History
Established in 1987.
Joseph E. Ashmore, Jr. was appointed Judge of Probate Court No. 3 in Dallas County, a position he held for 12 years. After retiring from the bench in 1986, Joseph Ashmore began practicing law in Dallas where he became a named partner in the law firm of Vassallo and Ashmore.
Joe decided to open his own practice to focus on more diverse areas of law. Joe Ashmore along with his son Gary Ashmore started the firm. Joe’s daughter, Lori Ashmore Peters joined the firm in 1996. Throughout the years Joseph Ashmore, Gary Ashmore, and Lori Ashmore Peters have grown the firm.
Today The Ashmore Law Firm, P.C. has 5 attorneys with varying backgrounds and areas of expertise from Estate Planning to Family Law to Personal Injury. The Ashmore Family philosophy has always been to never grow too large so they may always provide the personal touch needed for each and every case.

Business Owner
Gary was born and raised in Dallas, TX where he attended Jesuit College Preparatory School. He then attended Texas A&M University and Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.
While growing up in Dallas, Gary desired a profession in which he could help people in a positive way. It wasn’t until after starting a career in Computer Programing, that he realized becoming an attorney would allow him to accomplish this very important goal.
Gary stands out among other attorney’s due to his unique approach to each and every case. He believes every client should hire their attorney as they would their own family doctor. He is able to handle each case in the most cost effective and efficient way possible by advising clients up front of the costs and any risk or exposure involved. This allows clients to make an informed decision.
