This place was terrible. I had never been to a taco cabana before but after moving to Texas I put this place on my list of things to try. I now wish I had gone to an actual restaurant instead of this DIRTY fast food joint. There was literally no cheese in my cheese enchiladas, soda area and condiment area were disgusting and it seemed the employees did their best to avoid even looking at you. Not to mention the yelling and cussing of the employees. I can check this off my list but I will not be back.

I’ve been to this place three times in the last few weeks, and ever since the new cashier showed up, I have paid for more food than I have received and I have never been given a receipt. The third time this happened, I went inside to ask for the rest of the food I ordered, and the cashier who JUSTSAWME flat out REFUSED to give me the food I ordered without the receipt that he FAILED to give me. They need to FIREEVERYONE who works there and STARTOVER!!!

Ordered 15 breakfast tacos for my crew at work. They forgot three tacos. I told them politely that they had forgotten 3 tacos. The lady grabbed the sack out of my hand and began taking out the tacos and then told me that I ate the three tacos. I asked for the manager and told him and he just said sorry in sheepish voice. They brought out two more tacos, but they weren’t the correct ones. Again, the lady started speaking negatively about me in Spanish, so I let her know pretty quickly that I speak Spanish and would be calling corporate. Called corporate and they took my address down as if they would send me something. I didn’t want anything, I just wanted the manager to do his job and reprimand the employee for being a little nuts to someone who is essentially helping the business in paying her rent. It’s been 2 months and I haven’t received anything from corporate. I won’t be back.

The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the food was decent. Other than that — go to another Taco Cabana in the Metroplex. This location is dirty, unkempt, and completely lacking in every way. The salsa bar is a mess; there are not enough ladles for every salsa, and the bar area looks like it hasn’t been wiped down in ages! The young lady at the counter was very rude to the patrons, and they kept passing customers over between each other which showed a complete lack of customer appreciation. Very disappointing!

Disgusting, filthy, hideous. Not a clean table in the whole place. On the upside the food is so salty I doubt bacteria could live in it. Nasty!!!

Um– rude! For no reason, rude rude rude service. Rude while we were ordering, even though we said please & thank you– like courteous people with manners and social skills. Rude at the window when paying. Rude when literally TOSSING the bag of food in our window. Yes, I realize this is fast food, but to be a decent human being with manners and courtesy, especially when working with the public, doesn’t require much.

I’ve gotta say… I gave this TC another chance, and I’m glad that I did. I think the one day I went when the bacon tacos were weird was just an off day. I’ve been back multiple times since then and everything’s been great. My order was ½ wrong today, but I was able to pull the cheese off one taco and put it on to the other one instead. No biggie. They were super busy, and someone different took my order. The girl who’s usually there on weekday mornings gets it right every time and is friendly. The most annoying thing about this TC is the way the lot is laid out, and that’s no fault of the people working here. Oh trust me, I’ll be back. I’ll be back more often than I should. Damn those breakfast tacos and damn those flautas…

Late Night Drive Thru Experience: Fast service, smiling faces despite the hour, $ 0.25 tortillas.

Now I understand why it was 13 years between visits. The food I had was simply awful. The Taco Plate @ $ 4.99 was overpriced. The taco meat was disgusting, and the beans had the weirdest taste I ever encountered. The rice was nondescript, as was the guac. To top it off, the service was even worse. They give you a number and are supposed to bring your food to your table. I waited for about 15 minutes and then when it became apparent that NOONE was actually bringing food out, I went to the counter and took my own order to the table. I have no intention of ever returning to this restaurant again.

Close to 24hrs since my last meal and I was hun-geerrrr-ree! I come to Taco Cabana to try it out and sadly, not a great experience. Location was out of shredded cheese. There went all my options leaving me with bean & cheese nachos. The guy was polite and very apologetic about the situation but the beans butchered my midnight meal. I finished the whole thing because of the hunger pangs but it’s not something I want to have again.

While many Taco Cabana locations are regressing… This Taco Cabana is progressing. There appears to have been some major changes made as of late, and they all seem to be for the better. I am a long time fan of Taco Cabana, and I have been to many locations. This review pertains specifically to this location. One downside to Taco Cabana is lack of consistency throughout their chain. I am happy to say that this location stands out above the rest and is consistent, clean and overall offers the best dining experience out of the other Taco Cabana’s I’ve been to. One of the vital criteria I base my rating on is the freshness of their chips. This seems to be something that varies from location to location, but I am happy to say that the Greenville Avenue TC consistently serves fresh chips that taste exactly as they were intended to. There are times when I have visited other Taco Cabana locations and the chips were overcooked or even stale. While we are on the subject of chips, let’s also discuss the accompanying components. Okay– their salsa bar is always in top notch form. Fresh salsas and other taco dressing components are attentively monitored and always look appetizing. The queso here is divine! The serve it really hot and it’s the perfect consistency. I actually went to another Taco Cabana recently and had their queso and it was awful. It goes to show just how much the same chain but a different location can really screw things up. I’ve had many offerings from the menu at this location; from flautas, enchiladas, tacos and everything in between, and I have been pleased with all of my meals from this location. I am toying with the notion of just going to this Taco Cabana because all the other ones are a let down. I am very pleased with this location and they have always been consistent, so when I want real Taco Cabana– this is the location I go to.

Greenville & Park. All tables were dirty: bussed, not cleaned. All serving trays were dirty. Cashier has attention deficit disorder. Is this where all the crack babies go to work when they grow up?

I should have expected trouble when the first thing spoken to me through the drive-thru speaker was«Can you give me a minute?» The line was interminably slow-moving. And there were only 2 vehicles in front of me on a Saturday mid-morning. Not weekday rush hour. When I finally got my order and drove away, I noticed that instead of a bacon and egg taco, they’d given me a bacon and cheese taco. I checked the receipt. It had been rung up correctly. But, somehow, both of my tacos were wrong. I returned it and the manager did give me a new order and a full refund. But, it’ll be a while before I give them a chance to make we wait three times as long as I should to get the wrong order.

Taco cabana is always great, but this time i was not very happy with the service or the food. I ordered the 2 brisket tacos and they looked like the meat was a lil burned and were very flavorless. I also felt like i was cheated my rice and beans I was asked if i wanted chips and queso and i said yes but i though that was gonna be extra not as a substitute for my rice and beans. I was not very happy and probably will not be eating at this location again.

So… Taco Bell announced that they«meet the minimum requirements» with their meat. Well, they sure don’t meet MY minimum requirements for even fast food — mystery meat, burritos folded so sloppy that everything is squirting out and greasy teens behind the counter — ew. Taco Cabana seems many steps above on quality and taste in the mexi fast food department. This is the only mexi FF chain I would dare eat from… PLUS I can usually find coupons for buy one, get one for $ 1 so I can get my flauta fix and the mango sweet tea is addictive.

The original Taco Cabana in San Antonio(and I mean original as it is now a hit-or-miss chain) was an institution — good quality, exceptional service, and cheap. By good quality — I mean home made flour tortillas By exceptional service — I mean super fast b/c your food would be ready before you finished paying By cheap — I mean for $ 1.25(yes back in the day) you could get 2 bean and cheese tacos with a lot of cheese in them Today, however, is a different story. Being from San Antonio means I will not eat at Taco Bell unless I am forced to do so. So the alternative to late night or quick Mexican food is TC. Today’s story is about a chain who finally(at least from my last couple of experiences over the last couple of years) has stopped making crappy, under-sized or not round tortillas and is getting back to basics. Today’s experience was the best I’ve had in a long, long time.

Mediocre food for a reasonable price. I’ve eatten here 4 times and everything has been no better than so-so. It tries to be somewhere in between mexican fast food and full service tex mex. The beans are bland. The rice is fairly enjoyable. The tortillas are pretty good. The salsas are a nice touch. It’s not bad, but it’s not good. If you want cheap mexican food, go to a taqueria.

It looks like a pizza box but there’s no pizza! Instead it’s filled with Cabana’s great soft flour tortilla’s stuffed with breakfast. Why didn’t anyone think of this before? It’s such a simple, magical idea. A dozen breakfast tacos, 3 chrizo and egg, 3 bacon and egg, 3 potato and egg, 3 bean and cheese…$ 10.99. Want a different combination? It’s only a dollar more. Done – HAPPYOFFICE! We may actually get some work done… after our mid-morning siesta.
