Verona

Awesome maintenance group. Very prompt and efficient with repairs. Watch out for bright street lights in your bedroom windows if you are on a low floor though! Always try to get in the tower to avoid noise and light pollution!

We have lived here now for nearly 4 months. We moved from a lake town and a house on 5 acres. We moved here based off the reviews, the location, the safety and We had paid for our apartment before we ever visited the building.
Things you expect:
They have wonderful people who work here. Kevin, Chris, and Jerry and an occasional part time guy greet and say goodbye to everyone coming through the lobby, they are there from morning until 2am (I believe). The residents bring these guys snacks and treats. These guys give a treat to my dog every time and peppermint a for us humans sit right at the elevator.
The grounds are kept. I see lawn care at least once a month– I’m not home a lot in the day (could be more). The staff provide baggies for pet waste and for the residents (not too many) who don’t pick up, I’ve seen staff picking up trash and waste to keep it clean and sanitary.
They vacuum the carpeted hallways. They have trash picked up 3 times a week, most apartments have a valet door– it’s amazing and safe.
You pay for pest service and I have yet to see a bug, except for a wasp that flew in from outside (terrified of bees).
Gated garage. Permit parking so you don’t have to battle for parking. Clean. Trash always emptied. When it rains it does leak and some spots tend to drip, if you love your car you can speak to Kevin who will help you out! Thank you Kevin! There is storage here as well, however I have never used it so I can’t tell you anything except some have doors and some are in fences with netting.
The hallways are lit ²⁴⁄₇ and are temperature controlled. The hallway walls are painted and are very pleasing.
Not expected:
They have two nightly rentals in the building, for your quests. I believe they are around $ 86 a night. I think the rentals are 2 bedroom 2 bath.
They have a covered garage quest parking. I say this is not expected because it’s so close to the Galleria, they could have said all guest park over there.
Security and safety. The garage is gated. The doors are key controlled. The guest can get in the elevator and ride only to the lobby floor, only.
They send happy birthdays through emails and active housing website. So thoughtful!
They have a lot of resident events. As I said I’m from a lake town and in the country. It’s nice to see flyers and receive emails about the «happenings» I have seen a couple events celebrating residents, a dress boutique show, cool stuff.
At least once a month Picasso’s pizza is sold in the lobby for $ 5.
The things that could be better.
The billing. It’s confusing. They put it all together (which is great) but the bills don’t always arrive at the same time. So you log in and pay your rent and water. Then you get an email saying the electricity has been added ²⁄₄ days later. You have 2 days to pay or receive $ 50 a day if paid for on the 3^rd day. (It’s understandable, yes but they don’t load it until the 1^st.) if you can pay ahead and let the money set it works great especially with the electricity charges always being added later. It’s not terrible. It’s just not super easy. Angela does all of this and I am by no means saying she doesn’t do a great job. She does and I appreciate it.
The elevators on the two wing buildings. They are extremely slow. They work. They are safe. But if you use the tower elevator you will be envious. It’s fast. Super fast.
To be mentioned.
I have sent an email maybe twice to the buildings general email account– a response was received very quickly! Even walking my dog, Kevin asked me it out of the blue if it was taken care of!
The side buildings (wings) are not made of concrete floors or so another resident has said. You can be in the hallway and hear upstairs, as well as be in your apartment and hear people above you walking. You can’t hear conversations or Tvs. Just thuds and bumps.
The residents I have met are wonderful. The pets are mostly wonderful as well. The staff is exceptional. The building and location for me are the BEST– shopping, food, Target, and 8 minutes from work.
Mena is a wonderful manager, A++. She is very kind and does a great job as do all the staff I have encountered. If you are looking here look at the wide range of different floor plans. The amenities are great– fancy coffee, pool area, pool and hot tub, work out room, movie theater room, pool table, two outdoor dog areas, popcorn, computer center, cigar room, conference room and two casual lobby areas. They can be reserved!
It’s not home but it’s home away from home. We love it.

It’s probably very difficult to run an apartment building this size and there are bound to be things the way they are because of that. So here’s the good, the bad and the odd.
The good — the men at the Front Desk are fabulous. Kevin, Jerry and Chris are ALWAYS attentive and pleasant. It is like having a personal valet there at all hours (except you have to share them — drats!). The good — they allow dogs of all sizes. The good — wonderful amenities — theater room, game room, business room, pool, gas grills, free coffee (good stuff, too!!!) and popcorn. The good — the location, the view, and reserved parking!
The bad — elevators on the sides that are hotter than they need to be (hey — spring for a low-​heat output bulb). The bad — Some residents that have obnoxious, yappy dogs that they walk when others are sleeping. These are usually the same people that don’t pick up after the dogs. The bad — the storage areas in the garage are mostly chain-​linked fenced-​in and there will be a greasy grime on anything not covered up.
The odd (not good or bad — just odd) — apartment management that really doesn’t seem to care if they know the residents or not, yet have several resident events where they attend. The odd — only 2 gas grills for the entire building (although it was rare if they were both being used at the same time).
The good vastly outweighed the bad. There are no ½ stars or ¾ stars and I would give them a 4.5 or a 4.75. With just a couple of tweaks, there would never be a vacancy in this place. I would definitely live there again if I needed a place.

I recently relocated out of state but was a resident at the Verona for the last 2 and a half years. I definitely recommend living at the Verona to anyone interested in living in this area. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They actually take the time to know you by name. Maintenance is prompt with repairs and requests. The online portal makes it very easy to submit requests, make payments and also alerts you when packages arrive for you. The complex itself is fairly quiet with occasional dog barks from the courtyard which is expected with pet friendly apartments. The pet policy is one main reason I decided on the Verona. I have a large dog and it is hard to come across apartments like the Verona that do not have weight restrictions. The 2 courtyards make apartment living with a dog much easier. The overall building appearance is always kept up both inside and outside. The only thing that bothered me was the lack of air conditioning in the side elevators during the summer months. Other than that, I really enjoyed living there and will miss it.

Whatever you do, do NOT trust this guy named Vince. He shows you around and blurts shXX. out of his mouth. After you sign the lease, none of those things is true. No integrity!

My favorite place to stay. Home. They do a great job of property management. They keep up with most everything. The only complaint I have is regarding the two ENTIRELY too slow elevators on the sides of the building. They are also lacking AC. Other than that, a great place to live north of the border (LBJ).

Verona is great! I have lived here with my family since I was a junior in high school. It is now over 4 years later and I am moving to my own apartment in the same building! I just can’t imagine living anywhere else. Judy is always extremely sweet and professional. She gets things done. If something needs attending to someone is always right on top of it. The staff has changed from time to time but it has never influenced the flow of the building. I would recommend Verona to anyone.

Went apartment hunting with my then-​girlfriend a couple of years ago. We found this place, got an apartment tour and fell in love with all the amenities and location. The location is fantastic, but the management is easily one of the worst. Judy, the general manager, is very rude and unapologetic. We showed up with our moving trucks on the day we were supposed to move in, and no one had any idea we were even coming. This was a couple of weeks after we signed our lease. So here we are, with movers that are being paid by the hour waiting outside, and no one knows what’s going on. We get the keys to our apartment, only to find out that nothing had ever been cleaned and that the carpet was filthy. We accepted this as a fluke and thought «hey, mistakes happen, right?» Wrong. This was just the beginning.
A week after we moved in, the roof started leaking water and spilled all over my iPod dock and iPod. When I tried to talk to Judy about it, instead of offering reimbursement, she offered a six pack of Miller Lite. Yes, you read that right. Then after arguing with her, she finally took a little off our next month’s rent.
About 8 months later, we started looking at the idea of moving to a larger apartment in the building. When Judy took us to look around, she was very rude and would interrupt us. At that point, we decided that we were going to stay in our same apartment. As we were about to leave the property, we found out that Judy had left, so we decided to renew our lease. A few months after our lease was renewed, she returned to the property and the same style of management was back with a vengeance.
When we moved out, Judy had the audacity to charge us $ 1300 for «damages» to our apartment. Keep in mind that this apartment was filthy and disgusting when we moved in, and that there were spots on the carpet, but she wouldn’t budge. If it wasn’t for the things I’ve seen apartment complexes do to other people’s credit reports, I would have not paid it.
I will say this, Kevin who works at the front door, and Max, who works the maintenance staff, are both standout guys. Kevin was always nice and attentive. Max was always quick to take care of issues right away.
There are tons of better places to go to other than the Verona. Beware of Judy. If you don’t believe me, Google this place.

I moved in around August of last year after viewing a number of properties in the Addison area. I made my decision based on a few factors mainly security; fob controlled gates and elevators, indoor underground parking, 9+ cameras on site monitored by security with video monitors available to see through your TV. The staff is warm and friendly and actually know your name plus paying your rent and utilities online is nice. The amenities are great with a lot of well done items decorated in a very modern style. The pictures on the website of the property don’t do it justice, go see it in person!

We moved here two months ago from a beautiful home. We love this place. The staff is the best and Judy the general manager is so professional. When we had a problem with a neighbor she handled it right away and made everyone feel better. The staff at the Verona makes the residents feel like they are at the top of the list. Everything is so clean and well kept. They treat our puppy son every time they see him. He loves it here too. You can’t go wrong living here. This is the first apartment I’ve ever lived in and I feel it will be my last home. Thank you Verona staff!

Outstanding high rise living, professional staff, excellent amenities. After 30+ years in 2 houses nearby… we may never leave Verona. i’m just saying…:)
