Hopped in after a concert. This place is under new management. The bar manager was very nice, her wife was also there (she does security). Very nice couple. They have a limited karaōke library, since they are just starting out. The sound system was pretty good. You can’t beat their $ 3.00 well drink special on Mondays!!!

It was great! Had a great bar back give me the best Coke I ever had. Think her name was Angie G something. Music was good there too.

Best girls bar in the DFW. You will always find room on the dance floor. The drinks are decently priced. The cover is $ 8 and secure parking across the street is $ 10. So get ready to spend so excited money before you get in the door. My favorite artist is Anton but I haven’t seen her there in a while

Last weekend was my first time at Sue Ellen’s and I hope it won’t be the last. I showed up after Pride so it was really busy. Thankfully there was room upstairs, otherwise it would have been suffocating. There’s a bar upstairs which was also great.
The bathroom is super small and there is a cover charge, but if that keeps them in business then that’s okay with me. Houston doesn’t have any lesbian bars so I can definitely see myself returning here for some more fun.

I just can’t say enough about the owner of this establishment. I walked in with two female friends and we were immediately greeted warmly by the staff. The owner struck up a conversation with us, found out that my friends were visiting from Oklahoma, and bought us our first round. The entire staff was very warm and receptive. (Even though I’m a straight dude) we had a lot of fun and the staff was just terrific.

Four femmes walk into a bar… and were discriminated against. After one drink each, we were informed that we were «cut off» at the «discretion of the bartender». What a disappointment, as tourists here visiting friends who recently moved to Dallas (we are from San Francisco). This is not how I would EVER imagine being treated (and never have been). The three bartenders ignored us the entire time — and the bar was basically empty. After a 15 minute conversation with the manager Kathy we left even more frustrated because she said she «thought we were fine» and offered to buy us another drink (we declined). The four of us came here to have a nice evening, had one drink, and were denied a drink because we apparently had «too much to drink» before we came in. Good luck Sue Ellen’s staying in business. Feel lucky to be one of the few lesbian bars left in the country, as we have none in SF. What a shame, because we — and our friends who just moved to Dallas — will never come back.

I don’t know why they keep the karaōke DJ they have. He is disinterested in the singers and the crowd and more interested in his phone. We came to sing and there were 16+ people in queue and he actual stopped rotation to sing himself! Really? You could care less how anyone else sounds until crowd screams «less bass»…don’t waste your time here.

Always a good time at Sue’s! Can’t go to The Gayborhood and not go to Sue Ellen’s! Bar tenders are friendly and offer fast service!!!

Love this place and the people that work here. None of the Dallitude you find in other Cedar Springs bars!

This place was a total dissapoinment. I went on a saturday night. Parking was a nightmare. They have a cover charge and drinks were super pricey and not at all strong or big. Music was the same all night long, two step crap and popsy techno. The bathroom is super small considering the place is huge, so be prepared for loooong lines.
Bartender was nice and prompt with drinks. Suffice to say the only pretty girl was the one dancing behind the screen and I didn’t see her face…
Dallas needs to catch up on the lesbian scene. Somewhere were young professionals can meet in a nice ambiance. Not the club scene.

I went lol liking for a good place to dance stayed til about midnight no one was dancing so I ended up going to a different club in the same area s4 much better music lots of people on the dance floor. I also went to Havanas which I was told is the Mexican club by a few locals it was smaller but everyone was dancing and having a great time they also have food out on the patio.

This used to be a fantastic bar but new manager came in and fired all the old staff and the new ones are failing miserably … Ended up waking out the last time we went as they had 1 bar person for over 150 customers and to make it worse she was obnoxious … Too many great places in the area to out up with poor service

I’m straight as hek and I love this place. Beers are cheap and the crowd is lively. Ginda makes a mean Bloody Mary !!

Even though it is lesbian bar, as a gay man I enjoy coming here. Something about this place is really cool ranging from the great, hilarious staff to the good drinks. Alissa is awesome!!! Love her as a bartender. Karoake with Chalupa on Mondays is great as well.

Pretty cool bar. As a straight guy I felt very welcome (probably helped that I wasn’t trying to «convert» anyone). Nice dance floor and friendly bartending staff and a great upstairs area.

I perform here frequently and it’s my go-​to bar. They do benefits for charity’s and to help transgender folk raise money for surgery, which is pretty amazing. I’ve never had a bad experience. Everyone is always friendly, it’s friendly to youth and there are strict rules to keep under age kids from drinking (X’s on the hand, no touching glass ware, And they are real on top of making sure no one is washing the x’s off)
The shows are always amazing and have great performers. Very open to the transgender community, which matters to me a lot. It IS a lesbian bar but it seems that people of all walks of life are welcome. I appreciate the zero drama tolerance, it keeps things fun and light hearted and it’s honestly the only bar I can walk into and feel safe in. Definitely stop by for the Tuesday Tease every Tuesday or for one of the Mustache Envy shows!

This place has gone down since I’ve moved back. Music is horrible, no live DJ. They play most of their music from CD’s. Dallas has the worse gay lesbian scene possible.

What struck me was how clean and modern this space was. There is something for everyone: a patio on which to chill out, a spacious dance floor, several bar areas, and an upstairs area where shows happen and it’s quieter with lots of seating. And you can truly dance the night away here, either with a partner or just by your own damn self, like I did. This place felt very welcoming to everybody, straight or gay! There is an $ 8 cover charge and you get a huge forearm-​length entrance stamp on the arm that says BOOBS. Good luck explaining that the next day!

Apparently I had no idea this was a gay bar until the next day when I woke up with a sticker that said «boobs» on my arm. True story. All I can tell you is I had loads of fun– perhaps too much, danced my little behind off, and suffered from a slight hangover the following morning.
I’m sure you’re wondering how this straight chick ended up here on a Saturday night. Well, it all started so innocently at Artopia 2013. Afterward, a few friends suggested we try it out. I’m all in for an adventure, so in we went!
The dance floor was huge and the music was bumping. Everyone was having a grand olé time, getting down and enjoying inexpensive cocktails. It’s probably not a place I’d frequent all the time, but for a REAL party– gay or straight– it’s worth hitting up at least once! Thank you, Sue Ellen, for showing a gal a fun time!

When there’s only one spot in Dallas for lezzies, it’s an all or nothing thing. Either it’s good or bad. Either you like it or you don’t. Sue Ellen’s makes the cut.
There’s lots of wiggle room in this two-​story club and bar, which has pool tables, an outdoor patio (where you can get your smoke on if you need to), three bar counters, a medium-​sized dance floor that does the job, a lounge area upstairs and a soundproof room upstairs where live bands play.
I don’t necessarily think this place is for young partiers. The age range here is pretty wide, as is the lez-​type. You’ve got your butches, your lipsticks, your soft studs, your femmes, and the list goes on. What’s more, the vibe is so chill. You can come get a drink and dance, or watch people dance, or hang out and talk (which a lot of youngins actually do on the dance floor). You won’t feel out of place, and that’s what I love most about Sue’s. I’ve gone dressed to the nines in a dress and heels and I’ve also gone in skinny jeans, a wonder-​woman shirt, and sneakers and no one cares the lesser.
The last couple times I went I decided to go during free cover, which is 9:30p-10p on Fridays and Saturdays, though Saturdays are the best nights to go. If you drive around long enough, you may get lucky and find a parking spot right in front, or a few blocks down and skip those paid parking lots.
It will take about an hour or so before things get busy, especially on the dance floor, but the music is pretty good. Top 40 and some mixes as well as hip-​hop on Fridays and Saturdays. Last two Saturdays I went a very few brave souls were gettin it on the dance floor, but things didn’t heat up until they played the wobble song. I LOVE line dances at Sue’s! So fun. Then everybody and they mama gets down! Yeah buddy! There are also drink specials between 9:30 and 10 – $ 2 domestic longnecks and $ 4 wells. One of the bartenders is awesome, I wish I knew her name. I didn’t know what I wanted to get once and she offered to make me something. So I got a sweet tropical drink with a punch of strength called Yo Mama. She’s the only one who makes it, because when I returned the following week, no one else knew what I was talking about. :-)
