This is a regular breakfast place where you can order eggs and pancakes. I didn’t think it was that great. Their pancakes are chewy and the syrup is watery. The grits are a little on the watery side. I prefer ihop over this place. The wait is also long on weekends.

Food selection here is egg-cellent. *Crickets* Not only do I love a good breakfast pun, I dig a legit breakfast menu and The Original Pancake House does theirs right. I’m a savory over sweet girl for breakfast/brunch so I was stoked to see they had tons of options other than pancakes/crepes/waffles along with smaller portioned meals and healthy items. I got the Benham – poached eggs, shaved ham and hollandaise over an English muffin(how this differs from a Benedict I have no clue). I got the hollandaise on the side since it’s fatty deliciousness and my heart and hips can only handle about a tablespoon. When they brought it out on the side it was in a cup that would hold grits – eeks — I don’t need that much! Regardless, it was a great, lighter meal. I also dig that you can get hashbrowns on the side vs. pancakes, bestill my carb loving heart! We got here around 930A and it was pretty empty but a huge wait when we left around 11A so be prepared when you come here!

I have been wanting to try this place since moving here in Sept. My daughter loves eating breakfast anytime of the day. So she came out to visit and decided to go to The Original Pancake House. Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed with the service and how long it to get our meal. From our drinks, the waiter remembered our drinks and ran to the back to get them. Then our meals took at least 15 minutes longer than it should have and saw again the waiter running to the back to get our food. Very unsatisfied with the amount or lack of amount of breakfast food on the plate. There was much more plate than food. Just bad all around. Found a diner down the street that was so much better. Sorry, I won’t be coming back here.

The food was fantastic! The service was great and Jay did an amazing job. However, I’m quite confused why 3 tables(one that had a bigger party), who were seated after us served their food first and we waited ten minutes longer for our’s to come out. I had sausage and eggs with a side of pancakes. Amazing and delicious. Jay ended the experience with a fond farewell that would have me coming back if it weren’t for the huge delay in food. i guess anybody who would’ve sat in our spot would have experience what we did. We just got the short end of the stick.

Our server, Lori, was great! I traveled to Dallas from Atlanta and was so happy to see an Original Pancake house right down the street from my hotel. They were packed and the wait was 20 minutes. So, I hit the walmart and waited on a text message. Got my text and headed back. Promptly was seated and Lori greeted my family with a smile and told us she would be right back with us. She had a great suggestion for al la carte items and our food was out in less than 15 minutes. She checked on us frequently and made sure we like our selections. Food was great! She dropped our check and we paid at the cashier. Tip: parking… be patient. Lol!

This place is a refreshing change for breakfast goers. Basically the same items, but with a Dutch spin on things. I cannot say how authentic the Dutch theme is, but I can say that their food is much more fresh And less greasy than competitors. I had the western omelette, which comes baked and is fantastic. My husband had the best French toast we’ve ever had, plain sourdough French toast. Our server was very sweet. The restaurant itself was very cozy and seemed clean. They also have great coffee, which is a must for a good breakfast spot! Overall I would say that this restaurant is worth a try.

2 stars as the food is most of the time very good. I must say thought that service is always terrible; and it seems be an issue with staffing, get more people on the floor! More servers/kitchen, faster food, better turn around– less wait time. TA-DA! I have been here 5 – 7 times on the weekend, and I always have to wait at least 30 minutes. Also, my waitress always stops by after 5 minutes of finally being seated and states, I’ll be right with you. Comes back another 5 minutes later and takes order. Drinks and coffee come out piecemeal. Meals sometimes do not come out all at once. few things— 1)their little coffee bar is quite delicious! I tend to order a latte and that helps with the wait time as well! But the plain coffee is nothing special and begs to be diluted with cream and sweet and low. I like to drink my coffee black, but theirs does not taste great. 2) make sure you are ordering a big versus small stack of pancakes. My boyfriend ended up with only 3 silver dollar sized pancakes with his 2 eggs last visit. He definitely could eat the big stack.(But their pancakes and waffles are worth the wait) 3)NEVER order scrambled eggs. They make them in a large batch, and I am not sure that they are actually eggs or that powder stuff. Their over medium eggs are much better.

First time here visiting from put of town … Had the pancakes and sausage. honestly the food was a little better then OK but not great the service could have been better if he slowed down and paid a little bit more attention to the customer instead of running around every 5 sec

I don’t think we will return. From being greeted by the waiter asking, «Oh, is she going to attack me??»(referring to my girlfriend’s service dog) to having to get up and find someome to ask for our silverware to eat the food already on our table, it was a less than pleasant experience. When our food came out, it was wrong/missing things like syrup for pancakes and it took a very long time to get someone’s attention to fix it. We finally flagged down the manager, told her what we needed and mentioned that we hadn’t seen our waiter in awhile. Instead of an apology, she asked if «that was all». This was the same manager who was there when I got up to ask for silverware(still no apology from anyone). The waiter finally made it back over and explained to us why he had been gone so long(still no apology). A bunch of little things that could’ve been easily corrected added up to a very strange and unpleasant breakfast. We will not be back.

Not worth the time or money. I came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and expected to wait for a table. We lounged around in the waiting area until being called. The place was busy and loud. I was hoping it would be similar to the Honolulu location but was disappointed on so many levels. It took 10 minutes after being seated for anyone to take a drink order and even then we had to stop someone to take it. The entire meal my wife had no drink and I had to take silverware from another table; after asking multiple times for a set. Our order also came in stages and was incorrect. Majority of the food that came out tasted good but our eggs just tasted disgusting. We took one bite and just asked for them to be trashed. The 49er flap jacks were the only thing that didn’t disappoint but even that could save this terrible experience. Our waters never filled our water and still my wife never got a drink. I understand being busy and short staffed during peak hours; but this was ridiculous. Having to wait so long to order after waiting a good amount of time to be seated. Then having to retrieve my own silverware and my with never getting a drink. I’m going to stick to my Honolulu location to eat and forget that this location exist.

Well, won’t be going back here again. We waited 50 minutes for some French toast, a monte cristo and half a sandwich and soup. When we finally got our food, our waiter forgot several of the things that we had asked for. The monte cristo did not come with jelly sauce, my bacon was MIA and we didn’t have silverware. Let me state that I am not a cook. However, I make better French toast than they do. Their’s tasted like egg wash on top of flavorless dough. I also told the waiter that I prefer my French toast with a little crunch, a little crispy. Did that happen? No! So, now in left sitting after 50 minutes with nothing but an empty stomach. The Monte Cristo was not what I expected, either. I was thinking it would be like the one that Bennigan’s used to have, where it was really crispy and had the delicious jelly and powdered sugar… nope. It was more like a crêpe with lunch meat turkey and generic, store brand cheese. I can’t understand how this place is still around with this poor quality diner food. IHOP and Denny’s both have better tasting and quality food than pancake house. The only thing I can figure is that this place has been around forever and people just go here out of habit. That’s all for my rant. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go find something to eat.

This place has a nice ambience and décor. The wall is adorned with black and white photos, nice and classy. I ordered Dutch baby and a cup of hot tea. The wait was long around 20 minutes. My favorite for Dutch pancakes is still the Old South pancake house in Fort Worth but this place also doesn’t disappoint. It has smaller size of pancake here and you have to work on your pancake yourself(sprinkling the lemon juice — put a lot of it and the extra powdered sugar too!) while in Old South your waitress will do that for you. All in all, it’s not a bad visit. I enjoyed the food and the tea and a good book while waiting!

Staying at a hotel right down the street, I was determined to find a decent breakfast spot nearby. There were several choices but this place was my go-to spot during my business trip in the area. Why? They have a huge menu and seem to serve breakfast all day. Another reason is the fact that they have a breakfast counter, where a solo business traveler can sit and eat without having to get a dreaded table for one(dreaded by both solo occupant and server alike). The restaurant is very comfortable and the food is served very quickly. I came back each morning for breakfast, so that says something. My only gripes, and reasons against giving 5 stars, are that the food could be hotter(it was always warm but never exactly hot) and the sausage patties were very dry.

Ahhhh, I spoke too soon. My last review praised their consistency but this morning was a total bust. My usual glass of fresh squeezed OJ tasted watered down and was bitter as grapefruit juice. Maybe that’s why they’re watering it down but it was way too sour for my daughter. The chocolate chip pancakes are usually packed with chips but this morning the cook threw a few chips on top of pancakes. Not a single chip to be found in the batter! We sent them back and they came back better but still leaving something to be desired. Country Eggs Benedict for $ 10.99 was only marginally better than a $ 2.99 sausage egg and cheese biscuit from McDonalds. Big swing and a miss this morning by the Addison team. Worst of all, there was a team of store and regional managers on the floor and none of my complaints merited an intervention. Yes, they removed a few items from the check but the most important things about providing High Quality customer service are to allow the customer to be heard and understood. I felt neither.

2.5 stars(I rounded up). Three dollars for a cup of coffee?! I have been to Starbucks, I have tasted Starbucks. Original Pancake House, you are no Starbucks. Overall not super impressed with the food, although I have only been here once. And despite having the nicest server ever, I probably won’t be back.

For anyone like me who thought this location was open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays, tune in… it isn’t anymore. Their new hours are as follows according to their webpage: Monday — Friday 6:30 am to 2:30 pm Saturday 6:30 am to 3:30 pm Sunday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm We drove in from Austin last night anxious to tuck into some yummy breakfast and found them closed. Sad panda :-(I will say that in the past they were never busy in the evenings, so it makes sense for them to not bother staying open if they aren’t going to turn a profit. We instead came this morning and it was well worth the wait. We found the sweet spot right before the breakfast crowd hit so had no wait for a table which was lovely. Our server had the coffee out in a flash which I always appreciate first thing in the morning. Their coffee is expensive($ 7 for two cups), but the refills are free and it’s strong. It’s served with full fat heavy whipping cream and each sip is bliss. I get the same thing every time which is the strawberry waffle. The DFW locations make the thin waffles and I love them. It comes with freshly whipped cream and sliced strawberries, so the crunch from the thin waffle helps give the plate the texture it needs making each bite the perfect one. My husband always gets their bacon pancakes. I don’t care for them but they are the cheese to his macaroni. He also got a side of eggs and bacon and their bacon is truly something special. It’s thickly sliced and full of juicy pork love. He was nice enough to spare me a slice. The servers will bring your check to the table but you pay up front. This location is also cool because they have a full coffee bar so they can make you any frou frou java drink you like. It’s probably best that we don’t care for the Austin location because I would be 900 pounds if I could eat here with any regularity. We love you OPH!
