This place is great but it’s currently inaccessible due to construction. They don’t pick up the phone, so I imagine they’re at least semi-permanently closed. Sad! So much better than Campisi’s! Worth the walk further west to get decent pizza now that this spot is closed.

I think this is the pizza place I had Friday night! It was really good reminded me of Rays in NYC! nice and greasy, good taste for the crust! Of course we eat one while walking and got intercepted by about 5 people… «dude! where did you get thaaaaat!!» anyway i liked it felt good going down and out! ;)

Definitely my favorite pizza joint in Dallas. The trend now is «authentic». Everyone is «authentic» this and«authentic» that. Most of the new pizza places that are popping up are«authentic» «brick oven» «charred crust», which don’t get me wrong is awesome, but sometimes I’m in the mood for things that I grew up eating. Even though what I grew up eating isn’t «authentic», I didn’t grow up in Sicily, and this is what I like. Roma Express is the most awesome pizza-by-the-slice place in Dallas. 2 slices of cheese, a extra side of marinara, and a soda will fill me up for most of the day!(The slices are your normal huge, thin crust pizza slice, so 1 slice will do the trick in most cases. I’m greedy.) The staff is so friendly, which means a lot to me. Grab a seat by the window, people watch, eat your slice and enjoy! P. S. You MUST order a extra side of marinara along with your slices, that’s what pushed my strong 3 rating to a 4! So good!

pizza is pizza – late night pizza is still late night pizza – thats kind of how I feel about this place — it was clean. open for business. adequate service. and nothing too spectacular… it works to soak up whatever cocktail you might have consumed across the street or in the vicinity, since it is downtown and next to a few nightclubs… I was with a group of 4 on a late weekday night — the place was empty — but we were starving… one of us did order the lasagna — and stated she wouldn’t get it again… pizza was decent. nothing too impressive — like the 2 stars quote says – ‘meh. I’ve experienced better…

So a year later and not wanting to leave the house on a Sunday ended my boycott of Roma’s. I had delivery yesterday and they were quick. The pizza is still great. They ramped up their Greek Salad too. It’s huge! It’s a pricey dinner for one person, but worth the convenience.

One of my favorite pizza places downtown… in walking distance and they will deliver slices(within walking distance). My favorite it the spinach/alfredo pizza and the cheesecake isn’t too bad either. They are open ’til 2 sometimes 3 on the weekends.

After a party I was so hungry so I decided to see what this place was about, and I’m glad I did. I started off ordering 1 supreme and 2 pepperoni slices to share with another person. The pepp slices were so wonderful and pleasant to me at 2am. The supreme pizza was not warmed enough in their oven, so we didn’t get to experience how good that could have been. Anywho, the pepp was so good that I had to have another slice, which we ordered, and devoured graciously. If I am ever hungry again on Main St. I now know just where to go!

Great service. Great food. My only complaint is the pepperoni calzone was a little short on pepperonis. The bread that comes with the pasta special is a nice size & very yummy. We enjoyed this place much better than an expensive place down the street.

Ended up here because Campisis was closed on Sunday, being a very recent newbie to Dallas we didn’t realize they would be closed. However… we really enjoyed Roma. The Sicilian pizza was good. not doughy and raw like some bad Sicilian style pizzas could be. This was a good pie. The regular thin crust was equally good. Service was quick and friendly. Being this is an older restaurant. no glitz and glamor just straight up good pizza.

Don’t be deceived by the look of the place, since it has not been updated for years. I have frequented this restaurant since the 1990 and one thing for sure about this place is that their food is always consistently good. Other places come and go, but this restaurant has somewhat become an important part of downtown Dallas, along with Neiman Marcus across the street. We usually come to get the pepperoni pizza, spinach pizza, stromboli, calzone, and salad. About everything there is good. Enjoy it!

Best calzone I’ve ever had. The owners are super nice. Makes you feel welcome. Very quick service. The pizza was decent but the calzone was amazing. Crispy crust. Perfectly melted cheese. Not too greasy. Great seasoning on sausage. Also comes with marinara sauce. I think homemade bc I’ve never tasted anythig like it. Nice and chunky. Taste fresh. Also their rolls are huge… mini pillows of carb overloading deliciousness. No reason to ever head downtown but the calzone alone is worth a tram ride.

Good pizza and a NY feel. Roma Express is reminiscent of walk-in pizza joint in NYC. Most of the pizza is pre-made, NY style pizza. As a downtown resident, I eat here pretty often. The pizza is good, but not exceptional. If you order by the pie, their prices are reasonable, but by the slice can be expensive. For two slices and a soda, I was set back approximately $ 10.50.

It’s hard to know if my experience was somehow improved by my low expectations, but it was just a random stop in a divey pizza joint necessitated by the pending start of a Mavericks game. The pizza looked like it had been sitting in the windows for several hours, which it probably had — almost looked plastic. Wow though… a quick 2 – 3 minute bake and wolla — it was delicious! My friend enjoyed his slice as well. The crust was probably not as chewy as I prefer, but it had a nice buttery crunch — the sauce was perfect also. $ 3.75 was pushing the maximum of what I would pay for a slice but it was good — maybe a candidate in the Best of Slice in Dallas?(Only by the slice I’ve had in Dallas)
