This place is jam packed on the weekends and they play good music. But it gets over crowded. Not enough parking spots available due to which there was a long line of cars on the main road. I had to park on the other side valet who were charging double. From inside the dance floor is ok. The bar is good and they do their best in serving everyone. The restroom was a mess though — Overflowing. If they start charging an entry fee they’ll be able to avoid overcrowding the place and maintain it properly.

I was not impressed with this bar. Younger immature crowd. Men or shall say boys wanted grab and touch on you. In what world do you touch a women. Only positive I have, is the music was great and patio seating was nice. They have upstairs section but the fog /smoke machine was too much for me. Not sure if I would go back. Not my type of crowd

I don’t know much about Dallas nightlife. We were advised that all the partying happens around McKinney. Loved The Den ! We had a full night of spot hopping and ended the night here. The line was long but it moved pretty fast. It’s about 4 levels or so … We went up to the roof top for more room. There’s a Dj upstairs and a separate bar ! Woot ! Some of our friends ordered a hookah. The weather was breezy … The music was nice. We danced all night & had a great time ! It was really crowded. On each floor there’s a diff genre of music. I ventured off a little to the first floor. There’s pool tables for more of a laid back time . There wasn’t a dress code but it seemed to be pretty casual but nice. The Den was your typical bar/lounge and seems like a popular place on the weekends ! Age crowd around 21−30ish. Will def be back on my next visit.

I came to The Den Halloween night. This is one of the few places in uptown that had a line wrapped around the building. So of course we were curious to see what the big deal was so we decided to try it out. Of course it was extremely packed that night. I was happy to find out that their was a first and second floor. Mind you, the second floor is a mix between a indoor and outdoor bar. I was surprised to find out that this bars has a full club feel with lights smoke and music(that night the DJ’s were really great), I later found out that majority of the time that this bar is always a some what club atmosphere. So that can be a blast if it’s that type of night your wanting to get into, without having to pay that club cover charge. Based on my other friends reviews this can be a hit or miss place depending on the DJ’s for that night. Overall I know I will be back when I’m really in a need for a «club scene».

Came with a buddy who had his dad’s military camo jacket on they refused entry even though he had a dress shirt & slacks on underneath. I asked what if that was his jacket & he served for the country you live in… Y’all don’t care about vets? Lol the security response was well he needs his pants on as well to be let in lol they wouldn’t give a fuck if he was a vet or not this place sucks.

This is one of the few places that actually feels shady in central uptown. Not sure what’s going on, but the first and second floor have a certain feel to them that just isn’t pleasant. Mind you, the indoor second floor also is one of the few bars around here that has a full club feel with lights smoke and music, so that can be a blast if it’s that type of night. And then there’s the third floor, which despite having loud music is super chill and you can actually hear each other there. Very hit or miss place.

The Den was a great place to be on a Saturday night. The music was popping, they have a range of beer on tap which I loved. Drinks were a bit pricey but it’s uptown, what do expect? The crowd was awesome, people who just come out to enjoy themselves and very friendly crowd; no problem just telling people excuse me and getting through. If you don’t like a crowd, then second and third floors are great with people on the calmer side up there. Dress code was very relaxed but of course, everyone was beautiful and just an awesome place to be on a Saturday night. Definitely going back!

No stars! This place has no class. The service was horrible and the owner is racist! We were standing on the side of the bar waiting for our valet and because we looked a certain way, were told to move off property. Like we were loitering. The property that we just spent our money in. The hookahs are horrible. We waited almost 30 min for the girl to make it. And this was before anyone was even in the place! We were the only people in the bldg.!! I will never come to this place again when I visit Dallas. Nor will I recommend this place to my colleagues.

This place used to be so great for dancing because they actually had a dancefloor in uptown. It is 3 stories: 1st floor is bar, dancing, side patio. 2nd floor is bigger dance floor, side patio and bar. 3rd floor is the beautiful view of dallas, rooftop bar, hookah and music. Nowadays it is still the same but give it a few more months and I have no doubt someone will be stabbed or shot because the crowd has become very rough. If you want to dance, it is too crowded, I would recommend getting out of uptown!

No star but since Unilocal doesn’t allow it, here is my explanation. I was here on a Friday night around 10⁄11. The bouncer, not sure what his name was but he was pretty rude to look at my id for over 5 minutes then to say it was a fake id. It was my drivers license. I approached him and asked if I could speak to the manager, he did not acknowledged my presence and finally replied«He be out here», no offense but the correct grammar is, he will be out here. I waited for possibly 30 minutes to talk to the manager. I usually do not give bad reviews because I like to give second chances to understand people, but some people are just not worth the time or effort. Will not be back and will forever give bad reviews about this place.

2nd dancing stop of the night(after escaping the downtown area). Frequented by younger Uptown crowd and the occasional uncle. Music: electric & bipolar combination of hot 100& recent hits. Quite danceable — with a good beat and most of the crowd actually shakes a leg. DJs are good and the place gets pretty packed on weekends. Bottom Line: I foresee many future visits.

The Den Lol. Where do I start? It was my hubby’s birthday weekend so we gave it a whirl Friday and Saturday Night. Tips: — Get there by 10 either days to avoid a line and wait for valet.(There is no where to park near the place) so make sure you have your $ 10 or a pair of serious walking shoes for a hike. –Be prepared to pay $ 8+ for drinks. We also found out each level is dishing out different amounts –_-. We had to keep going to level 1 to get drinks under $ 10. –Staff are friendly and alert which is nice seeing how the crowd can go from 0 to 1000 in like an hour lol. –Friday you can enjoy all the floors without squeezing pass everyone. –Saturday by 1230 you can’t move about unless your squeezing past everyone and therefore your forced to choose one floor for the night. –I don’t have much to say about the crowd. I mean they are all from different parts of Texas and im sure majority are from SMU and i dont really focus on people as long as I’m having a good time and no one is effecting my night negatively but do expect lots of drunks. –Crowd Age range… My guess 21 – 30 –Dress code is casual and chill but cute lol –Hookah is available but over priced close to $ 40 OVERALL: FUN but if I go back I’ll be out of there by 1230.

What? No. By now we all know what«ratchet» means… Come here if the definition is still unclear. You’ll quickly understand. The DJ isn’t good at interpreting the crowd’s vibe– why are you playing«Wonderwall» at 1:30AM… And how is «Wonderwall» a transition to «Get Low»… You sir, are everywhere. I love a good variety but… what? A shot was $ 11 People are packed like sardines Majority of the patrons were abrasive men. *note: snatching someone’s arm toward you is never the way to say«hi» I don’t understand any allure that may surround this place. No, just no.

What. Is. This. Place. It’s like three different douchebageries stuffed into one building. Each floor gives you a taste of the variety of ways to be hit on or picked up. The music may vary, but you will find the same spastic lights and deathly blinding fog machines; These are used in an attempt to mask the features of your anonymous dance partner so you can pretend that you’re gyrating with Adam Levine and not the busboy from Idle Rich. Luckily, the line to get in moves pretty quickly so you don’t have to push up your A cups while convincing the bouncer. Those boys hanging over the rooftop rail looking down are not impressed either honey. What you find inside is so disappointing though. Yes, it looks like a bar. It’s totally just a bar. Then someone thought it was a good idea to utilize all of the dreary open space and turn it into some shoddy makeshift club with overpriced wells. Alright, it is convenient that all you have to do is go up a floor to get a different style of Homo sapien mating beats, that is, if you can trudge up the stairs flooded with sweating bags of hormones and BO. What is up with the restroom on the second floor by the way? I have never seen that many guys around a restroom ever. What are you doing looking into the women’s restroom anyway? We don’t have couches in there despite popular belief! Also, restroom attendant? Oh please. Just because this thing is in Uptown does not mean it is worthy of an attendant unless she’s going to wipe my… Nevermind. DONE.

Overall had a good time. Pros: –No cover charge –Good music. *On first level played old school/new school hip hop and popular pop/rock songs. Gets really crowded. Everyone dancing.(However, there has been a DJ that transitions between songs too quickly. He would start a good song, then just when people are into the song or just before the good part, he would change songs.) *Second level plays house music. Everyone dancing. *Third level on roof. Plays hip hop. Less crowded. Good place to go for fresh air, to cool off, and if you want to talk. Also have hookah tables. Cons: –drinks expensive, ~$ 9. So may want to pregame.

3 stars for the best view in uptown, seating cabanas & hookahs!!! Lacking in valet service and security. A place filled with college kids not a place to go to if you’re dressed up.

The place is situated right in the heart of all the action on McKinney Ave. They have valet, three floors, no cover, and play good music. That’s where the positives stop. A couple years ago, this was the place to be. It always drew in a good, diverse crowd and everybody had fun. Sometimes, it was a little too SMU fratty for my liking, but nothing crazy. Each time I come back to this place, it gets a little worse than my previous visit. As mentioned the drinks are expensive and of low quality, but that’s what pregaming is for. I’ve never had a problem with my credit card being overcharged, but it wouldn’t surprise me. I usually get a beer when I come here, but I have taken shots, and the alcohol taste like something you would put on your skin. Tip: stick to something that comes in a bottle. The first floor is where they play rap/hip hop. Sometimes they play songs that are over 10+ years old that will take you back to the days of middle/high school, and they play current hits as well. Not really my cup of tea, so I usually go to the second floor. There, house/EDM is played. When I first started coming here, lasers would be flashing, people would be dancing, and it was all around a good time. Now, the dance floor is more empty or the people there just don’t dance as much. The third floor is where you go to chill. It also has one of the best views of the Dallas Skyline anywhere, but with the Whole Foods building being built, this may be compromised now. As I mentioned earlier, this place USED to draw in a good crowd. Now, the clientale has gone very far down hill. The guys are looking for fights and the grils are trashy. They play the same music, have the same prices, and are obviously in the same location. What has made this bar a place my friends and I now skip on the weekends are the people who go there now.

I don’t get the hate for this place from other reviews. Yes drinks are a bit pricey, but that’s why you come pregamed and then enjoy the music! There’s 3 floors with bars, different music in each one, and one of those is a pretty chill balcony. What is not to love? There’s street parking or 10 dollar valet. Which I often just bite the bullet and do with a DD. I’ve come here plenty of times and it’s always a fun time. There’s always people dancing and people to dance with. I personally love the ground floor as it has rap and top 40. Second floor plays EDM. Point is I’ve partied plenty o places, especially in Austin and it’s rare I find a place where it’s always fun, the music is always good, and it’s always crowded. Im giving this place 4 stars because of the rude bouncers. The firsr time I went the guy made fun of my appearance, and another time I got asked to leave for stumbling a bit– very rude but that’s Dallas.

Have you ever heard something described as «more than a sum of its parts?» Because The Den is actually LESS than the sum of its parts. You’d think all its components would add up to more-or-less an okay experience… which is true. Less. It’s less than an okay experience. My girlfriends and I hit The Den after a few even shittier bars. I guess it’s technically a club, but there’s no cover, which is cool. The music is different from the w-w-wub-wub EDM at most clubs in Dallas. The Den plays a lot of rap, pop, and R&B. There are some really cute dudes here. Sadly, there are also a lot of old dudes, ridiculously sweaty dudes, freaky dudes, way too drunk dudes, fratty dudes, and shitty sexually harassing motherfuckers who think they have a right to get handsy. If you’re going to brave The Den, get your bitchface prepared.
