Pilot Flooring

Is it just me … Is the tile world deliberately trying wreck me?
After going Big Box (Lowe’s) resulting in disaster, looked for an individual. They no show or dramatically underestimate my knowledge of what a job will cost. Then I went Lookin for a company… Tried a couple I heard on the radio. One that claims a maniacal commitment to customer happiness, it’s been a month since initial point of contact… Still no quote. As of this writing, my deadline for completion of that room is two days out. Not the tile portion, the room.
Anyway. I then called Pilot who boasts «Miles Above the Competition «
Well guy shows up early. as fate would have it I was home but I had another task I wanted to knock out before he arrived. But ok. Just don’t like it.
He was a personable fellow and did a measure and I told him exactly what I wanted. Gave him a sample of existing tile.“thanks, I’ll have a quote to you Monday, Tuesday at the latest. Today it’s a week and 2 days since the «at the latest» due date. So it goes and back to the drawing board (whatever a drawing board is)
I guess I’m old fashioned. When someone says they are going to do something, I kinda expect them to do just that or if they can’t, communicate that they cannot so I’m not just hangin out there.
Miles above the competition? Well, my Pilot Flooring never got off the ground.
