Closed! Sign is still there, but is now a dive bar. No one even acknowledged us as we entered, sat ourselves, waited and then left.

GRANDOPENING! This is my new favorite place! I had an amazing meal with amazing service. I know sometimes food is a matter of preference, but everything I ate at Ve Ve tasted marvy! LUNCHUPDATE – Lunch was excellent. I had salmon and green olive tostadas. Prices for the lunches run around $ 6. Had the Adam and Eve dessert… there were apples involved, and a buttery liquor sauce served on ice cream. It was great. Service still amazing. Can’t wait for the bar to open! FIRSTDINNER – Because it was their first night open there was complimentary potato cup with a side of amazing slaw… note I do not even like slaw. We ordered the sauce of the day with a side of bread. They brought out a giant bowl of creamy green chili and avocado soup, with lime; side of lightly toasted course brown bread. My daughter pronounced it the best thing she has ever tasted in her long 11 years of life. She and I proceeded to fight over the bowl like three year-olds. She won. We split a combo plate that had fried bananas crusted in what tasted like cinnamon and sugar, charred black refried beans, two chicken mole enchiladas, and some beef steak. Everything was amazing. Mole enchiladas were spicy, perfect counter to the sweet. The chef brought us out a plate of cream cheese, honey and avocado to be smeared on crackers. I would have never thought about combining avocado, cream cheese and honey… but I will now. I couldn’t believe how good it was. I almost cried. Then we ordered strawberry crepes for dessert. They were buttery and creamy and full of sweet strawberries. They put crepes from the likes of Café Brazil to shame, but then these were not your breakfast styled crepes. They were so rich, they finished the meal perfectly. The menu was full of great sounding seafood dishes including stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon, corn quesadillas with octopus, and tilapia in pecan sauce. I didn’t look at the lunch menu but I know there are lunch specials to be had and will go back on Friday to check it out. It does have it’s kinks to work out, but they are so tiny it’s not worth mentioning. The décor was dark with jazz guitar accents. The space has been totally transformed. It’s pretty inside with an earthy jazz feel. The bar is still a few days short for the liquor license but otherwise looked ready to go. I can’t wait. I’m thinking this may be the place where everyone knows my name.
