I referred a friend to this office because I’ve had good experiences at the Allen location, unfortunately the office staff is terrible. They spend their time socializing so loudly it can be heard from the waiting area(heard on many occasions, not a one-off occurrence). The front desk staff was busy taking a personal cell phone call. Calls were not returned and appointments were scheduled then cancelled the day of. I wonder if the Doctor realizes that her staff is driving her business away.

First, expect to wait 30+ mins after your appointment time. I just had to get some growths frozen off my hand. The first time I went in, Dr. Rodgers didn’t fully examine my hand and I actually had to go back when I found another small growth. When I went back to get the smaller growth removed, the PA missed it a just burnt my skin. This resulted in me having to go back a third time. The treatment has worked so far. If I would have to do it again, I would have payed more attention to make sure they got everything the first time.

I went this pass Tuesday to get some areas checked out and maybe go ahead and getting them removed. The office staff was nice over the phone when I made the appointment and when I got there, there was no wait time. But instead of not having any wait time being the bad point, I instead felt rushed through the whole process. The nurse asked questions about my concerns and why I am there. Next thing I know what seem like 10 minutes I am already done with my doctor’s visit. Doctor stated everything was fine and not to worry about, but didn’t ask what I wanted to do about them. The doctor didn’t ask about the additional items I wanted to talk about. My appointment was at 9:00AM, I was out by 9:20AM. This includes me doing my paperwork, talk to the nurse, undressing, talk to the doctor and redressing. Very rushed. I will not go back to them. I want a doctor that is concerned with my issues and really ask how I want my skin.

I saw the other Unilocal reviews after I’d already made an appointment for a skin cancer screening and I was a little apprehensive. I had the first appointment of the day today and it was great. I waited a little for the appointment to start but not anymore than at any other doctor. The office is nice the staff members that assisted me were extremely friendly and courteous. Dr. Rodgers was very patient, kind, and reassuring. She didn’t rush through the review and made sure to fully answer all my questions and address my fears and concerns. The office is full of advertisements for more cosmetic services they offer so I was a little worried they would try to sell me cosmetic services but there was no mention of anything like that. I will definitely keep going there.

After finally getting an appointment with this office weeks after I tried to do so, and after never receiving a call back from the assistant because she recorded the incorrect call back number. I finally successfully made an appointment and I arrived at the office waiting about 20 minutes to be taken back to the room, I waited another 35 – 40 minutes which was already past my scheduled appointment time. I heard the Dr walk into the room next to me for a different appointment during MY appointment time. Once greeted by the assistant, she wasn’t able to explain anything to me and the questions she was asking me were very difficult to understand. Her voice was so soft, she stumbled over her words making me ask her repeatedly to repeat herself. She did not seem to know what she was talking about in regards to what the doctor was telling her.(i.e.: the prescription and over the counter help) The doctor finally came in and did a biopsy, which took maybe 2 minutes. Once I was called back into the office to remove the stitch weeks later and to review the results, I was instructed to use a prescription. I asked how much it would be and was told $ 10.00 and that it would be at my personal pharmacy. Later that day I called the pharmacy to see if it was ready for pick up and they didn’t have a record of it being ordered. I called the Addison location of Skin Specialists and did not get an answer, I then reached out to the Allen location. They informed me my prescription had been sent to another pharmacy, one that will fill the prescriptions at a lower price compared to a CVS or Walgreens. I was never told this from the medical assistant at the Addison location. I was also not informed I had to call this other pharmacy and confirm this prescription, confirm my personal information, and pay for it before they even started to be filled and shipped to my house. If I didn’t do my research and get to the bottom of this then my prescription would have been at a standstill and not filled! Once I confirmed, paid and had this set in motion of being shipped to my house, I then called the Addison location assistant. It took me calling 5 times to get an answer. When I talked to the assistant she said she forgot to tell me it was sent to a different pharmacy because«sending it to the pharmacy she did was just out of her personal habit,» she forgot to tell me I needed to confirm and pay before they would send it and she gave me to other pharmacy number to figure it out on my own. I was very unsatisfied with this place, it was clean and they did get results that I needed. However, the CONSTANT runaround from the moment I made my appointment to still waiting on my prescription is unnecessary and absolutely inexcusable for the time and money I am spending. They made me pay an additional co pay(that isn’t cheap) to come and get my single stitch taken out and asked me to return in 2 – 4 weeks to revisit the issue. I will not be returning to this location. I believe if I am paying the more expensive costs this office requires then I should not be treated this way. I hope they do make a point to re-train the employees that need it. I don’t believe an assistant to a doctor should have such a major role in educating the patient on the prescription, how to order the prescription and pushing the prescription through to a pharmacy without being properly trained to do so. This could be an amazing experience with the time and effort being put in by all that are involved but they don’t seem to have the desire to do so and I do not have the willingness to stick around and see the change. If you do go to this location just do your research and fingers crossed things are more aligned for you than in the past for others.

I was recommended to see Dr Rodgers by my family doctor. But I will not be going back after my first visit. The front desk experience was fine. I was brought to the exam room within 10 minutes. The doctor’s assistant was a young girl and I could barely understand her. No not an accent problem, but her voice was soft and her words were blurred, like a kid talking. I had to keep asking her to repeat her questions. Then I was there sitting in a freezing cold room for 45 minutes. I finally walked out to the nurses’ station and asked, but the same girl just stared at me and said there’s nothing she could do with the temperature. Sigh. Finally the doctor came in and moved me to a different room. Well after talking to me for 3 minutes she wanted a skin sample, so she told her assistant to get the tools. Then she was gone for another 15 minutes. So I was there for around 1 hour 15 minutes just to see the doctor for 5 minutes!!! The next week I called back to find out my skin test result. Well they put me on hold, and I waited with my headset while I continue working at work, I almost forgot who I called and what it was for since the wait was so long. Finally I heard a noise on the other side and then the line went dead. Apparently somebody realized the phone handset was off the phone, but instead of checking who’s waiting, he or she just put the handset back on the phone and hung up on me. I am so upset after these two experiences I am never going back again. Overall the office staff are incompetent, and the office has no time concept. What’s the point of making an appointment if I won’t be seen for another hour? And was the doctor going off to see the next patient between my time, which made me waited even longer? Well I am not wasting my time so she can maximize her profit. And perhaps she should have spent more money hiring better people or training them first.

I’m not sure what to think of this place. Its in a nice area and looks very hoity toity, but I’m not sure what the physicians are doing here. I went in to get a prescription refill for a prescription I have been using on a daily basis for 4 years. I decided to try this place since it was closer to home compared to my previous dermatologist. As we were wrapping things up I asked the assistant physician if I will be getting a year supply. She replied with, «You will be getting a prescription for 4 refills». At this point I am assuming I will be getting 4×90 day supply prescription. When I get to the pharmacy the pharmacist fills out a 30 day supply of my prescription. Something didn’t seem right so I asked the pharmacist why only a 30 day supply as I was expecting at least a 90 day for this trip. The pharmacist informed me that I only had a prescription for 4×30 day supply. At this point I had a feeling the dermatologist office botched up a perfectly simple visit. I called the dermatologist office to complain why I wasn’t given a year supply like I have been with all other dermatologist offices for a medication I have been using for years. I was told that due to the office policy it was mandatory for new patients to have a follow-up visit with the doctor within 3 – 4 months, therefore the initial prescription will only be filled out for 3 – 4 months. At this time I was pretty furious as I asked the assistant prior to leaving if I will be receiving a year supply. Not only that, if they expected me to be back in 3 – 4 months, why wasn’t a follow-up appointment set up prior to leaving? Personally I felt like they were trying to bring me back in so I can pay another co-pay and they can send the insurance company an invoice with an exorbitant amount for a 10 minute visit where they ask me how things are going. I apologize for the long drawn out story, but this was definitely one place that infuriated me due to mis-communication and lack of professionalism. Will not recommend to any of my friends and colleagues and will also not be returning in the future.

I wish I could give a great review, but I can’t, the behaviour by one of the dermatologist Shehnaz Zaman Sarmast was off putting to say the least. I go to the dermatologist so that they may look at my skin, talk to me, give me pointers on what I should do, and how I may improve my skin. One of the biggest things that you would think the dermatologist would do is to look at your skin and not look disgusted the entire time that they are speaking to you. You already feel bad that you are having problems with your skin, but to feel ostrized by the DERMATOLOGIST… I’m going to find a dermatologist that is interested in their patient… left feeling worse than I did going in, but at least the RN was exceptionally nice to me, maybe she was making up for the dermatologist
