South West Dallas Eye Care

It is such a shame, that the front desk and techs are responsible for me giving this «COMPANY» such a low rating. I stressed company, because from the beginning when I came in I felt I was getting scammed. Upon entering I asked the front desk clerk how much was the eye exams. I was told it depends on if I had insurance. Ok, I can understand that I did not have insurance, but I did have a discount plan with Davis. I was charged $ 79 for an exam that the discount provider told me would cost me $ 50 without my discount from its independent affiliates which this company claims to be. A customer who had come in when I was on the way out, who had no insurance or Davis Plan, was charged the same $ 79.
Before it was all said and done I was out of pocket $ 200.00 with my discount plan; for READING GLASSES; I even choose their less expensive frames. I found the same glasses at Dollar Tree, and I use them more because I can not even see my desktop computer screen with the glasses I bought from SWDEC. After doing a little research on how much it would have cost me at other affiliates I called and asked why did I get charged so much for reading glasses. The very rude front desk attendant went into what I had on my glasses, like $ 50 reflection free lenses. REFLECTION FREE??? For reading glasses, I can’t see anything with the glasses 12 inches from my face. What am I reflecting in between that distance, the sun off the beautiful pages of my books?
The lenses won’t stay in the frames, it so embarrassing to take out your glasses and have to find the lenses in the case and fit them back into the frame.
The doctors and techs here are very good and helpful, I just don’t understand this. Great doctors, horrible staff.

Dr. Nguyen is excellent, communicating his findings clearly and listening very well to this patient. I have found his staff to be very attentive, cheerful and always providing quality patient care. I have recommended this office to others needing eyecare and would do so without hesitation again.

Dr Nguyen is excellent. He has caught things other doctors missed. His nurse are super. Always willing to help and understanding cause i get anxious with things around my eyes.
His office staff is good for the most part. I have had two issues repeatedly. First one office lady doesn’t listen. When it comes to updating files, making appointments or even her asking questions she won’t listen. Things need to be repeated to her. Second, my glasses came after being order and the same women called me to tell me they were in and I told her i would pick them up that day after 4pm, office closes at 6pm that day, once i got off of work. She repeated to call one to twice and hour asking when was I going to pick up my glasses even calling me at work. And it was the same women.
My other issue is the wait. You will be there at least an hour and a half. Most of that time will be waiting. Waiting at least 20 mins after your appointment time and 30 more in the room.
Now beside her and the wait, everything is great at this office. Even order glasses take less then a week.
