Specialties
We solve problems middle aged folks have in protecting and caring for their elderly parents. These solutions usually involve guardianships, conservatorships, powers of attorney, or other legal mechanisms used for substituted decision-making or in finding ways to make long term care possible.
We also offer a range of services to help plan for estate transfer, whether that means a will or a trust. As a natural extension of this service we also can help a family with the probate of an estate when their loved one passes.
History
Established in 2013.
Since the late 1980’s, our founder, Stan Butterfield has been working in the legal system. He began as a legal technician for the U.S. Department of Justice and later served as a para-legal for DOJ. Ultimately he decided to get his law degree at Willamette University. Upon graduation Stan began his own private practice focusing on elder law.
In 2008 Stan was approached by the Polk County Board of Commissioners in Dallas, Oregon and asked to run for the office of District Attorney. Stan did run and was elected and began his four year term in 2009. Stan instituted a number of reforms during his time as D.A. Stan did not run for a second term and went back into private practice in 2013; again focusing on elder law.
