This review is only for breakfast. Wow, this hotel and restaurant are just gorgeous!!! Seriously gorgeous. Had breakfast in the sunroom at the restaurant. We ordered 5 different pastries for the table. Very very yummy! I had the pancakes with two types of butter along with warm syrup. I think these were the absolute BEST pancakes I have ever had in my life. Sorry Mom! It has been three days and I am still thinking about how light and fluffy they were especially with the two different butters and the warm syrup on top. I was not a fan of the sausage link that was along side the entrée but then again I really am not a sausage fan. I hope to be down that way soon so I can try this place out for dinner and maybe stay a few nights.

I want to start by saying the service is a 5 star all the way. The service team is very professional and attentive, but not obtrusive. They all deserve to be recognized for their hard work. Let’s start with the basics. You no longer have to dress in a jacket to dine here which some would say is a plus. Personally I think it takes away from what the Mansion is supposed to be. Another thing that has changed, which I’m not sure is the restaurant’s fault but it was extremely loud and obnoxious. Maybe that’s because it has become more of a casual spot. There’s something to be said that when you dress up, you act the part. Instead, we had a table next to us literally playing videos or facetiming. I’m not sure where etiquette has gone. The last thing that was an issue was that we asked for the carte blanche experience which means that the chef is supposed to create a unique dining experience, hence off the menu stuff. We have had this type of meal before at other places and loved it. Instead, it was clear that we had items from the menu and tasting menu. My husband walked by a table and saw the same exact dish we just had and they were doing the tasting menu. It is also a giveaway when two of the servers are able to come by and describe the dish to you. If it was created just for us, then I doubt two servers would know the intricacies just by seeing it on the table. We did not get what they advertised. They should not offer this as an option if it will not be fulfilled.

so this was a bucket list place before i left as this was one of the only 5 star AND5 diamond places like a decade ago. i lost track since then. it was overall great and definitely textbook of a fine dining experience. i recommend against the couches bc if you’re on the small part that curves around it doesn’t go all the way to the end of the table. its just weird. im curious why they haven’t addressed it the place was fine but it was just slow and maybe thats why the energy was just bleh. i wasn’t expecting nick and sams but still it was just stuffy. actually stuffy is the best word to describe it. none of the items on the menu blew us away. it was GOOD and all were great but nothing that changed my life figuratively. usually there is a dish in the tasting that makes you want to slap your momma but nothign did that. again very great meal but nothing that stood out. when i was at uchi, their tasting was the same price and they had one or two that definitely stood out. we had both tastings to try everything jeans: ok if you have a nice shirt

Went there for Easter brunch. Service was HORRIBLE– the waiter didn’t know the cocktails, couldn’t tell us what was in some of the dishes, one of the servers spilled ice and water pouring glasses of water and walked away. Didn’t clean it up. When he came back to bring us bread, almost knocked the glass over onto a guest. There were other service related things that happened during our meal, not in a good way. For $ 125 per head for brunch, you expect the service to be pristine. After all isn’t that the old world style you are looking for when you eat at the mansion? The food was fabulous! No complaints there. I am sad that service has taken such a back seat and it truly was not the beautiful experience we were hoping for on Easter.

I am reviewing a creation of The Mansion’s award-winning pastry chef Nicolas Blouin. I was fortunate enough to taste one of his creations when he visited Sausalito, CA for the 2016 Lexus Culinary grand tasting event. I have to say that The Mansion has a great pastry chef in their hands. You guys eating at The Mansion are so lucky! So don’t skip dessert! Chef Blouin brought an awesome tropical-influenced cake for the event. I tried it and I was hooked! All I needed was one bite to know that Chef Blouin is a pastry genius. His offering was the best bite of food I had during the grand tasting event. Since then, I wanted to follow Chef Blouin and was hoping I could find some if his creations closer to the Bay Area. Can’t wait to hear more from this amazing chef! Just wished he had a Twitter account… Couldn’t find him. So where can I get more of this cake???

The travel zoo deal wasn’t really a deal, the prices were the same, maybe saved $ 8. Bisque was amazing, I didn’t care for the Benedict, I wish it was an English muffin and not a biscuit. Fun date but not worth the deal at all

Went for Valentine’s Day dinner with a superb date! Menu was very selective and the food was bad to just okay. Ambiance was boring as we sat in a room by ourselves most of the evening until another couple came in towards the end of our meal. We had the winter greens salad– all greens with a very strong flavor pinenut, gorgonzola, pear, house raisin confit onion, truffle cream, parmesan broth s u n c h o k e r a v i o l i– all you could taste was the sauce and nothing in the ravioli but broth was good rabbit terrine blacktrumpet, consommégelee — yuck yuck yuck made my husband sick to his stomach v e a l c h e e k creamy farro, chicharrón, pickled onion– taste like roast but the garish/greens on top had such a strong over powering taste t e n d e r l o i n r o s s i n i seared foie gras, sauce périgourdine, kale — kale gross smoked potatoes good not great steak was cooked perfectly at(medium rare) but flavor was just ok gave left overs to my dog l o b s t e r r i s o t t o parmesan, puffed rice, fennel slaw– best thing we had all night however very rich! We both could only have a couple bites and we were done. Had a bottle of wine that was the best thing on the table all All of this for a hefty price of $ 500! No thank you!!! May need to Include that we are both food snobs but we will never return the food was over all a 2 out of 10 but the service was a 10 out of 10!

I decided to host my parents wedding anniversary dinner here, as I wanted to show them the best of Dallas. First the good part: the food. It pains me to say this, but the service needs help. At least in the private dining section. When paying so much(nearly $ 3000) for dinner you shouldn’t feel like you are being nickel and dimed for everything. When shopping around for private rooms, this was the only restaurant that itemized for valet and $ 2.00 printed menu cards! Classy.

The mansion is an amazing place to celebrate something special or just spoil yourself. The ambiance is nice and the food is amazing. My fiancé and i decided to do the tasting menu, which changes seasonally. There wasn’t a course that we didn’t like!!! one thing we did was substitute the pear dessert for the soufflé(i recommend going on Wednesdays because that is when you can order the soufflé). Every course was amazing not to mention the staff and especially our waiter– Ray! he was funny, polite and informative and overall very accommodating and down to earth! can’t wait to come back for brunch or dinner again: D

I usually avoid hotel breakfasts like the plague. Breakfast at the Mansion is not an ordinary breakfast, but I still wouldn’t say you’re getting the best bang for your buck. The service is excellent, and subtle flourishes give a relatively ordinary menu touches of elegance. I enjoyed the breakfast tacos, which were filled with smoked brisket and eggs and accompanied by a charred tomato salsa, cilantro cream, guacamole, and pico. Instead of the advertised hash browns there were tortilla strips topped with beans and cheese.

My wife and I spent a night at The Mansion and had never tried the restaurant, so decided to dine there. We had a drink in the bar before dinner. The waiter was handling so many tables that it took 15 minutes to pay our tab. Glasses of wine went for 3 – 4 times retail cost — not unheard of in high-end restaurants, but you still feel like you’re being ripped off. We then made our way to the restaurant. First, let me say that they are seriously conflicted about dress code. Is there one or not? We wore dressy business casual; the guy next to us had on golf shirt and jeans. Hard to feel the elegance when you have to look at that all night. Service and pacing were fine; attentive and friendly, but not obtrusive. The food is underwhelming: I had the duck, which was two slices of dry breast meat and some kind of weird tiny sandwich made out of shredded dark meat — also dry. Add a couple of garnishes. and that was it for $ 44. My wife had the branzino; also dry and skimpy. We split an apple strudel for dessert — which turned out to be two deep fried balls of ginger-flavored batter with green apple sorbet. Not very good and certainly not what we expected. Bottom line: this place is living off its past reputation; there are many, many better restaurants in Dallas.

Lately the food has been amazing here… bold flavors & perfect plate presentation! Must be a new sherif in town! The buzz around town is «this is the spot». I’m frequently a regular now!!!

Prime steak was PREEETTTYYYY good. My salad came with a quail egg, I made the chef make it over hard, for an egg the size of a teaspoon… quite the task lol… Chef came out and said hi. Fun times!

Made a reservation for breakfast a week in advance and requested Jimmy as our server. I was assured that Jimmy would be working. When we arrived Jimmy was not working, toast was served ice cold, bacon had obviously been sitting in the kitchen getting hard, cold and chewy with a consistency of beef jerky and I had to fetch my own refills on coffee. This is NOT the service I have come accustomed to and paying for here at The Mansion On Turtle Creek. It’s obvious this establishment is going downhill in a hurry. VERYSAD!

The hotel and grounds are beautiful but for $$$$, it did not meet expectations. We were interested in trying their brunch on a Sunday so we made reservations and inquired about the dress code. The hostess suggested business formal to elegant attire, but during brunch service, dark washed jeans were acceptable. Me in a professional dress and my boyfriend in slacks and a jacket, were extremely overdressed. Some were in shorts and t-shirts and one couple in gym attire. If a dress code is suggested, it should either be enforced or the hostess should have been more honest on what was expected. Service started great, but once they realized we had nothing special to celebrate, were not drinking alcohol or ordering a full 3 course breakfast, we were pretty much ignored. I had to ask for a coffee refill twice. I ordered eggs benedict and my boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs. The steak and eggs seemed fine, but the benedict was a mess. I’ve been to restaurants who poach eggs on benedict so that they are slightly runny, some come out firm. Either way, I don’t mind, but the problem with this dish was that one egg was runny and the other had a firm yolk. Again, I’m fine with however the chef decides to prepare it, but I believe they should at least both be consistent. After brunch, we walked around the hotel. The bar looked cozy with dark wood and comfortable seating, we decided we would be interested in checking that out some other time. I would not recommend the restaurant for their food, but maybe tea with some girlfriends instead.

Rude. I expect more from someone who I am going to pay 1k for and have my 3 daughters, all under 12 plus me and my wife eat at. A party of 5 and my Simple shoes(who I’m an investor in) keeps me out? Dumb. Very dumb. I have to leave my girls there while I run to banana republic to by shoes to sit in your«business casual» eatery. Wait. I go buy a jacket, shoes and come back, you let others in. Ok. This is a locals only thing restaurant. If you are from out of town, go some place else. Not good food, terrible service, over priced. Run, don’t walk, from here. The worst problem isn’t the staff, it’s not the dumb young girls at the front, who don’t know what the hell they are doing. Terrible time, don’t waste your time here. Garland has better restaurants.

Great spot for a luxurious brunch, especially outdoor. Service was great but could’ve been more friendly when a customer asked to change seats because of the sun directions, not arguing and say the sun will hit that area soon. Other than that, the food was delicious we had the omelette, french toast and the waffles. Complimentary valet available.

My first Unilocal review! Yay :) We came here for Restaurant Week with a party of 8. But I would say this restaurant is better for a romantic date. The service was great and the food was definitely good but I don’t know if it would be worth it for the full price but I didn’t mind the $ 45 restaurant week menu. I absolutely loved the interior of this place, very classy and fancy! I would come here again for the atmosphere more than the food(not quite sure if that’s a good thing though, haha) I started out with the hot smoked scottish salmon, it was delicious and the presentation was on point. For the entrée, I chose the windy meadows chicken. The chicken was very tender and juicy but I didn’t care too much for the green tomato chutney, kinda had a weird after taste. I tried both of the dessert and they were both really good. The summer corn was interesting and new but if I have to choose one, go with the chocolate-hazelnut composition! It comes with coffee ice cream on the side & it was one of the best coffee ice cream I’ve had. Oh and I got the blackberry fizz cocktail and I don’t like cocktails that are too sweet or ones that just taste like juice, but this one was perfect! I do want to come here again and try their brunch tasting and bottomless mimosas: P

I’m surprised to read all the negative reviews, as my experience with brunch here lived up to all the hype that the Mansion on Turtle Creek name commands. On the weekend morning I visited, the place wasn’t crowded, and as it wasn’t hot out yet, I sat outside on the glorious, tree-lined, sun-kissed patio, which boasts a nice view of downtown. In particular, I found the brunch tasting menu, with bottomless mimosas added on top, to be of great value. The salmon sashimi was fresh, and served as a good starter, while the Texas-style steak and eggs were perfectly portioned and hit the right balances of flavor. The real fun, however, begins with the dessert buffet, and even if you don’t have as gluttonous an appetite as I do, you should definitely come here at least once for the dessert buffet alone. When a dessert buffet includes four different kinds of crème brulee, an unlimited selection of truffles, and tons of exquisitely crafted pastries, some adorned with gold leaf, you know you’re in for quite the foodg*sm. Bottomless mimosas, a solid meal, and an endless dessert buffet, all while sitting outside listening to ruffling leaves — what better way to ease into a weekend day?
