History

Established in 1988.

The professionals associated with the Springtree Group possess decades of successful experience in managing, securing growth capital, acquiring, investing and operating companies in the insurance space. Our experience ranges from early stage, high growth ventures to Fortune 50 firms. We offer a unique perspective resulting from having built, managed and sold our own companies.

Our Company began as a M&A company in the insurance space but over time, has expanded into financing for this group because of the critical unmet need for owners of these companies.

Sam Patterson S.

Business Owner

Mr. Patterson’s executive insurance experience spans over three decades, tracking a distinct focus in C-​level management responsibilities with Fortune 500 companies and significant entrepreneurial venues.

Among Mr. Patterson’s responsibilities is his long role as CEO of the Springtree Group. STG is a specialized firm with a high level of M&A, financing, organizational integration and operations expertise in the insurance space.

Concurrent with STG and prior roles included Mr. Patterson’s responsibilities as the President of Apex Global Partners, Division President for USI, President United Healthcare of LA & MS. In addition, he also served as the CEO of MaxSol, President of Birman & Associates and as the VP & CMO for Foundation Health, following 15 years of senior executive roles with CIGNA.

Mr. Patterson holds a MBA from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Business degree from Kent State, and a Certification in Advanced Business from the American Management Association.
