Very disappointed, we are from out of state and came here for Mother’s Day. I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary that was just out right nasty. Our server bright out our food mine was cold. Cold fries, cold brisket sandwich. I thought she was coming back but she never did. I waited to get some Tabasco but only saw other servers cut chatting with the hostess. My boyfriend went looking for Tabasco and a nice gentleman approached me and asked what he needed. I told him my food was cold and I needed Tabasco. He apologized and got me hot fries and Tabasco.

You don’t allow tank tops for a guy but a girl can come in sleeveless. This is not the place I’ll visit again until you treat all genders the same

I had never been to a Texas Land & Cattle before, but a group of us decided to go here since it was close to the place we were going to next. We had made a reservation earlier but I called to let them know we were going to be 15 minutes late. Turns out, they didn’t even have that reservation in the system. So I made another reservation and it took the lady forever to understand the name and time I was trying to tell her. We arrive and ordered and everything was normal after that. Later on in the night, two of my friends didn’t feel good from the food. I felt fine, but I had only ordered the chicken tortillas soup. Who knows, but it’s safe to say I probably won’t be going to another Texas Land & Cattle restaurant anytime in the future.

Ordered a steak & balsamic roasted Brussels sprouts. I made sure the waiter knew I was allergic to pork when I ordered(He offered to put bacon my steak) yet when the Brussels sprouts arrived they were pretty much a bowl of bacon. No mention of bacon in this side dish ANYWHERE on the menu. Had to send those back. Waiter said ‘No one orders those much.’ Not sure how that is a valid excuse for anything. The steak was a little over cooked and there was so much pepper on it that I couldn’t taste anything — my mouth was just burning. The waiter asked if my steak was perfect and I told him the situation. I had to cut off the entire exterior of the steak in order to eat it. He mumbled something about taking care of it but never did anything else. No manager came by, no one apologized and the waiter never said anything else about it as he took away a plate of uneaten meat. The drinks took a long time to arrive — there wasn’t anyone else there! Our waiter liked to TALK… A LOT! Too bad he wasn’t able to LISTEN. Never did understand why we were charged extra for the sides when they were supposed to be included with the meal, per the menu. We were wondering why the place was so empty on a Friday night. I think now we know the answer to that. Good customer service could have retained our repeat business, but it just wasn’t there.

Not sure why the ratings are so low for this place. This location is always a go-to for my girlfriend and I. We eat out 95% of the time and we are always trying new places. The steak and sides here are consistently better than any steakhouse in this price range.

Not much impressed with the staff. And found a piece of hair in butter that was for my bread and found a piece of hair in my salad. I’m a hair dresser and I only want to see hair in getting cut and fallen on the ground and into the trash… not in my food. Probably not coming back to this one. Also, took quite a while to get a to-go box. But my chicken fried steak was nice and tender and the sirloin was yummy.

This place needs a cleaning crew, a decorator and new manager. Dirty, terrible music. Booths are worn and even the poor cow head above the fireplace is torn! The good news or sad news is the clientele is perfectly matched to the place. Can’t believe we agreed to meet people here. Keep driving folks.

I have never been too impressed with Texas Land & Cattle’s food. If you are looking for a good steak, my recommendation would be to come over and I’ll cook you one on the grill ;) or go to Outback or Salt Grass… if you’re looking for a chain resturant steak house in the same price range.

The salad was wilted and old, the ranch was watered down. Then the broccoli was supposed the be steamed but came out completely raw. Steak was tough and dry even though it was medium and bloody on the plate. The service was even worse! Save your money

We liked this place but not as well as saltgrass. I think the food was just below saltgrass with the same prices. I will say their smoked sirloin is awesome so definitely go there to try that. They also have some specials throughout the week like cheap tacos and beer so not too bad but I think it is still our second choice to saltgrass.

Service was good however the attention to the food prep is not good. Found a hair in my tacos and ruined the whole evening. Manager was attentive to the situation. It will be a while if I return to this location.

Too overpriced for the quality of the food. I was not impressed. A $ 30 porterhouse should be amazing! I was amazed I ate as much as I did! Raw! Cold! Hardly any tenderloin! Not worth the money. I think the only reason the server suggested it was to get the ticket increased for his tip. My wife food was bland and tasteless, her broccoli had a strange flavor and was under cooked. The shrimp looked nasty, but who eats shrimp at a steakhouse? My advice is to avoid this location all together.

Had lunch here with a friend but went for dinner entrees. We weren’t noticed at first but were seated after a quick minute. The food was good, not great… but good. Didn’t finish… wasn’t worth the try to stuff myself.

Had a nice dinner at Texas Land and Cattle. Décor was«typical Texas» which was good, because I was there with someone from out of town, who requested a Texas Steakhouse. If that is what you’re after, This place will fit the bill Started with the Brisket Stuffed Jalepenos. These were 5 heavily breaded and deep fried Jalepeno that were stuffed with a strong flavored Brisket. I wasn’t crazy about the smokey barbeque flavor of the brisket inside. But this is purely personal preference. The appetizer was well done. Had a great wedge salad with Blue Cheese dressing. The lettuce was cold and crisp and the Blue Cheese dressing was delicious. Topped with tomatoes and real bacon. My entrée was the 6 oz. bacon wrapped Filet. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The loaded baked potato was good as well. It came topped with green onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream and fake bacon bits. The potato skin was not rolled in olive oil and sea salt, so I was not tempted to eat it.

Good steaks, not excellent, but good. The crab cake appetizers are surprisingly«crabby». Their«famous house smoked sirloin,» the porter house steak, as well as the steak house burger are great for the price. My main complaint is that the Happy Hour is not a daily bargain deal. Thursday is the best day here for happy hour with $ 5 cocktails and a few $ 5 appetizers. Waitstaff is always super friendly and attentive.

I returned for date night since we were in the area. I knew they had great steaks so I wanted to drop in and give them another go around. I’m glad I did. The service had stepped up from last time and the food that was served was a divine. We had the filet mignon 6oz since they were out of the 9oz. The were cooked to perfection. We did have the brisket stuffed jalapenos which held together when you bite into them. They were also VERY good. They had a promo for half proce bottle of wines, so we opted to try the syrah. It went well with my meal and they even have a way to seal it so you can legally take it home. The staff really impressed me this go around. The managers, Joshua, the manager seems to really care about the success of this establishment.

This was my first time at a Texas Land & Cattle. I only found out recently that it is a chain. Not a lot to write about here. The food is ok, it’s not horrible or anything like that although my steak was a little chewy. The service was really bad, the waiter kept forgetting my drink. They also overcharged me by accident. The wait for food was very long. Overall, not a fantastic experience. There are so many other steak houses in Dallas that offer better food quality, or better value or better service. I doubt I’ll be coming back here again.

Update on my review. I eat lunch at Texas Land & Cattle about once every week or so. They have a great pick 2 lunch special for 8.99. I always get the tortilla soup and cheesesteak and its great and consistant. The service is a little slow because of so many people in there. Lunch will take you a full hour to eat there. Usually its about a 20 – 25 minute wait for your food.
