What a gem in the rough! The music was amazing, the crowd was friendly and I had a great time dancing the night away! Even though I was by myself since I’m visiting from LA, I didn’t feel out of place even one bit. The staff is super friendly as well. Highly recommended!

Fun fantastic night… this is a REAL grown folk club no kids allowed. What can I say about this little place. I like the fact that it is BYOB. There is a live band that has 3 section with 3 different singers. My fav is the 2nd singer who calls for the hens. They have a dance floor that can be really full. I like the fact that everyone is having fun and feeling the music. No judgement or standing around. You can also bring food as well. I seen many tables that had actual dinners. They do charge a cover fee of $ 10 but thats to keep the lights on. Right across the street from the fairpark as well.

I celebrated the my birthday at RL’s this weekend. I had a blast! The music and entire personality of the venue was fun and welcoming. It was pretty crowded and many patrons had to stand along the sides. The dance floor was consistently full and everyone was in the mood to jam along with the band. Be prepared: — The location is sketchy, which worried some of my guests(safety in numbers!), — Parking is across the street at a strip mall, — Cash only for entry as well as drinks(there is an ATM across the street) — Liquor is BYOB, but they sell beer and wine(Arbor Mist) — Age limit 25+(this is a fun but mature crowd) This environment is completely different than any other in Dallas, so if you are prepared to experience something funky and chill, you will have a great time!

This place is definitely a gem of a place. The live band is amazing and I witnessed to what seems to be a routine treat called the«Hen Dance» where ladies confident enough to individually take the stage all become the spotlight for about 30 seconds while the band plays the most funkiest-low down blues number of the night. Older mature crowd that’s all about fun. Definitely a staple of the Sunny Southside in the Triple D.

This place is about as close as you’ll get to an authentic juke joint experience in Dallas! Read more about it — and the Dallas Blues scene — here:

I can’t believe no one has written up this place. For blues fans it doesn’t get any better than this. It’s not pretty and is located near Fair Park, but don’t let that keep you away. This is, for all intensive purposes, a juke joint and all that that stands for. No nonsense, no frills, great blues. Prepare to dance because no one stays sitting down. They sell beer/wine and setups. Treat everyone with respect and you will have the best time ever!
