Ok, clearly I do not go here for my own hair needs, but my husband does, so I’m writing a review on his behalf. This place can’t be beat! The atmosphere is very upscale, so don’t let the «shopping strip» store front fool you. From the moment you walk in, you’ll be greeted by a smiling face asking if you would like a water, soft drink or a beer. The décor? Dark espresso woods. The girls? Bright and cheery. It’s the perfect combination. THIS is the kind of man-​cave you’ll want to relax in. Make sure you ask for Kailey. She always does a great job making the hubs super handsome!

I got a haircut here today after booking it online which was very easy. The place was clean and employees were friendly. Kailey was my stylist and she was pretty awesome. Normally it takes me a few times with the same stylist to get my haircut right and I just moved to Dallas so I needed to find a new stylist. I told her roughly the style I like and that I just needed 3 months of hair cut off. She was friendly and did the cut great. One of the things that doesn’t make sense in my mind is why a haircut place would shampoo my hair before cutting it. My hair looks so different when it is wet compared to dry. The Boardroom shampoos it afterwards which is great because I can see how my haircut looks dry and then when it gets shampooed afterwards I can get all the stray hair off. I got a compliment on my hair the same day so that tells me that Kailey is awesome and got my haircut perfected in one try!

Alicia is the best! She is the receptionist. I can usually tell the caliber of a service establishment by how helpful their receptionist is. I called in asking if they would cut a whig I am wearing or Halloween and she told me they could not but then proceeded to email Aveda hair institute to see if they could accommodate my request. This is the type off customer service that makes for long lasting customer relationships! Thanks Alicia.

I’ve had the pleasure of coming to The Boardroom for beard consulting /​trimming /​beard care and cannot express enough how professional and nice the employees are. Emily and Teri are top notch and the entire staff is super friendly and made my experience a positive one.
If you have facial hair, this is the place you need to go. Period.

Price: High
Ambience: excellent. Free wifi. Free beer, water, soda. Free pool. Very clean, comfortable waiting area. Almost made me consider showing up early.
Service: Good. All of my haircuts have been quite good and the barber/​stylist is willing to listen and taylor the cut to your desire. Happy and upbeat welcome upfront.
Overall Experience: very good. If you are able to get by the initial sticker price it is a great place to get a haircut.

Just tried to get my head shaved and beard trimmed but was told there are not barbers there on Tuesdays…
Maybe they should let people know that they can’t cut hair or shave beards on Tuesdays!

This place is so legit! No joke. First time in. Greeted with any beverage of choice… any beverage. There’s a pool table and classy environment. On top of that, you get an exceptional cut!

Augustin at The Boardroom does a perfect job on my husband’s hair. My hubs has that amazing thick Scotch-​Irish hair that can be difficult to cut and style. But Augustin sends him home with a neat coif and I can’t wait to get my hands on him!

On the second haircut, you get to sit in the previous person’s hair. Stylist didn’t care when I pointed it out. Still looking for a nice, professional place

Being new to Dallas, I thought I’d give this place a try. The concept of a upscale Men’s Salon, the décor and complimentary Shiner Bock made me want to like this place. At the end of the day, I have to judge this place based on the haircut I received.
I opted for The Benchmark, which is their «signature service» and includes all of the bells and whistles. My stylist was super friendly, and great to talk with, but her reliance on using the clippers, left my final cut looking boxy and not the more styled look I’m used to.
The number of services that they include in the Benchmark is quite impressive, but I felt like my stylist was in a rush the entire time to, which left the end result not looking so great.

The saying «you get what you pay for» continues to ring true as I get older.
The place is super nice. Best waiting room I’ve ever been in with great leather chairs, sports on flat screen, and big men’s mag selection. Oh, and complementary Shiner Bock. I had a long week of going out almost every day last week, and had no intentions of even a single drink for a few days. That’s when I realized this was the biggest mistake of my life. I’ll enjoy a Shiner while waiting, of course.
Great haircut but Laraine. Just an awesome all around job. Listens to what you want, repeats it back to you, and actually executes it.
Is $ 40 plus tip a lot for a men’s cut? Not if all the above mentioned happen. I spent $ 20 less at Floyd’s a few months ago, waited an hour, then had my requested haircut turn into a cut fitting a new private. Ok, that may be extreme, but it wasn’t good.
This was good. Very good.

I’ve been coming to the Boardroom since I’ve moved to Dallas. Never been disappointed in any of the services I’ve received. The entire staff is friendly and professional. I’ve been growing a beard and Augustin always makes it look perfect. Marissa is great for a cut or occasional color. The free beverages are a classy touch as well.

Augustine is my go to guy for haircut and beard trim. Very professional and does a great job. His attention to detail is great and just a really nice guy as well.

To Matt, I don’t think it’s fair to trash a place of business because you think you got a bad haircut. It might have been horrible, might be you not knowing how to style your hair. It’s not a direct reflection of the whole establishment. I’ve had horrible food at 5 star restaurants. on another note, I have the most difficult haircut ever, to the point that I’ve scared off my barbers. Melissa absolutely kills it every time. Never have I been so satisfied with a cut in my life. If you want someone who understands hair, and gives you exactly what you want with good suggestions go see her. Also the boardroom is the place to go!

Can I give Zero stars? My usual STYLIST was unavailable, i was in a jam, heading out of town for a couple weeks so i risked it all on the boardroom. I lost… BIG. Worst cut I’ve ever had. this is not an exaggeration. i have spots in my hair where its too short. not blended at all! some short some long. Its uneven everywhere. A blind man could cut better hair. Terrible. I walked out without paying. Im so incredibly upset they hire these incompetent hacks. they are not licensed stylists/​cosmetologist. they are barbers… terrible at that. great for the military, not for the rest of us. Never will i return, I will tell everyone i know, Unilocal and every review site. TERRIBLE! im embarrassed to be out in public with this cut. And they should be embarrassed to be in business. Dont be a fool. its a dressed up supercuts with a pool table… Actually… supercuts is better.

My first visit was very unsatisfactory, but this second time around I had a great experience. I saw Jacky and she was very attentive. She knew exactly what I wanted and how I wanted my haircut. I’ll definitely see her again… Third visit and I still like Jacky. Very good experience. :)

I’ve been going here for about 1.5 years now. Here’s why.
The Boardroom is basically a little oasis from the grind of the working world. For around $ 50 (or less if you get a membership), you get their «benchmark» treatment: a haircut, shampoo, scalp and arm/​hand massage, and a steamed towel. The Boardroom’s competitors all do some version of these things — but the Boardroom’s stylists just do them better.
The first thing that happens when you walk in the door is the receptionist hands you a complimentary beer. So there’s that.
The haircuts are consistently good. At places like Floyd’s, you have to play the «stylist lottery» game until you finally get somebody decent you can stick with. At the Boardroom, I’ve found that all of the stylists are good. My usual go-​to is Kailey, who I recommend strongly. She’s excellent at what she does, and quite personable too (hi, Kailey). I’ve decided to try the other stylists as a matter of scheduling convenience, however, and have been pleasantly surprised to have universally positive experiences. Now I usually look for Kailey first but I don’t think twice to book another stylist. They’re all good.

After the haircut, the «benchmark» service continues in another room where they put you in a recliner and give you a shampoo, massage, and hot towel treatment. Again, other places do variations of these things — but not as well as the Boardroom. At the Boardroom, they’ve taken the time to create a standard method that they actually teach their stylists, and then encourage the stylists to build on their own experience. They do it well.
The Boardroom is a little pricier than its competitors. If you’re willing to commit to a ½ or 1-​year membership, however, they’ll give you a discount that basically off-​sets the price difference.
In sum, I’m a happy and returning customer. The service is great, as are the people. If you’re looking for a good haircut with a relaxing experience I recommend checking this place out.

Great concept, poorly executed. Maybe I got them on a bad day but the 2 stylists there didn’t seem professional or friendly. I could put up with that if the haircut was good, but alas it was so-​so.
On the positive side the décor and concept is awesome. You walk into a cool looking salon with a pool table in the middle. And I have to admit the name is pretty good. I really wanted this to be my new salon but it’s not.
