Love coming on Mondays! It’s so much fun. My friends and I are regulars here and we always have a great time! Ryan was the bartender and he was super nice and attentive! Loved him! I recommend this place to all my friends all the time.

One of my go to spots when in Dallas. This time we went on a Thursday and it was 10x better. Different kind of scene, a more mature crowd(maybe), with live classic rock music, which I love. We still had to wait for drinks, but not too long. Fridays and Saturdays are probably the worst. Parking was 10x easier to find, of course because it’s a Thursday and not the weekend. Needless to say, everything was great on a Thursday. Noise level was still there. It’s Dallas, you have to dress to impress… blah…blah…blah hahaha. It’s ok I was still wearing my beanie though.

So&So’s is probably one of my favorite bars in Dallas. The staff is friendly and their service is always on point. The crowd is always fun here too! The music here is really good! I love going on Mondays because that’s when it’s industry night here! It gets pretty busy on Monday nights also!

The live music is a fun change to the typical bar on McKinney. Service is just OK. They have some tasty drinks but they aren’t my favorite in town while the price tag is consistent. The pizza is also tasty but I got very ill after having it a couple of nights ago. Overall, this is a viable option to meet up with friends in a casual atmosphere nearby other casual bars.

We tried going here prior to a Dallas Stars game. We parked in the valet parking lot across the street and walked over. It wasn’t busy, seeing as it was still early(about 4pm). There were about 3 tables and 3 people at the bar. We didn’t know the seating procedure, so we sat ourselves and bartender saw us, and didn’t tell us anything different. There was another guy stocking the bar and a waitress working the floor. We sat at our table for 8 – 10 mins without anyone acknowledging our existence, despite the fact that we were staring at them, hoping they would get a clue. We ended up just leaving and walking down the street to hopdoddy. If this is how they run the restaurant, it won’t be around long…

Updating this as I have been back twice since my initial review. The food is still great and the atmosphere is fabulous. The service is top notch… especially if you ask for Erin. She rocks! They also have outside seating which is perfect for this time of year in Texas!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! We are visiting from out of town and had the BEST experience here! We came in for lunch and sat at the bar with Courtney and she was absolutely amazing! She gave the most amazing service and has the best personality! If we ever come back to Dallas, we will be back here because of how great she made our experience here!

Went here for brunch. Really good prices for large portions and the musician there was amazing. Nice atmosphere with a really short wait, good service. The food isn’t out of this world but it’s great for the price.

Jamie and I came here for the second time in a month today, and it was so so :) Food: we did the(fried) chicken lettuce wraps and ceviche, and they were both so so :) — chicken for the wraps tasted like dry, overcooked chicken breast, attempted at reconstitution through breading and frying. It didn’t work, but the lettuce and sauces were fresh and edible, if not extraordinary. — ceviche: artfully presented using a long half of a long rectangular plate, with an artful spirt of sriracha mayo on the other half, this was essentially a fresh veggie salad with a bit of swordfish ceviche sprinkled in. Tasty, but way too low on the fish to veggie ratio to be called ceviche in good conscience. Drink specials: sign me up for ice cold Community Mosaic pints for $ 3 all day long– very nice.
We’ll be back, someday. Maybe.

Due to the fact i was here for a bachelor party stop i didn’t get to try their food. The bar atmosphere was very alive here though for a Thursday. The bouncer was very nice in greeting us and welcoming us. We had a couple of beers and some shots which came out very quickly. The pool table area was really cool and the people playing were very inviting in terms of us jumping in to play. There was a stage where i would guess bands would play live with VIP areas on either side. The staff was very helpful as we walked around and admired the place. They approached us with specials, VIP area prices, and offering to take our drink orders. As a bar this place was really special because the atmosphere was fun and filled with young people looking to get a little crazy. I would definitely come back here.

Seems like this place has a problem with accepting people of color. And from the looks of the reviews, quite a few people have experienced it. So sad that it’s 2015 and people can’t get in because they are black. Geez. The positive thing is, there are plenty of places in Dallas that don’t do this so our business can be taken to another restaurant. But This place needs to close down.

I’ve been here a couple times STRICTLY for atmosphere — whenever I’m showing my friends Uptown, this is a perfect representation of it. While the food is good, it is very pricey for what you get. I would suggest the fried avocado appetizer, and one of the flatbreads. Their cocktails are fun and the Jiminy Cricket is super tasty, but again… you leave feeling like you’re broke.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. Went on a Saturday night for drinks with a group of friends. Clearly there were people being singled out due to skin color. Examples included: someone being pushed extra hard when someone was trying to pass with plenty of room to go around, someone handing beer bottles to a friend over the heads of young ladies of color and literally elbowing them in the face, and a comment by a bouncer saying«welcome to America», all within 30 minutes of being there. Needless to say, we left. Didn’t spend a dime there after seeing what I agree other reviewers are calling a «douche» setting.

We stopped by So & So’s when looking to try something new on McKinney. I must say, it was a very pleasant surprise! The host warmly greeted us and took a lot of time to explain the new menu. Our waiter took some time getting out to our table, but once he was there he was great. He was very informative and stayed on top of everything. The menu was unique, but we loved it. We started out with the ceviche which was the best I’ve had in Dallas. Seriously — try it. Then my friend had the mushroom pizza and I had the pad thai. Both were fantastic! We tried several cocktails and perused their beer menu. Pretty awesome, unique selection and we liked everything we tried. Great food. Unique menu. Great service. We can’t wait to go back!

It’s a cool, fun, casual place for a good time with friends. The food is delicious, you just cant go wrong with anything. but my favorite is the pizza, extra cheese, very flavorful, it is just the perfect companion for a happy hour or to share with friends. Price is not bad and portions are very generous. Definitely worth it!

I came here for drinks a few weeks ago with some girlfriends and we wanted to sit out on the patio. There were about 5 empty tables, all of which had a reserved sign on them, so we went inside thinking that the outside area was off limits. Then, a hostess told us that we could sit outside, we just had to check in with a hostess. I think that is the weirdest thing ever. Why not just greet patrons as they walk up and seat them without all of the«reserved» signs that makes it all seem more important than what it is. I ordered a glass of wine since that was my drink of choice at dinner before arriving here. The wine was not good at all. But, that was no shocker because the wine list didn’t have a lot of great options anyway. I feel like if a bar is going to offer a product, they should try the products out and offer the best. Otherwise, don’t offer the product at all. If you prefer beer and liquor drinkers only, just offer beer and liquor. I doubt I would return. The inside looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since it opened. Or maybe that is just the vibe I got from it. Or maybe it was the super casual, douche type crowd and/or old men trying to get women that turned me off.

This might be the new Kung Fu if you ask me. The crowd had to go somewhere and it looks like this is the new spot for douchebaggery. The customer service is the absolute worst and I have a raising suspicion that they single out people. I was treated poorly, as was my entire party. We have gone here several times during the day for their pizza which was tasty. THe staff was pretty inattentive then, but nothing that really kept us from coming back every once in a while. Until last weekend… This time we were hanging out on the patio when a friend came back to the table visibly upset. Apparently although our IDs had already been checked at the door, one of the bouncers there had literally followed him to the bathroom and asked for ID after he got out of the bathroom. What kind of mess is that? None of us were misbehaving or intoxicated. It was a couples date and he had no right to do that. Fast forward to me going to the bathroom myself, the same bouncer guy AKA«the bathroom police» prevented me form using the second bathroom(even though I knew it was open to the public and had used it several times during previous visits and earlier that night). He was unnecessarily confrontational and I found it shocking that he would treat a woman like that. As I waited for the first bathroom to open up, another patron(who obviously did not look like me) was greeted by this same bouncer and permitted to use the restroom that he told me was closed. Unless we have stepped back into the 1950’s, I am seriously missing something here. This place does NOT represent Dallas.

Came across this place on Cinco de Mayo. The inside smells kinda funky, like new wood furniture but you get used to it eventually. They had specials on the margaritas so we had a couple of those for $ 4. They came in a very small plastic cup and the flavor was okay. It was very tangy and watered down. We also tried the supersonic pizza(suggestion of our server) and this pizza had blackened shrimp, bacon and avocado. The initial taste of this pizza was good, the crust was just the right crisp and the flavor was good but as we kept eating the pizza, it eventually got really salty as the blackened shrimp was over seasoned. The bacon pieces on the pizza were also very hard that every time we ate one, we basically had to spit it out. I did enjoy how generous they were with the avocado and the addition of spicy mayo sauce on the top was very interesting. Since they just opened, they didn’t have a very big menu yet but I think this place has the potential to be better. I might come back in a couple months.
