Roots Juices

I’m a juice snob, let’s just put that out there.
I’ve put off coming to this place because of the not so great reviews. I mean, if i’m going to shell out $ 10 for fruits and veggies in a bottle, it better be damn good!
Fortunately, this place was exceeded expectations. First off, the parking. All of the businesses off the Oaklawn/​Lemmon corridor has crappy parking. Luckily, I recently found out that there’s parking BEHIND the building (I’m a little behind). The juice itself is actually pretty reasonably priced (i.e., yes, LESS than $ 10/​btl) but it does come already pre-​packaged. The staff allowed me to try some samples, and a bunch were very tasty. I like that there are a lot of options, and also the fact that they had a lot of other healthy snacks for sale.

**“Abs are made in the kitchen!” If your’e going to start getting healthy, I feel like one should start with what one put’s into his or her body! Your body is a well oiled machine and a person should treat it as such!
I wish I could follow my own advice! Some of the positive notes are as follows:
~ Knowledgeable staff!
~ Healthy drinks to fit a number of different ailments!
~ All kind of healthy snacks.
~ Listen to the staff, when you want to try a new shot of something and they pour you a chaser shot, it probably for a very good reason.
~ Great location in that it’s near downtown and Uptown in Dallas.
~ Pretty good prices, for great quality products!
Bad notes:
~ The parking! **Hidden secret! Park on the side street, the north side of Lucky’s café!

Cute little location, friendly and helpful staff. The juices are pretty good. I did a 3 day cleanse and even though it was pure hell I did feel much better afterwards. My only complaint is its a lil expensive.

Happened by this place today and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Very fresh, even though they don’t make it for you right there on the spot. Nevertheless, what was in the bottle was quite nice. This is another place that has a great idea that needs a bigger space.

I have never done a cleanse but I love coming here to get to get the GO GREEN juice! While the juices are on the pricier side ($ 8 compared to $ 9-​$ 12 I have paid elsewhere), they are still cheaper than Buda in West Village and Boom Juice. They have a huge variety of juices that are freshly pressed, parking is decent and I am always in and out with the Go Green (Celery, Kale, Romaine, Spinach, Cucumber & Lemon). I have not tried anything else but this is the type of all veggie, no fruity/​sweet juice I get at any juice bar.

Meh — not so much. Maybe it’s me — I just assumed that for eight bucks, I’d get to watch you shove fresh produce in the thing, fuss over me a little and hand me a glorious, freshly prepared beverage.
We didn’t have the first two things I asked for, and the bottle I stuff I finally got for my eight bucks was tepid and needed more ginger…

Roots Juices fulfills any type of juice cleanse or fix you can imagine. Say you want to hydrate and get the old motor running… they have lots of accented waters (cayenne pepper, lemon juice, etc). Or perhaps you are purging your body of all unrighteousness. They have extended-​duration cleanses on deck.
I cannot quite tell if they are shooting for distribution only or if the storefront actually plays a big role in their business. Nonetheless, I enjoy the accessibility that Roots offers to the average joe… who just so happens to be dabbling into the granola life.
For a historically Tex-​Mex kind of town, Roots is doing justice for the healthy end of the spectrum. Specifically, you know you’ve arrived when you are pumping kale into your blood stream.

This place is great! I am new to the area and was very excited to find a juice bar literally just around the corner from me. With Wi-​Fi and friendly staff, I will definitely be a regular. Their juice cleanse packs are better priced than everything I’ve seen in the area, and they deliver free if needed. Kelly helped me and was so nice and helpful. Love the high vibes and fresh atmosphere.

My girlfriend recommended Roots because they do a large bottle of freshly juiced ginger and it makes doing regular ginger shots really easy. I have pretty substantial tummy issues (really totally stinks for a foodie!) so I have to regularly «rest» my digestion and go on all liquids. Now I’m not fasting to lose any weight, this is doctor orders, so I choose juice instead of just clear liquids. I’ve never had straight juiced ginger, so I wanted to go in to the store to sample. I did and they were out of ginger. No biggie — I like fresh, so they assured me they would have more the next day. I bought the big bottle of tumeric (tastes disgusting and its expensive, but really tummy healthy so I drink it) and the kids juice (carrots, pineapple, orange and apple) we often make at home & my daughter calls it bunny juice. The kids juice tastes great and got the seal of approval from my 5yr old too! The almond milk was TO. DIE. FOR. So sweet and decadent, it’s a real treat. Great to put in oatmeal, coffee or tea, or even use in smoothie at home too. They also have a nice selection of great smoothies too. I ordered a Maca smoothie and it was tasty and filling (needed a little more sweetener for my taste, but that’s easily fixed).
Anyway, absolutely LOVE that they deliver free with orders for $ 50. For me a couple juices, a couple of almond milks and its easy to get to $ 50 when ginger and tumeric are so pricey. Not complaining… I can’t juice those roots at home so it’s worth it to buy them ready-​made. The beet juice is really great too (who knew I would like that one!). I also love that Roots is open generous hours every day.
So why not 5 stars? Parking is a b!+@@ and while they have 2 reserved up front, it’s really hard to get to them. The location is so close to Lemmon Ave that it’s always packed at that light. It’s worth the wait to get in to experience their great products!
No complaints other than parking… I’m a new customer!

I’m usually over it on day 3 when I juice for cleanses. The hassle of having to go back and forth to the grocery store, washing produce, juicing daily and washing my juicer isn’t worth it for me. That’s when Roots comes in. At first, I couldn’t justify buying juice when I own a juicer, BUT CONVENIENCE said so. I’ve done their intermediate cleanse twice and was pleased both times. The juices are fresh, the turmeric shots were a nice bonus, and the staff is helpful.

I wish they carried turmeric is more products since the concoctions are pre mixed for the day. However, I can walk here and will probably move in. 8 $ for a 16oz. Juices and Smoothies served with a smile. Holla and I will meet you there.

I’m midway through a 3-​day level 2 cleanse (my first time juicing) and have been pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of all the juices. Taste is very subjective, so what’s good for one person might not be good for another. That said there’s not a single juice I have not enjoyed.
While I probably will not do a full 3-​day cleanse again (you need a balance of more protein and fat with less sugar for a real lasting weight loss), I will absolutely consider 1-​day cleanses or ordering some of my tip-​top favorites to have on hand.
I’m glad I’ve been able to do this, if simply to remind myself to consume more fruits, veggies and water.

On Day 2 of my juice cleanse, I was too busy to start the morning chopping up produce and re-​assembling my juicer. Instead, I opted to head on down to Roots Juices. My body was glad I did… my wallet not much.
It’s interior is bright, fresh and smells like a citrusy heaven! They sell everything from smoothies to juices to apparel to healthy snack foods. I stuck with the juice, the most healthy option. $ 16 total ($ 19 with tip) got my 2 single-​serve bottles packed with fresh, healthy, natural goodness. I particularly like that they don’t add ANYTHING other than produce/​fruits to their recipes (unlike Odawalla, Naked Juices, and too many others). And they still taste good!
The «immune booster» juice was a green juice that was unbelieveably good. So good in fact, that I had to go back and make sure that nothing was added to it. I also tried the «everything juice» which wasn’t as tasty, but still decent and had just about every organic veggie and fruit in it. I know my body was happy with this choice!
My only complaint is the price. I know there is a significant cost to eating (or drinking in this case) well. Yet even for raw juice this appears to be a bit high. TI was informed about their $ 50/​day juice cleanse set that will get you 5 juices total per day. Considering I have a juicer at home and just spent $ 45 in produce at Sprouts today that will last me the week, I’ll pass and just do the extra work. Short term hassle, but long term gain (plus I save money).
I recommend this place who is new to juicing or on the go a lot. It’s a great, convenient way to kickstart healthy eating, great for post-​workouts, or just a random treat!

Great place. I walked in and told employee (michael) that I was considering doing a cleanse and wanted to try a few of the juiced. He was so nice and helpful and gave me a small taste of each. All of them were really good in comparison to other juices I’ve had. There were several that I could easily drink daily. Point is, I had a great experience. Definitely give it a try.

I was feeling the need of a cleanse so I was researching and found this place really close by my house.
Customer service is not that good… I feel like I was bothering the employee by asking questions about the juices… She did not even offered me samples… I had to ask for them even when I told her I was looking to do a cleanse… She asked me if I have done before or if I am used to juice and after I said no she was kinda annoyed… The place would be better if employees were more amicable and offer samples so people can really see how great they are…
If it would have been for the selling skills of the girl I would have never bought the cleanse…
Anyways I went there cause I was gonna buy it… So I chose the 5 days cleanse LEVEL 3 even when the employee said I should choose level 1… I was more worried about the quality of the juices and wanted to do the level 3 because it was the cleanse with the less amount of sugar and more amount of vegetables and I’m all about watching the sugar I eat…
Anyways I only bought 1 day in case I did not like it, but for my surprise I’m at the end of day 4 and I’m full and happy, not hungry at all and my body feels and looks terrific…
1 Fat Fighter: I think this is the hardest for me to drink because it is really spicy… It tastes great but it’s just too spicy, after I drink it I always got the feeling that my entire body in on fire and I feel like it makes me sweat during the day which is great cause I normally don’t sweat
2 Skin Glow: This is super easy to drink… I love veggies so I actually like the celery taste more people complain about in the reviews: D I love this juice
3. Gin and Greens: this one does not smell that good but they taste does not bother me at all… you can actually taste the kale, gin, radish and cucumber on it.
4. Green Goddess: this one tastes really good for being just kale, Apple, romaine, celery and cucumber… I love this one!
5. Go Green: this ones tastes a lot like lemon and I enjoy it too
6. I mine Booster: It has jalapeño on it so it is a little bit spicy, no as spicy as the first one tho…
I have to say that I feel great and I have done 4 days so far, one more to go tomorrow but I feel like I can do it for one more week cause I feel great and I am not hungry at all
I would give you guys a 5 star cause I really like the juices but the 4 starts if for you guys to tell your employees to be more friendly :)
I almost forgot! I also tried the cleanse smoothie the first time I went there and it was probably the best smoothie I have ever tasted. It had almonds, chia seeds and I don’t even remember what else but it was amazing… I’ll probably keep going there twice a week to have smoothies :)

My favorite place for juice while I am in Dallas!!!
I’ve done their cleanses many times and have been very happy with them. The almond milk is amazing!

Placed an order and, although everything looked good online and I was able to complete my order, I was actually outside of their delivery zone. After my order did not come the next day during the delivery window I selected, I emailed them and they called shortly after to say they were going to ship the drinks to me the following Monday.
I ordered five beverages that I thought I would like the best and would be the most diverse in my juicing exploration. I had tried a several day juice fast before and was not interested in that this time… mostly because I almost lost my mind two days in and ate an entire pizza in retaliation.
So, this time it was easy going. The five drinks were:
Health Nut (#almondmilk): Almonds, Dates, Vanilla Bean, Sea Salt, Filtered Water
Such a delightful drink. It was good in the afternoon tiding me over between lunch and dinner. I would happily put this in my coffee in the morning as well. It just tasted so much better than almond milk you buy at the grocery store.
Go Green (#gogreen): Kale, Spinach, Romaine, Cucumber, Lemon
If there wasn’t cucumber and lemon in this drink, I wouldn’t have been able to finish it. Someone put some thought into this combination and saved it with those lighter elements. I felt very healthy drinking this, but I can’t imagine ordering it again.
Skin Glow (#glow): Apple, Spinach, Celery, Lemon
This one tastes exactly like you think it would– celery dominant. It wouldn’t be my first choice of beverage, but if it does make your skin glow, then I would drink it again. I felt like I needed to distract myself while drinking it, so I took it with me while running errands.
Fat Fighter (#fatfighter): Grapefruit, Orange, Ginger, Cayenne
This one is S-​P-​I-​C-​Y from the cayenne, has kick from the ginger, and has tartness from the grapefruit. I didn’t drink this one as a meal supplement, but did have it mid-​day because I was going to have a late lunch. The taste grew on me. Not entirely sure what the recommended intake of this juice is (e.g. how many per week) needed to «get results». If there were any specifics on what this combination did, that would be helpful.
Wake Up (#wakeup): Carrot, Apple, Ginger, Watermelon
I would have ordered this in the store. The flavors are attractive to me– and what was nice was how the Watermelon cut the zing of the ginger. I started drinking it on a video conference for work was surprised that I didn’t make any faces while drinking it. I didn’t need to really. It was mild enough to drink without a reaction.
Do I recommend Roots Juices? Yeah. Just be careful what you order and certainly consider what you want to get out of these juices before getting involved in the juice world. It is a little intense.

I was talked into doing the five day cleanse. Okay, a friend merely mentioned it and I wanted to do it too. He mentioned how good he felt past the initial day and losing weight which was motivation enough.
I went into the store to check it out although you can apparently purchase it all online. I went in so I could ask questions and express concerns. I talked to them about working out and contents of the juices… because I do work out and didn’t want to quit and I have a horrific reaction to carrots in large quantities. They let me taste the drinks in advance and decided to go with it. They said they would switch them out if I needed due to this reaction. Due to location I decided to buy my whole five days at once. I don’t recommend this… they assure you the drinks are okay for up to five days but i could tell the consistency was changing. Check out thier delivery options or buy them in batches of 2 or 3 days.
Now, the drinks. There were six a day. I classify them as follows, and this is my own specific taste: two were tasty, two were tolerable, and two were pretty gross (to me). You drink the same drinks each day. Each day costs $ 50, five days costs $ 250. This is an investment folks.
1. Wake Up. carrot and watermelon, apple, ginger. I think it was only tolerable in my book because I really don’t like watermelon (I know! I am the only person on Earth who dislikes it!)
2. Hydrate. cucumber, lime, mint, apple, ginger… also tolerable. It tastes like a spa! Ha!
3. Green Goddess. kale, apple, spinach, romaine, celery, cucumber. Can’t lie… I had to chug it and gag for ten minutes to get it down. It tasted healthy (:
4.Lean & Fit. grapefruit and mint. I actually enjoyed this one.
5. Liver Cleanse. When I went into the store they were out of this so they gave me the everything instead… It had everything from beets to jalapenos. I feel the same way about this as I do Green
tasted healthy… with a kick!
6. Health Nut. Almond Milk, vanilla bean, dates, and sea salt. This one was the best! I mean really amazing… I would drink it outside of the cleanse.
As the week went on I noticed inconsistencies between what I was drinking and what my friend had been drinking just the week prior and the website also mentions two «energy shots» one of which they did not give me.
The first day wasn’t too bad, day two was tough with some slight headaches. For me though, day five was the worst. I was ready for the nourishment that real food that you chew provides. I felt hungry and was tired of it. (hungry plus angry = hangry) I also don’t think I consumed enough calories for the exercise I did that day, makeing me feel sick. I did lose about ten pounds and overall feel really good post cleanse. If I were to do it again I would do three days. Yeah, I could have bought a juicer but Roots Juices provides a way to check it out before committing to a new kitchen apparatus. I would check it out… and I might be up for a 3 day cleanse again soon.

I’m really surprised at all of the bad reviews on here.
I love Roots Juices. I always get fantastic service when I’m there. I’m greeted as soon as I walk in with a happy face. If I ever need to sample something they’ll offer it to me (even though I’ve had almost all of their juice already). Brent and everyone that works there knows all about juice and juicing and it’s benefits for you and will answer any questions for you. No one has ever been rude to me. When you walk in there you feel like family. My only thought on that bad reviews are, well we are in Dallas and people can be pretentious bitches so it was probably the customer walking in with an already bad snotty Dallas attitude.
The cost is $ 8 bucks per bottle which is pretty great PLUS you are giving your money to LOCAL business and not a chain like Whole Foods. I used to get my juice at Whole Foods and it was not cold pressed and it was $ 1 cheaper, but once Roots opened it’s doors in Dallas I’ve been going there ever since because the quality is much better, the service is phenomenal, and it always smells really good inside the store. Just ask to sample something if you’re not sure, and ask nicely!
The location is not far from my place so I will usually stop by on the way to work. The parking situation is not fun during rush hour, but that’s about it the only negative side to it.

I have been waiting for a juice place to open in uptown! Finally went yesterday and I was not disappointed! I got The green machine (?) and the health nut and they do not disappoint. Actually I would compare the health nut to the milk of the gods! So good!
Absolutely love it how they let you taste it before you buy it. I mean each juice is 8 bucks and to pay 8 bucks for a juice you don’t like would suck (yes this has happened to be before)
