Travis Salon Uptown is a trendy, yet intimate, salon. Located inside a charming old house, the salon is near Gold’s Gym on McKinney Avenue. The friendly staff of three caters to both men and women. The salon also sells the high-​end Bumble and bumble line of beauty products.

Great place! I just moved so sadly will not be able to make the trip over to Travis Salon anymore. Tim cut my hair and is extremely friendly and great at what he does. Prices are very reasonable. There was never a need to go anywhere else. These guys get the job done and do it in a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. I would highly recommend to anyone!

This place is great I first say Tim and he was extremely good and helped shaped my hair. I wanted to go short and with such short notice, Tim was booked and Robert had an opening and WOW he did a great job!!! Love my new hair style thank you.

This place was amazing. I usually go to another salon, but they were booked this weekend. I looked up Travis Salon for their good ratings and decided to go. This is definitely a five star salon! My stylist was Robert Dijas and he was so friendly and welcoming. I let him know what I wanted and he was able to give me advice on different options. Throughout the process of getting my hair cut and dried he gave me very useful tips on how to maintain my hair healthy until my next visit. I am definitely switching over from Osgood Oneil to Travis Salon with Robert. Wonderful service, welcoming atmosphere, and top of the line expertise.

Stylist Robert Dijas does a fabulous job! I always look forward to having my hair styled by Robert. I had short hair but Robert helped keep my hair looking fabulous when undecided to grow it out. He walked me through a totally new style. In addition the atmosphere of Uptown Salon is relaxing and welcoming. Great salon!

Just got one of the best haircuts of my life from Robert. I’m very particular about my hair and have struggled with keeping it long or going back short. I was given great advice as to the aspects of both cuts. I went short again and couldn’t be happier with the cut. I’ll be back in 4 weeks!

Travis Salon is an exceptional salon with friendly staff. The atmosphere is relaxed, I felt at home. My hair looks absolutely amazing today because of Robert Dijas. My hair is extremely curly and I needed a color touch up. Ash brown is what I love and Robert is able to execute it perfectly. The color, cut, and style is exactly how I wanted and described. Highly recommend it.

My wife and I just moved to uptown Dallas and I needed a trim. For the past 7 years i have sported a 9−10″ ponytail and as usual, I needed to trim around my neck and cut the split ends. I chose Travis based on the reviews here. I tell Tim, the owner, to cut off an inch or two and clean up the neck unless he had a better plan. Well, he did. I went for it! I LOVE my new short style. Best of all, my wife loves it. In Tim’s words, I am beautified. All the good things said in other reviews are true and do not need to be repeated. This is my new, favorite salon and my first review on Unilocal

After twenty five years my regular hair stylist quit the business. I shopped several salons and specialty barbers with no satisfaction. I came across Tim Travis Salon and have been an exclusive customer for a year now. The pricing is very competitive and the team is professional. They offer quality work in a very comfortable environment. Really, it just does not get any better.

Womp. What a fail! I went there based off of other Unilocal reviews for a haircut. Thinking it would be a) good and b) not as expensive as some of the other salons in uptown. WRONG! $ 70 for a trim? Not even 1 ½ inches off my hair? Better luck going to one of the other salons in uptown or the Dallas area. If it’s as expensive, at least you get the ‘high end salon’ feel.

Tim is great and always on time! Moved from Los Angeles last year and he was the first salon I tried and was glad I found him! He is very affordable. He also knows how to cut Asian hair. def a plus! I’m sure if you tired him or one of his stylists you would be very happy!

True story: the guy who normally cut my hair was unavailable indefinitely and I had an event to attend. I was in a jam. So I hop on Unilocal and read the reviews for salons near my building. Travis Salon had great reviews and now I know why.
I called and spoke to Tim Travis who was booked solid until next week. He referred me to Manuel. Manuel answered on the first ring and found me a same day opening. So far so good.
I will keep this review simple: best hair cut I’ve ever had! Seriously. Manuel was fantastic and these guys have a nice, clean and friendly atmosphere at their salon. I love it. They just won a new regular!

So, I’ve had a shaved head for the past 5 years. Before then, I’d just go to those cheap $ 5 haircut places and get the generic mens cut ha. I’ve been growing it out for over 2 months now, and got to the point where I needed to do something with it.
I e-​mailed Tim, let him know of my situation and that I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair, and we set an appointment. The salon is pretty cool, looks like they turned a nice little Uptown house into a salon. I showed him a few pictures on my phone I pulled off the internet of certain hairstyles I’d like to emulate, and we were on the same page.
Shampoo, haircut, shampoo, and style. For a guy who’s been shaving his own head for the past 5 years, this was a different experience for me ha. Love the way it turned out, Tim really knows what he’s doing. My wife and I were very impressed with how everything looked.
Will definitely be coming back and recommending Tim and Travis Salon. Great service, atmosphere, and haircut/​style.

My regular salon couldn’t get me in for weeks, so I turned to Unilocal to find a good backup for men’s cuts. Enter Travis Salon. I’m so impressed that this backup has just become my new regular stylist.
I really like the relaxed, no stress vibe at Tim’s salon, and the professionalism. If my appointment is for 11:30 and I show up at 11:30 — he is ready for me. I have found far too often that salons are often running anywhere between 20 minutes and an hour behind.
In addition to being a great stylist, Tim has magic fingers. I thought I was going to fall asleep at the shampoo bowl.

Moving from Cali, I had a great stylist… then I met Sibel and had my hair cut at this cute, quaint cottage salon. The ambiance is comfortable, great music flowing sets the tone along with the fav Bumble and Bumble product.
Sibel gives great advice on how to style yourself and is a professional in every way… even giving great pointers on personal fashion and life in general. She obviously «shows» what she says… great style, magnetic personality and amazing hair… yeah, I have found my new stylist for life!

I moved to Dallas almost a year ago, and its taken this long for me to find Travis Salon Uptown.
As a guy, we usually get the shaft when it comes to haircuts. Not as much hair, don’t do the highlights, and longer periods of time between appointments means we usually get a shoddy haircut (even if they charge an outrageous amount for it).
No more sirs! Travis Salon is a small cozy salon that carries Bumble and Bumble products (which smell amazing) and gives quality haircuts for cheaper than any of the other «salons» i’ve been to. It’s not supercuts, that’s for sure!
Tim is an excellent stylist, and knows what he’s doing to a T. Here’s hoping I can reproduce what he fashioned with my hair.

I am very picky when it comes to who cuts my hair. I have had nightmares in the past but this place exceeded my expectations.
I had just moved to Dallas and needed a haircut. I read the previous Unilocal reviews and decided to give this place a shot. It is a house that has been turned into a salon and it is very cozy. The stylists are very friendly and the price is very reasonable for a great hair cut!
The person who previously cut my hair botched it completely and I needed someone to fix it. I made an appointment with Tim and he was able to fix my hair. Also, I have a calic so it makes my hair hard to part. He is the first hair stylist that suggested parting on the opposite side. First haircut I have loved in awhile!!!
My haircut turned out great and I will definitely be returning there.
