I happened upon this place two years ago staying at a nearby quality Inn, and it was my first exposure to incredibly delicious Mexican food. Today, two years later, I couldn’t remember the name of the restaurant so I drove around looking for the end that I stayed at so that I could find my way to it. Nothing has changed, still excellent food, excellent prices, charming people and you know it’s authentic because even the TV channel is in Spanish!

My fiancée, friend, and I came here for dinner and it was mediocre. My carne asada was marinated in soy sauce and that’s all it tasted like. My friend ordered the pork chops which were so burnt, they were inedible. The fiancée had enchiladas to which he responded, «I could make better.» I don’t think we will be back. The only good thing was the lemonade and the tortillas.

One of the best and most authentic Mexican restaurants in the DFW area. Homemade chips, tortillas, etc at a fair price. My new go — to for great Mexican food that I would have never found without Unilocal

MASSIVE burrito for the money. It was $ 5.50 and worth every penny. I got the chicken, and it was very flavorful… what really stuck out was the tortilla itself. The flour tortilla is thicker and has more flavor than the plain, typical flour tortillas that you come across. The chips were particularly good as well — served warm, and they tasted homemade. This place is in a shopping center, and when I went in(9:45pm) I was the ONLY person in the restaurant. The reviews on here assured me that this wasn’t a bad sign. The food was great, trust me and try it!

Ok, if you are staying in the area at one of the hotels, I can say with the utmost confidence. This place is definitely your best bet! Avoid all of the crappy fast food in the area, step inside, relax and have some solid tasting, cheap street style tacos. I had the chicken, the BBQ and the carne asada. The chicken was really damn good. The carne asada was pretty solid but I have still had better and the BBQ was just ok. All in all. For $ 1.25 this was a really freaking good chicken taco. Their salsa is served warm which at first I thought was kind of strange but ultimately it works in a very good way. It’s nice and spicy as well. They also give you two additional bottles of hot sauce with your tacos… Both were unique and a really good addition to the flavor. Nice friendly, family run place which makes me even happier to support it. The food to me is maybe a solid three and a half however the service made me give it a four. If I am ever stuck on this side of town again I would definitely return to this place again. Happy eating.

Stopped in here with a friend of mine for some«sit down» street tacos. I tried the Carnitas(fried pork), Cabrito(Kid Goat) and al Pastor(marinated pork with bits of pineapple on top) Before the tacos arrived we were served tostadas(chips), with salsa and fresh limes for squeezing. The tacos were very respectable, the goat wasn’t as tasty as I enjoyed in Nuevo Leon, but hey, it’s Dallas right? All in all, decent tacos at a very fair price at a little more than a dollar each, you can eat your fill and step out of your comfort zone and try something other than beef or chicken! –jr

I take tacos very seriously and when reviewing a new place, I always try to make a fair comparison. Taqueria Los ARCOS De Jalisco is close to my neighborhood, tucked in a medical strip mall, and in front of a Pollo Regio. The exterior looks a bit run down but doesn’t repel customers. Interior is adequate for 30 – 40 people to sit comfortably. Wait staff is pleasant and«Alejandra» is very friendly. Tacos are $ 150 each and credit cards are accepted(minimum 5 dollar purchase). When comparing taquerias, I always go for three basics: Pastor, Fajita and Chicken(pollo). I find that most taco stands can pull these off without too many mistakes. So here we go: All tacos are slightly on the small side, but enough to satisfy. Tortillas I had were corn, but flour is also available. All tacos were prepared with white onion only and garnished with red salsa. Chicken: meat was very tender and well cooked. Slight charing on the edges added an extra kick of flavor without being too over cooked. Very well prepared and chopped into small bite site pieces. Served with onion(I always do sans cilantro). Pastor(pork): well prepared meat however tortillas were slightly under cooked… of course I like them toasted… not rubbery. Flavor of the meat was sufficient, but it did not have a strong, distinct flavor. Almost slightly mild, but enough that I could taste the goodness. Fajita: Sorry to say but these were not my favorite. Meat was chopped into small pieces, but with some tendon, making biting into it slightly… umm rubbery like biting into a rubber band. No flavor… none…I felt like I was eating a salsa taco. These were very underwhelming. While not as bad as Rusty Taco, I feel these were no where near the quality of Tacos El Guero(Bryan and Carroll Ave) or of Taqueria El Si Hay(Davis St in Bishop Arts Area). Salsa: I like the consistency of the salsa… slightly thicker and opaque. Not watery. However there isn’t a strong full flavor… rather its salsa that provides more«heat» than anything else. Not bad though on these tacos. Overall, I’m not overwhelmed by this place, but i’m also not underwhelmed. Its an average taqueria and I’m sure a great place to get a good chicken taco or other flavors when your in a pinch. New owners are planning a renovation, so look for a new interior. Also they are planning on serving beer/alcohol soon which i’m sure will bring in more business. Three out of five… not a bad little place for the money.

I’ve been obsessed with finding the best authentic-style taqueria in Dallas ever since I got back from visiting a friend in California. I’ve tried all of the most highly-rated places around as reviewed here on Unilocal but decided to take a flyer on this place because I hadn’t been happy with any of the favorites(Fuel City? Really?) and because this place wasn’t far from where I was. So glad I did! Dallas places don’t seem to have«Carne Asada»(steak) but they do have«fajita» which is close enough. I’ve had the fajita burrito and tacos so far as well as the carnita tacos and my wife has had the chicken flautas. All were the best I’ve has in Dallas, and the burrito is the best I’ve ever had period. The place is set up as a small dine in restaurant with usually 3 waitresses on duty who will assume you’re there to dine in and will try to seat you. If you want to order to go, you just let them know and they’ll give you a menu and take your order. They are very nice — their English is not a strong suit but you’re not there for the conversation. Your order is usually ready in about 8 – 10 minutes. The restaurant itself is set back off Samuel blvd a bit and partially tucked behind a Pollo Regio. Trust me, it’s worth finding!
