on 3 items. We were so tired of waiting we paid for it anyways and left.

Went to go have brunch. Besides not getting any refills, everything was fine up until it was time to get the check. We asked for Ame to please split our check and she made a rude comment about how we could have told her earlier. That was definitely the last time I’m going there.

I rate places not just by their food, but also their service. I just left this establishment, and I have to say, it’s a great bar, the food is ok, but the service makes this place AMAZING! First off, the restaurant is clean and the food is hot!
What pushes this place over to the 5 star level is the service. Specifically, Ciara. I ALWAYS take leftovers to my homeless «neighbors». When leaving, I asked for a «to go» container. I asked for plasticware and mentioned it was for the homeless people near me, Ciara, not o my brought my food in a to go container, but also extra plasticware, soup, and a whole salad! Enough food for 3 – 4 ppl to eat!
Again, although the food may be great, unless the service is top notch, I won’t return. I will return again and again as long as they keep hiring ppl like Ciara.

Totally unimpressed!
Waitress was horribly slow! It took 20min to get our drinks. 45min to get food. The food was good. But we kept having to flag down other servers to order more drinks, cuz ours was never around.

The bartender was kind when I tried to order food at the bar since the waitstaff continuously walked past our table of 7, with five of us having no food or drink in front of us. (The stars are for the bartender)
When a waitress arrived, she did so with seeming annoyance– we hadn’t even uttered a word to annoy her! At this point I was adamant I wouldn’t leave a dime. What’s worse, some attractive guys came in and the waitress became all smiles. Perhaps we were the wrong gender? I felt guilty when the check came, and couldn’t totally ignore the tip line.
The food was kind of lousy to me. The fries were the best thing I tasted.
Good music and people watching, and chill atmosphere, but unfortunately I won’t rush back.

This place is really quite delicious! The servers are sweet and very quick and the portions are rather large. My only disappointment is that it tastes as if they use canned spinach for their Eggs Benedict rather than fresh but despite that, it was still yummy! Needless to say, we will definitely be back! Such a great spot for brunch!

I’m glad I’ve found a super casual place that serves brunch Friday-​Monday! This place definitely is more like a bar than a sit-​down restaurant so you’re supposed seat yourself. I had the eggs benedict, and my boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy. My meal was super filling, and I like how they didn’t completely drench the eggs with hollandaise sauce. I was also a fan of the hash browns that came with it because they had a spicy kick to them! His meal, however, was completely covered in gravy, but I think that’s the whole point of the meal, right? The biscuits and gravy makes for really good comfort food. Definitely not the healthiest, but your tummy will be full and happy.
I wasn’t a fan of their coffee (a little too thin for my preference), but my boyfriend did so it really depends on your preference. We came on a Saturday morning before noon and had no trouble finding a table! Our server was very efficient and sweet, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food or for her to refill our coffee so we appreciate that!

I live in the neighborhood and this has been one of my favorite brunch spots for a few years now. The food is consistently good, but the service is terrible. The last time I went there for brunch it took 2 hours to get out of there, and we weren’t exactly trying to hang around and have a bunch of drinks.
Went inside to talk about a billing error with one of the managers at the bar, which he promptly fixed. I wish these guys would do rounds periodically to ask customers how their service /​meal is. If they did they’d probably have a much better picture on how to improve their service.

The brunch menu and drinks make this a great place for lunch on Sunday’s. Get here early for brunch if you want a quieter experience. It gets pretty loud if large groups have had a few mimosas already. And some of the staff is top-​notch, but some get a little too spread out to be on top of everything.
Overall, a good brunch on Sunday’s. We’ve been twice and will be back again.

The first time we ate at Vickery Park was for lunch on a Saturday in early May 2015. It wasn’t crowded and we found a place on the patio pretty easily. Unfortunately, our server seemed to be drifting in and out of various levels of consciousness. She took our order, came back and asked if we had been helped, took our order again, and never brought it. It was very strange and we weren’t the only ones with the issue. The manager eventually came around with a free carafe of mimosas and apologized on behalf of the server. The food was okay, but being so put off by the terrible service it was hard to really enjoy it.
In the beginning of July, I met a friend for drinks on Thursday evening. We had tried to sit on the patio at Old Monk with her large dog, but were told we had to leave. Vickery Park welcomed the dog and brought a bowl of water. We only ordered drinks and some appetizers, but the service this time was great, and the drinks and food were tasty and well-​made.
I’d say Vickery Park redeemed itself somewhat. It must have just been an off day in early May. Maybe I’ll try lunch again sometime, because I live in the neighborhood and want to support local business. Stay tuned…

Was in Dallas for a wedding and went to Vickery Park with a group of 6 for Saturday brunch per a friend’s suggestion. We didn’t have to wait for a table, in fact it was pretty empty when we got there a little after 11. But that may have been due to the rainy weather. Prices were reasonable and they have $ 12 mimosa carafes — hard to beat! Everybody tried a different brunch dish and I think everyone was pretty satisfied with their food. I had the eggs benedict with ham and spinach, which was very good! Not smothered in hollandaise sauce, just a dollop on top of each egg.
Our service was a little slow, but we were taking our time with the mimosas anyway. There isn’t much parking in front, but luckily we were able to get one of those spots.
I’d recommend this to others as a good place for a friendly brunch!

Fun place for brunch! They’re located in the busy Knox/​Henderson area, so parking will be tricky. However, you can park in the Fireside Pies lot during lunch/​brunch.
I really like their dog-​friendly patio. It’s got a bunch of wooden tables and benches, it’s covered, and there are fans and misters for hot days. I came here for brunch with a couple of friends, and I brought my pup along. We had no trouble finding a seat. I ordered a pineapple mimosa to drink and the chicken and waffles. The mimosa was delicious, and the chicken and waffles were pretty good as well. The chicken was like lightly breaded and fried chicken tenders. I would’ve preferred more of a crunch, but the flavor was nice, and it went well with the gravy. The waffle had some pecan pieces sprinkled in the batter, which was a nice addition. Again, would’ve enjoyed some crisp on the edges, but the waffle was really soft on the inside. I gave my dog a taste, and she looooved it (of course).
The service is pretty slow, but overall it’s a nice place to chill and chat with friends!

Vickery Park is a small quant neighborhood staple located in the Knox-​Henderson area of Dallas. Sunday comes fast, and my girlfriend and I were looking for a cool spot to try for brunch. This place gives off a very eclectic vibe. Our waiter Madison quite the charmer and full of energy was exceptional. She was great and very attentive. We sat on the patio and enjoyed Mimosas, along with chips and salsa while conversing and taking in the atmosphere. Unlike the Mayweather-​Pacquiao fight, the main event was very good. I went with the chicken and waffles. The Chicken was ok, wished that it would have had bones, but the waffle was quite possibly one of the best waffles I’ve ever tasted. The weather was great, and now I have a new spot to hit for brunch. A+ experience.

A few friends and I came out for their weekend brunch. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and they were delicious! I only wish the waffle was slightly crispier on the outside, but its internal softness /​moistness was perfect. Chicken was also extremely hot, but they’re more like chicken strips instead of actual fried chicken. The breading is also slightly lighter, so there won’t be as much crunch in your fried chicken if that’s something you crave. The dish is served with maple syrup AND gravy (both of which are to die for), so you can go sweet and salty!

For the most part, our waitress was MIA. We wondered if our mimosas would ever come out, but I think she was the only one working the patio area, so I won’t fault her too much since the patio was filled with other brunch parties. Other than her long absences, the service was okay — just standard wait service.
Atmosphere (⁵⁄₅)
If it’s the spring or fall, definitely try to get patio seating! You won’t regret it. We came on a beautiful April morning, and the patio provided a great view of Henderson, which is filled with tons of boutique shops. The patio is also dog-​friendly, so feel free to bring your pooch! :)
Pro tip: Parking is difficult during weekend brunch, but certain restaurants (*cough* Fireside Pies *cough*) are only open during dinner time so you can use their parking lots without having to walk too far to get to Vickery Park.

Solid brunch option in the Knox /​Henderson area. Our waitress was a bit absent, but I think it’s because she was busy serving all the parties on the patio by herself. Definitely try to get seating on the patio!

When you walk in here for your first time you won’t possibly have a clue of how good of food they offer. Vickery Park is no doubt a bar setup — you even get to walk past a almost usually packed patio overflowing with bellows of smoke from the guests.
They offer a no frills décor, but the food this bar serves is awesome! Over years I’ve tried several things on the menu and have never been let down. The pizza… The pizza! It’s randomly delicious.
Other than the food, service is always on point and it’s a great low key hangout. Definitely want to try their brunch, I’ve heard great things.

Still a solid five-​star neighborhood bar and all-​around superb brunch spot.
Brisket Sandwich is till my favorite but if you’re craving something on the lighter side, go for the ricotta omelette!
When the weather is lovely, enjoy a picnic table on the patio. Inside isn’t bad either as the doors stay open for nice breezes to stroll in.

I have been wanting to try Vikery Park for a while, so I recently had a chance to go for brunch. It has a bar feel. and smell, but there was a certain charm about it. Definitely good if you just want some low key brunch food without feeling like you need to dress up like Nick and Sam’s.
We chose our own table, and service was attentive. There were a lot of choices on the menu and they also have a wide selection of beers. The prices were also reasonable. I went with the grilled chicken sandwich which was on a jalepeno roll. It came with a side of fruit (there are other options like a salad or soup). The other half had the chicken and waffles. They must have been good because I was not offered any, and his plate was clean.
Pros: Good Service, TV’s, a patio, weekend brunch until 3pm, reasonably priced. It had a cool neighborhood vibe like bars that I went to in college.
Cons: Parking could be an issue at peak hours, smells kind of stale inside.
