I don’t know how they manage to keep their brand of entertainment going. Some people say their best years are behind them, but honestly… how much fresh material can you expect from guys who have lived and breathed this stuff for decades? And somehow they keep it entertaining, relevant, and even informative. The Ticket is practically the only radio I listen to. Yes, THE only radio (I have to search the Interwebs for anything else worth listening to). The continued loyalty of those who have left the station for other ventures, as well as friends of the station, should speak volumes. Followill, Razor, Doocy, Feherty, Dirk, etc., are just a handful of big examples. And Gordo, Sturm, The Great Donovan, etc., are great talents that could move on at any time, but The Ticket recognizes and rewards their greatness, just as they recognize the greatness that is The Ticket.
They are still the best in the business, and a galaxy separates them from the competition. I don’t always agree with the hosts’ opinions, but I don’t care. They don’t sugar coat their opinions and they aren’t homers for the local sports teams. I’m a Cowboys, Stars, Rangers, and Mavs fan, but when the ownership, management, or players deserve a kick in the shorts, they get it from 1310. And the hosts also give praise when it is due and genuinely wish the teams to do well (despite the occasional adversarial schtick from The Old Grey Wolf). Add to this the entertainment value, the multi-​talented hosts (some of them are also accomplished musicians), and the attention to the DFW scene, and you have yourself a winner.

I use to like Norm, but after Ali died, one of your announcer stated that Ali wouldn’t serve his country because they weren’t serving him. What if every one would have said that and not served their country, we would have been in worst shape possible now. Tell the mothers of the sons who gave their lives, and had to bury their sons around 19 – 20 years old. I will boycott your station for such insensative comment. He was a draft dodger!

Website sucks, really difficult to stream and podcast. You just lost a listener

I would have given them a four or five star, but honestly Danny Balis makes me want to punch my radio. So, I tune out of the hardline. He needs to be a producer and turn his microphone off. Love everything else about the ticket, but Danny Balis destroys everything

I’d give this station five stars if they’d stop running advertisements 50% of the airtime. I just can’t take a station that runs that many commercials. Other than that I like this station, and I’m not into sports, well maybe a little.

I really don’t know how I made it so long without being a P1. I used to be someone flipping between Russ Martin and suffering through whatever was flying through 103.3 FM. Finally, Colin Cowherd was too much and I made the jump to the little Ticket. This is the way sports radio should. Wait, start again. This is the way ALL talk radio should be. Even those who don’t follow sports can enjoy the Ticket. The best I can describe it is as an inside joke that everyone you know is in on.

P1 day 1. Who wants to hear some guys from other name stations that don’t know our local sports scene tell you about how our teams are or should be. F**k that I wanna hear about the Big Black Cowboy computer tell us how things really are. I want to hear fake Jerry talk about his team screwing the pooch and losing another game. Well now you know how great this station is so stop reading and get online and listen or tune into 1310 The Ticket asap. Don’t forget my favorites the dramatic readings of Tiger woods fun with whores. If you got big boobs like the hardline hear from you and always wake up your significant other in that special way.

Unless I’m in the mood for music, the Ticket is always on my radio in my car, home, or anywhere else. Even when I go out of town, I listen to the ticket stream with my Android phone or my laptop.

The Ticket is the greatest radio station in the DFW Metroplex. It’s better than the bloated music stations and it destroys it’s competition in the sports talk genre.
Each show offers something different in terms of broadcast style, humor and dynamic. They talk sports in a way the other two local stations just can’t match. It’s for the common man, but it’s for the savant as well. It just works.
My car radio is tuned in when I’m driving. My home radio is tuned in when I’m at home. My cell phone streams the broadcast when I’m not near the other two.
Add in the events they hold around the Metroplex, and its entertainment at its finest.

Five and a half years ago I was a Russ Martin listener (I know, right?), but I shared a cube with a guy at work who was a Day 1 P1. Every afternoon at 3 he would fire up the internet stream and get the Hardline going. It didn’t take long for me to realize the greatness that is the Ticket. My life has improved in every way since becoming a rabid devotee of 1310.
You like sports? They talk sports way better than any other station because they don’t bore you to fucking tears with high-​minded, pseudo-​expert, condescending, blowhard sports opinions. If you want that crap, go listen to ESPN. No, the Ticket makes sports enjoyable. And funny. See, sports is only part of what they do, but they’re the best in town at it.
The Musers are there to wake you up in the morning, ever so gently. And Gordo is there to yank the wheel of the bus every few minutes. His goal? To drive the bus into the most uncomfortable ditch he can find, and that’s why they call him The Great Gordo. Hell, the man even has a 14″ burrito named after him.
Norm is pure, unadulterated, hardcore sports. He gambles. He sometimes gets confused. He yells at his callers. Even if you’re not a hardcore sports nut, you almost have to listen. You’ll be smarter for it, you might win a little at the horse track, and you’re almost guaranteed to hear a live train wreck.
Some days, BaD Radio is my favorite radio show ever. Bob Sturm is a true sports dork — a savant, really. He’s EXTREMELY smart and can break games down in ways you never thought of (Mavs stat of the year: avg shot distance. Look it up.). But he’s definitely not an asshole about it. That’s Dan’s job, and that’s why I love the show. Both guys are deadpan in their delivery, but have maybe the sharpest wits on radio. Donovan brings a little color to the party (literally), with bits like barbershop interviews. It’s hard to explain their dynamic, so just dial it up and enjoy.
The anchor, or course, is the Hardline. Mike «The Old Grey Wolf» Rhyner, Corby «Cobra» Davidson, and Danny «Black Dan Panther» Balis team up for the most eclectic radio mix in town. Rhynes is the sportsiest, and a tortured Rangers fan. Corby is the cocky SOB with the pterodactyl cackle. Danny, the producer, is the deadpan dark cloud. From sports to music to entertainment news to insightful Dallas history lessons, this show has it all. And Friday evening’s concert calendar is must-​listen radio that can bring the show to a grinding halt.
Oh, and if you need something to soothe your Saturday morning hangover, Danny (with Dave Lane) also has a show of his own — the Orphanage. Hints From Heloise, set to Kraftwerk’s music, is just genius…
You like sports? Funny bits? Music? Camping? The Ticket is the only radio station in the world (as far as we know) that sends the entire crew on a camping trip. Real camping, with campfires, whiskey, and an open mic late at night. It’s the stuff legends are made of. Spend some time with The Little Ticket and you’ll be hooked. Hard.
God I’m a radio dork now… Sorry.

Simply put, this is the ONLY sports radio (hell, the only radio at all) worth your time. The Ticket finds that perfect balance between sports, shtick & guy talk and never fails to entertain.
From 530am-​10am you’ve got the Musers. They are sports intensive but mix in plenty of comedy and weirdness courtesy of Gordon Keith, yuck monkey to the stars.
10am-​noon is the legendary Norm Hitzges. Norm is all sports, all the time but has really added a few clubs to his bag since coming to The Ticket. He’s really fit in well with the whole vibe of the place and seems to really enjoy being on the station with the rest of the guys.
From noon-​3pm you’ve got the boys of BaD Radio (with Donnie Doo). Sports Sturm is sports heavy while Dan McDowell is a lovable prick. Donnie, the lone brother, more than carries his weight in both areas.
Last, but not least is the 3pm-​7pm crew, The Hardline. Mike Rhyner, Corby Davidson & Danny Tom Paul Merle Earl Balis put on one helluva show, mixing in Entertainment News (for YOU), sports talk, music talk, bits and all manner of wackiness each and every day.
Do yourself a favor and jump on board. It’s the only thing going on radio.

P1 since day 1. When the radio gets changed in my car it is only because I have the kids with me (not very family friendly broadcasting).
This is not just sports radio-​more like guy radio (not to say women can’t also appreciate it). Listening to the station really is like sitting around talking about anything that comes to mind with your friends. It’s the kind of stuff we all talk about and it makes for great radio.
Now-​not all the shows are my cup of tea. Norm is just to dry and sportsy for me (except around the draft when I love listening to him-​he really is an old school pioneer of the craft). The Tea Bag… I mean Box is boring to those of us who don’t care about golf (but «the anus is on you» if you don’t like it).
This may not be programming for everyone-​but if you like it you will like it a helluva lot This is best proven by the legions of fans who show up for remotes, Summer Bashes, Ticketstock, etc. A very rabid fan base-​and you can count me amongst them!

I could be a P1 if my stupid clock radio at work would pick up AM.
I have just recently jumped on the Ticket’s bandwagon. For many years I’ve been told the greatness of the Ticket, but between Howard Stern, and then Russ Martin, and Pugs and Kelly; I haven’t needed another show. But after every show got cancelled, I finally gave the Ticket a listen, and holy what the fuck, this is the funniest thing I’ve listened too. They talk a lot of sports, obviouslly, but other topics too. I apologize to everyone that told me about this station and I failed to listen.

While I am not a P1 since Day 1, I started listening in during my coaching days, so I could get some good BS’ing in with my former fellow whistle blowers and yellers. They would discuss this mysterious morning show called the Muser’s, that had fake Jerry Jones, Dirk’s and everyone else under the sun, but also the hilarious Muse in the News segment. So about 8 years ago, I joined the «in crowd», and have not looked back since.
While the station has only changed a bit over the past few years (Gregg-​o leaving and now Bacsik but he was a late-​comer anyways), the content they have is always fresh, funny and informative! My faves are the Musers with Gordo in the not so distant background and the Hardline with Corby and Mike. The shows are more man-​shows, where they talk on hot sports and give their HSO’s but also touch on the entertainment world and other topics — ie. BAD radio doing Gay not Gay segments.
Sometimes the lineups get mashed up and switched but most of teh time you can catch the shows at these times:
5:30am-10:00am = Musers (Dunham and Miller with Gordo)
10:00am– 12pm = Norm
12pm to 3:30 pm = BAD radio (Bob and Dan)
3:30pm to 7pm = Hardline (Mike and Corby)
7pm-​9pm– Top 10 moments of the day
And yes– women listen in quite a bit. My GF finds it great to hear things said from a guy’s point of view sometimes rather than listening to the douchy Kidd Kraddick.

I’ve listened to The Ticket for nearly 9 years now and all I can say is the best years are behind them. They still do the things that keep them number one but they’ve lost something. I hate to say it but the pill-​head that is Greg Williams was the personality of the station. Sure Gordo is interesting and funny but its obvious how much they miss The Hammer. They play greggo drops everyday, they reference him almost as much as they do the tickers. Its sad but listening isn’t as fun. Rheiner almost always mails it in. Corby is not a co host, just a side kick. meh.

P1 Day 1. This is not a ‘sports only’ station: there is a liberal mix of humor and sports talk. Some people come for the humor; some for the sports.
AM Drive: Dunham and Miller Show (with the Gordon Keith)
George Dunham and Craig Miller have been together in some form since college at UNT and their chemistry is a result of this. George does great ‘sports,’ but he isn’t the comedic force, and his right-​wing, social conservatism is often displayed (e.g., he freaks out at the thought of breast feeding). Craig Miller is the more comedic of the duo with a very sophomoric, «farts-​are-​funny» sense of humor. The true comedic engine of the show is Gordon Keith, who is also a media whore: You may have seen him on WFAA, in Quick, or on screen at the Lido. This is my favorite show of the day.
AM 10 — 12: Norm Hitzges, the local sports legend, is the only true «Sports Only» slot of the day. He knows (nose?) sports better than anyone on the show, and I’d say he knows it better than anyone locally in any medium, and I’d put him up against any blowhard in NYC, LA, Chicago, and especially Bristol (home of ESPN). His rants and on-​air temper tantrums at callers are legendary.
Afternoons 12 — 3: Bob and Dan with Donovan. Bob Sturm is second only to Norm in terms of encyclopedic sports knowledge: his best bit is to recall instantly any Super Bowl by year, team and score. He is The Sports Bully. Dan McDowell is the guy with the whiney voice who has a penchant for needling people and finding out what someone’s hot-​button issues are and taking things just far enough to piss them off: Lee Corso stormed off the set at his JOKE that Lee posed in Playboy. Dan also managed to insult Dale Hanson by pointing out that Dale has a huge ego. Dan has balls, big 12-​pounders. Donovan Lewis is a ‘new’ edition and has worked out nicely. His ‘bits’, like Ghetto Jeopardy, add an urban feel and his self-​deprecating humor works well. Popular bits include ‘gay not gay,’ ‘Homer Call of the Week,’ and ‘Scoops Callahan, 1920s reporter guy’.
Afternoon Drive 3:30 –7:00 The Hard Line. IMHO, this is the weakest show of the lineup but it has one of the two most coveted spots. When Greg Williams left, the show went downhill. Mike Rhyner mails it in every day with the same catch phrases, same analysis, and total disinterest in what the other hosts are saying (he actually corrects callers when they use his real name and wants everyone to call him «Rhynes». Forcing a nickname is gay). His time has passed. Corby Davidson was the ‘yuck monkey’ when it was Greg and Mike. Now Corby has filled in for Greg and Corby does a great job at this. But his sports analysis is limited to OU Football with very average insights into Mavs, Cowboys, and no insight into the Stars or College Basketball. Corby is very funny and should stick with that role. Other than Corby, the comedic genius is Michael Gruber (Grubes). He needs more chances to play more drops. Finally, this show features way too much of the producer, Danny Balis. On the other shows, the producers take a back seat and they aren’t ‘on air’ so much. Danny is a good producer, but go ‘mike off’ on Danny, please.

With the exception of 90.1 and the new Lone Star 92.5, this is the only station I listen to. .. they are funny, informative, funny, and mostly informative. And they don’t take themselves very seriously. .. SPORTS! And all that implies.
