I love Vhea’s and her staff are fantastic. They’re not only wonderful at what they do, they give back in the community to pet rescues and local businesses.
I don’t trust anyone else with my dogs’ nails!

I have used Vhea’s for grooming, the self-​wash and have boarded my own dog and several fosters here. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and Vhea herself is active in the animal rescue community. She helps dogs in need, fosters and keeps dogs at her facility and works with area rescue groups. I recommend Vhea’s highly! She truly cares about animals and runs a great business!

Note to self: there are other self-​service dog wash near me that allows dog wash 30 mins before close.

Update. Just brought the collie mix I’m caring for home and yet another awesome grooming job! I think there can be a big difference in self serve/​front desk and dealing with one of the best awesome groomers I’ve known. I had yorkies and poodles for a long time so I’ve been through a LOT of groomers in the last 30 years.

I been coming here for about a year all I can say is I love it! They help out so much, very friendly and always ask if you need anything. I have two huskies and two get them both groomed at petco is $ 120, here it’s $ 35 to do them myself. It’s more fun to wash your own dogs! We came in one time, did our usually baths, at the end they let us use some liquid to make them smell so good! We were also interested in their leashes there, I asked them how much they were and they gave it to use for free! I was so surprise and thanked them with all my heart! How can you not love it here?! I will forever come here no matter how far it is from my house. They clearly love all the dogs that come in, more then some places!

Hi I’m a new foster mom trying to do good! Instead of being rude and patronizing to your customers maybe being polite and helping them might be a better business motto. Sorry I put you out by coming in. Believe me I will never come again and will tell everyone in East Dallas. Thanks for nothing!

Took my dog here for a few groomings and once for daycare because it was down the street. Brandy, one of the groomers, did a pretty good job, but didn’t so a «complete job: (didn’t clean the ears of my goldendoodle). The first few times I took my dog for grooming during the week, which I would recommend if you don’t want a half-​ass (or poor) job done. When I took my dog for a cut on Saturday, he was returned to me clumpy (uneven), still had matting all over the ends of his ears, and inside his ears, and his underside was razorburned, which bothered him for days. Sadly, I won’t be returning for grooming. My one experience with the daycare included picking up my dog with his eye bothering him so badly that he couldn’t open it and it was tearing down the front of his face — they hadn’t even noticed (enough said).

Awesome place! Staff is so friendly and helpful. My first time here I had no clue what to do. They walked me thru step by step and even brought out a special flea shampoo for a rescue pup I was fostering. They were also very patient with clipping his nails (as a street pup he was very finicky). This place is very clean and the prices are more than fair. It’s so nice being able to wash your pup here, saves your back from bending over your home bathtub and your pipes from clogging with hair!!!
I haven’t tried their full service grooming, but plan to do so soon! Check them out!

This is a great place to bring your dogs in for grooming or self serve washing. We have been coming to Vhea’s for over 4yrs. They have always treated us and our fur babies so nice.
While they were closed bc of a relocation I had to take my dogs to another groomer and my dogs were always so scared when I picked them. At Vhea’s rest assured that your pup is in the best care.
A few months ago one of my pups had really bad skin allergies. Vhea helped me with his skin situation by recommending some great shampoos they have for the self serve washing. She also recommended us switching to all natural food (which they have there) and it has worked wonders for my little guy. I can’t tell you enough how great the people here are and Vhea really cares about each doggy customer.

I would highly recommend this joint. I have 3 big dogs and took one today to test out the self service facilities before I committed to taking them all in. The guy at the desk was very friendly and helpful. He was bathing dogs next to me while I was bathing mine and he was very gentle and you could tell he really enjoyed his job and dogs. Most of these places the staff seems so put off by dogs, but not this guy. He was great.
I really liked the atmosphere and the lack of designer little dogs. Nothing I hate more than walking into a doggy snob pet shop. I have a pit bull, border collie mix, and a lab mix and usually get crazy looks when I bring them into a place with nothing but chihuahuas, shih tzu, and Pomeranians. I took my pit bull today for the test run and she loved it. No crazy looks and she was treated like any other dog. Thank you Vhea’s for the no breed restrictions!

They always do a great job on my chow. I know my dog personally hates blow dryers and will retaliate by barking incessantly into the dryer. Sigh. Usually when I call they can fit me in on the same day. They do a great job cutting/​trimming her and giving her a nice bath so she’s all fluffy and clean when I pick her up.
One thing I do like is they are efficient with their time, she’s usually ready within half a day (remember: 45 lb fluffy dog of blow dryer hatred) and I think that’s a pretty fast turn around time for her. Hopefully she continues behaving so I can keep taking her back!

After my I moved my mom here last year, I also inherited her twin «terrors» I understand they call them «poodles».
Story #1…Anyway, I used a place close to the house (DDD), but it was disorganized with paperwork and manual processes during check-in’s and check out’s. Being a software guy, it’s maddening. But hey — operate how you like, just don’t make the wait seem like forever and stop asking me for the same info again and again. A little customer service training would also be a big plus, like simply acknowledging that I am standing there. «Are you here to drop off?» No, I just walked in with these two dogs to look at what I can only guess is at least $ 50,000 of capital not working packed, stacked and displayed everywhere. While you check this stack of paperwork, wait — maybe that one… no it’s in here somewhere. This last straw was when both of the pets got fleas and I mean FLEA INFESTATION! I called and was told that all dogs in the Lakewood area have them because of the mild winter. (funny that, mom has lived here since Aug of 2011 and we walk them twice a day with no problem). Okay, what can I do? Answer: bring them back and pay for some kind of flea dip or oil or magic potion. No thanks, buh-​bye.
Story # 2… Searched this site and Google for another place in close proximity. Wound up with (un)HappyTails. And by that I mean burn my ass because you talked to me like I’m in Jr. High and am irresponsible for being late to drop the dogs off to be groomed. «Ummmm…we don’t usually allow you to drop off late if you’re more than 15 minutes late — lemme see what I can do — I’ll have to ask.» Really? You have to ask? I’m the 1^st person to be late for my appointment? Okay. I gaze at the empty parking lot while they conclave. She returns — with a posse — who each takes a turn telling me how terribly critical it is to be there on time. Time is everything! I say that I called and, can this be right, your answering machine tells it’s customers when you will and when you will not answer incoming calls? You know, the kind someone might make when they’re running late? Yes. «We’ll do it… but only this time. Especially because you’re new.» (and retarded and irresponsible). I pick them up and am still so steamed because I had to beg them to take my money. F that nonsense. I would call but…
Enter our 3^rd and final story: Vhea’s Laundromutt… nice place, easy to find, cool staff that knows animals and what’s more, wants to know it’s customers. Every interaction was flawless but not formal. Calls me by name, knows the dogs names, remembers that last time we were there. The service is unique (I haven’t tried the do-​it-​yourself, but I just might), the shop is small but busy and well managed. But let’s get to the point — what’s the competitive advantage? The level of service dear friends. Example #1: we are driving back to Dallas from Tulsa and I called to ask what time they closed — he told me and also promptly told me that he’d stay late if we wanted to pick up the pooches «because I know your mom really loves those Helen and Jazzy — it’s not a problem.» Wow. Needless to say that guy got a handsome tip. Example #2: I took them in to get bathed and mentioned the flea thing. I was immediately met with a very well thought out and easy to understand explanation of dogs and fleas. Even as she was speaking she was writing down the high points on a note card and encouraging me to try them out. No up-​sell. No denial like some others («this year ALL dogs are going to have fleas…») Just a crisp and casual advisory and encouragement that it can be easily remedied. I inquires about a frequent flier discount if I just brought them in every Saturday. «No — that’s too often» says the nice lady «once a month is fine… dogs need their natural essential oils and emoluments or they will be back to scratching because they could get dry skin.» Again, no up-​sell, no crazy talk.
And with that, a thank you and a kiss for both dogs and a hug for mom. I asked who the nice gal was…“Oh — that was Vhea.” I turned around and looked for the tip jar. Again.
I don’t like these dogs or the responsibility, but I love my mom and I LOVE VHEA’S LAUNDROMUTT!!!

I went here the day before Thanksgiving for a bath and nail trim for my beagle. The staff was very nice and clearly liked dogs. They did a good job with the bath and they also have some treats for sale. Prices were about what I’d expect.
I was extremely thankful that they were able to work him in on short notice. I’d called several places before I went over and none had availability.
The thing that gives me a bit of pause was how chaotic it felt. However, it was a very busy day. It was also very loud: concrete floors, lots of dogs, hair dryers going. When I dropped my dog off he seemed more nervous than usual and was trying to get out from the fenced area and staying on the very edge of the room. (I think because of all of the noise.)
I would definitely give them another try on a less insane day — I realize that my day before Thanksgiving may not be fair to judge by.

We’ve been going to Vhea’s since we moved to Dallas three years ago. The new location is great (10 610 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75 218).
They are amazing with the animals and it is obvious that they are true dog lovers. We have a Pittbull mix and they understand the breed. Our dog is not only a senior dog with arthritis but he also has very sensitive skin. They do an amazing job with him. I feel completely comfortable when I leave him to be bathed (unlike places in the past where I was a nervous wreck).
Truly a one of a kind place that’s clean and the staff rocks!

The laundromutt is open! They just relocated onto Garland road.
What is cool about this place is that they have a do-​it-​yourself option. They provide all the stuff you need: the shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner, etc. and even an apron to help keep you dry. Plus a spray you put on your dog at the end that smells amazing!
They also have the option for the groomer do it for you. They do a great job, and are very patient with dogs who are nervous about being groomed.
Bottom Line: I would recommend this facility to a friend.

Great place to take your pooch for a bath. They offer full-​service washing and do it yourself. This is just great for me and my little sheltie! They also offer a de-​shedding treatment that I highly recommend.
Vhea‘s also carry a full line of holistic products, offer boarding, and had a adoptions as well. This is just a great facility!

I took a dog that I fostered here for Dallas Pets Alive and they did a wonderful job on her. I rescued her from the animal shelter and instead of shaving the dog down before spaying her, they left her all completely matted with dreadlocks, mats, ticks, fleas. It was absolutely horrible and you could smell the poor pup from like 5 ft away. Vhea’s did such a wonderful job with her and Lola looks like new! They turned her from a complete mess to a pretty little princess. Lola is now so much happier to finally be clean and shaven off. You can tell she is so much happier and has brightened up. I am so thankful for Vhea’s!

Yay! Vhea is open again! On Garland Road! So glad she is serving East Dallas again. We have missed you!

This was my first experience at a self-​service optional place like Vhea’s. My dog has short hair so there’s not really any point in paying someone else $$$$ to just give her a bath. Here, for a medium sized dog, it’s $ 15 to use their facilities. They provide shampoo and conditioner, and ear cleaning drops and pads, and they clip their nails, too. It’s a pretty good deal and the facilities are nice enough. The shampoo and conditioner seemed like they had been watered down, and I had to use a lot to be satisfied. The staff was super friendly though and obviously really likes animals!
However, I just don’t feel comfortable giving this place a higher rating because I definitely wouldn’t go back. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there were a lot of dogs being boarded. They seemed to be having a nice time, but just in the thirty or so minutes I was there I saw two dogs pee on the floor and the smell of the place is almost enough to knock you down when you walk in. I understand there are a lot of dogs in the room, but I don’t think that necessarily means the whole place should smell like pee? Maybe those two dogs weren’t house trained very well, or maybe it’s hard to get dogs not to pee on the floor when the whole place smells like pee, or maybe they hadn’t taken the dogs out in a while.. .I don’t know and I wouldn’t speculate, but I would not board my dog here.

Is it possible to give more than 5 Stars?
I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember and can’t even think of a time where I’ve seen groomers take such a personal and vested interest in both the pets and the owners.
In addition, the prices are insanely good for the services you get.
I first called my local big chain pet store to get an estimate on how much it would be to have my dog groomed and clipped.
I was told around $ 40 – 50 give or take. And they were booked until that Monday.
How much at Vheas? Around $ 28. Same day service.
In addition, I had been searching for an elk bone as well as new dog food brands for my pup. Not only did I find an elk bone at a VERY reasonable price, but I wad also given some dog food samples to try out.
I simply cannot express how great this place is.

Yep, yep, I like this place a lot. The price was reasonable, the cut was great! I absolutely, positively WILL be back!

Vhea’s Laundromutt is a place where you can have your dog groomed or you can self wash your own dog and leave the mess there instead of at home. They have daycare and sell great holistic dog foods. Vhea is a true dog lover and a great person. They host adoption events and she partners to help a lot of the local rescues.
My personal experience with Vhea was about a month ago when I adopted a rescue. My pup had been staying at her place until she found a forever home and Vhea was great about answering my questions and giving a wealth of info on what foods to get for my super allergic dog. All of which have been right on. Her staff is great as well, I could tell when we recently went back for a visit and my pup wagged her little but at every staff member. This is a great place, if you are in this area check it out.

I have a 160 lb dog.
He is 100 lbs of hair.
He is 60 lbs of drool.
Needless to say, I do NOT wash him myself. He gets the full 9 hr, $ 200 groom treatment from a fancy schmancy doggie salon every few months or so, but it’s pretty costly — so in between he gets trips to Vhea’s for quick baths or brush outs or hairstyle «maintenance» :)
I know you can wash your dog yourself, and that’s cheap and great — but we prefer just to drop him off and come back after a few drinks to a clean and happy dog, so it’s nice that they offer that option for a lot less than a grooming salon.
They truly love animals and are very knowledgeable — ask about grooming, food, nail care, ear infection — you name it and they have seen it.
I love that they bring their own dogs to work with them, and they often host doggie adoption events or wash for a cause days where percentage of the proceeds goes to an organization helping homeless pups get the loving homes they deserve.

After a big night on the town, that includes doogie biscuits, ruff beer, and stray, lonely divas in heat, my boyz (dogs) come home and are ready to get cleaned up. So what do I do? I take them to the nearest spot I can find — — Vhea’s!
If you’re doing the bath yourself, they offer soaker towels and a high output dryer that won’t burn your pooch. I personally prefer to take my own shampoo as I have never found a brand that lifts the grime off better than mine; esp after a long nite from their ruthless partying.
10 self baths get 1 free… that’s pretty cool!
