PIN is a boutique hair salon located in Inwood Village Shopping Center at the heart of Dallas, Texas. Inwood Village is a dynamic shopping center filled with top-​notch restaurants, clothing boutiques, nail salons, and the iconic Inwood Village Movie Theater. PIN is proud to be the première hair salon in this upscale cul-​de-​sac, where we serve a sophisticated, discerning clientele and sell high-​end hair care products. Our intimate team of hair-​professionals is creative, energetic, and highly trained. All of us here at PIN Salon pride ourselves on our ability to listen to each client’s needs, recognize their personal style, and craft a cutting-​edge hairstyle unique to them. Billy and Rainer S.

Business Owner

Billy and Rainer are down-​to-​earth hairdressers who craft out-​of-​this-​world hair.

Billy (colorist) and Rainer (stylist) were trained by José Eber, and since have become seasoned hair veterans in their own right. For 14 years, Billy and Rainer worked closely with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders for their color and styling needs. Not only did they officiate beauty looks for various photoshoots, but they were also featured on the hit CMT show, Making The Team: The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

While working with the DCC was certainly a fun gig filled with big personalities and even bigger hair, through the years Billy and Rainer were able to simultaneously maintain a strong clientele of Dallasites. Billy and Rainer established PIN Salon to treat these loyal clients to a beautiful, friendly, modern environment with excellent customer service.

Pin Salon is the absolutely best! The staff is wonderful & makes sure all the clients are greeted & taken care of the moment they walk through the door. I’ve been going to Billy for my color for over 12 years now. Rainer, the same. He’s absolutely the best at cutting hair. I feel like we’re family. :-)

Loved the feel of this salon when I came in. Everyone was very friendly and professional. I had Taylor for my color. She was very nice and gave me some advice on how to care for my hair and recommendations on how to make it healthier! First time clients even get a free product! (I got the root booster). Over all it was a wonderful calming experience but I think my search for that perfect salon is still ongoing. It was a little overpriced for a single process color that didn’t include a blow dry. ($ 95 to blow dry my own hair?) If I didn’t suck at blow drying my hair I guess it wouldn’t be a big deal but I wish that would have been included.

I spent time looking at reviews trying to find a decent place for a haircut. I decided to give Pin a try and I was blown away! Tan did such an amazing job that I have had compliment after compliment on my hair since I left the salon! I will be back for sure and I will be sure to book with the very talented Tan!

Don’t go to Pin Salon for color if you’re Asian. After two tries (with a toner correction in between, I have tiger striped multi colored orange hair). I’m sure it’s great for Caucasian hair. Just a warning to save your money and fly to Nyc or LA for someone trained in coloring Asian hair. So upset.

I am picky, and somewhat of a perfectionist. And yet PIN never disappoints. Billy is awesome, and I have been going 10 years. When I have been traveling and cheated on him, I always regretted it. He is fantastic, quick, and awesome to spend time with. The salon is cool and inviting but not at all «we are too good for you» vibe. Love Billy and love everyone I have tried at PIN for haircuts too. Love it.

Rainer is the best!!! I specifically went in search for him since he is the only person I would trust to cut off my long hair and give me a tight pixie look! He is amazing! Not only am I getting great compliments, but it was fast too! Taylor did a great job with my color as well, following the cut. So happy that I was able to find Rainer again and don’t plan on losing him anymore.

Pin is not one of those snooty salons with blasting music you can’t wait to get out of; it is one of the nicest and most inviting spaces I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. The atmosphere here really makes getting a haircut a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Make an appointment with Tabitha when you plan your visit. I have been getting my hair cut by her for years and she really gives me a perfect cut every time. I followed her to Pin from another salon that I liked but I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit. I can tell they went above and beyond when designing the salon and I know the stylists are a carefully curated group of experts.
All in all I think this is one of the best salon experiences in town.

Taylor for color!!! This girl knows her stuff, I wouldn’t go to anyone else. She has such a happy bubbly personality and is a genius with color corrections and blondes! Always on top of the latest styles and will always find what fits best for you. Amazing!
Side note, the salon is gorgeous, staff is super nice and helpful, I look forward to coming here every time :)

I love this salon!!! Rainer is the best stylist I’ve ever been to! I’ve been going to him for 14 years! When people ask me… «You drive all the way to Dallas from Ft Worth to get your hair done?»… Well I say, «of course ! He is awesome AND he does the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders hair?!!» Rainer’s wife Rachel is a FANTASTIC colorist and has many followers, including me. Billy is also a wonderfully talented colorist! The salon staff are very friendly and the salon is beautiful and inviting! Only the best products of Kerastase and Kevin Murphy sold here:)

I’ve been a client of Billy’s for years. I don’t even live in Dallas but am willing to make the commute to have my color done by him. There simply is no one better. He’s always timely, quick, and personable and never once have I left the salon without feeling like a million bucks. His new salon is very attractive, the shampoo chairs are so comfortable I could nap in them. There’s Pin Salon and then there’s the rest and Pin and Billy are, as Tina Turner would say, «Simply the Best»!

Cam Allison cuts my hair and does a great job! He’s very professional, willing to work past his work hours to fit you in. His prices are compatible to other stylist and you get far more then you pay for. I am always pleased with how my hair turns out, in most cases I let him choose how he wants to cut it.

BEST COLOR IN DALLAS!
If you are looking for someone to trust with your color, go here and book with Rachel. She has been doing my ombré and balayage for years and has never let me down.
The environment is warm and laid-​back, the service is more than excellent. The wash chairs make you feel like you are floating. They stock nothing but the best products as well.
And, if you want a great cut from a badass, sexy Brit, go see Emma.
I love the girls and the salon and would never go anywhere else!

I switched over to Pin Salon after my favorite stylist, Tabitha, moved here from Toni and Guy. The new salon is definitely a step up– it’s clean, it’s got great shampoo chairs and the price is more than fair.
If you go, ask for Tabitha. She’s been my hairdresser for 10 years and has been nothing but courteous, professional and a pleasure to work with.

This was my first trip to Billy and he was as awesome as I’ve heard. Even with color and lots of highlights, my hair feels soft and smooth with no damage at all. Billy is so nice and personable, it feels like you’ve known him forever.
PIN is a nice space and they have great shampoo chairs. Hope they do well in their new business venture. It’s worth the trip for sure.

Before relocating from San Francisco back to Dallas, I asked my stylist for a recommendation on who THE best for color and cuts in the DFW Metroplex might be. I didn’t expect them to know anyone, but hey, why not ask anyway? I was surprised when they said Rainer for cut and Billy for color and then gave me their telephone number. The two have been working their magic on my hair ever since.
At first because I was still doing a traditional corporate gig, I had a very short conservative haircut. When I wrapped that up I grew my hair to shoulder length. Rainer is nothing but confident when it comes to cutting all types and styles of hair. I required quite a bit of training to learn some tricks to long hair and he was the ideal teacher. He suggested several different looks for various occasions and then taught me how to make it happen… almost as good as he does.
Billy returns my white hair back to its «natural» color about every 6 weeks. I know most people think their color expert is the best. Honestly, when I look at some of their hair color results, it just confirms that Billy Irby actually IS the best hair color specialist in Dallas, Texas — period!
Now the two have ventured out and opened their own salon and this is it. The facility is easy to get to and ample parking is right out front. It’s a comfortable and clean open style place. All of that is nice, but I don’t go to salons because they’re pretty. I go to get my hair taken care of by people that know what they’re doing and then do it every time. I have no doubt that the team these two have put together at Pin Salon are top notch, too. You know, birds of a feather.
The negative about writing a good review for this place is that they’ll be even more busy and booking my appointment will become more challenging. Still, I love it when people have the courage to launch out on their own and chase their dreams. Way to go guys. Congratulations!
