Palm Beach Tan

Not only a beautiful salon but amazing management. I have been to my fair share of tanning salons but the Palm Beach West Village location has to be one of my favorites. I walked in and was greeted shortly by the manager Celsee. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable on all of my questions about products and my account. I have read previous reviews on this salon and on the management and I must say that my experience was completely different from any negative experience. Celsee was professional, kind, and extremely relatable. I love coming into my new tanning salon because I know I will always be treated with respect. Thanks Celsee!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. They rip you off wherever possible: the price of memberships, freezing and unfreezing your account, spray tans, hidden fees everywhere, etc. It’s just another big chain tanning company with weak beds, rude staff, hidden fees, contracts and bs.
None of their pricing ever makes sense, no one can show you anything in writing, everyone’s just trying to make a few extra bucks of commission. And based off reviews of other locations, I’m not the only person who has been lied to and manipulated when paying $ 8 a month to have your account frozen.
I have cancelled my membership and will never give this company a dime of my money again.
If you’re thinking about going to this PB location, go to B-​Tan off Lemmon. It’s much better.

I started a membership up here a few weeks ago and I’m so happy with the results. I’m already super tan and I feel great. The general manager Celsee is super sweet and friendly and always makes me feel welcomed when I come in (which is almost everyday). This location is much cleaner then a few others I’ve used in the past and that is extremely important to me. My trip is next week and I’m ready to show off my awesome tan. Thanks Celsee and palm beach!

Kelsey Broadhead (store MANAGER) was so UNPROFESSIONAL. She argued with me about my account told me that her and her team never make mistakes (as it was supposed to have been frozen the month prior) and that when you freeze your account it always saves to a word document on their end, well guess what? That did not happen in my case. I spoke with corporate where this sweet girl named McKenna told me that «computers can be glitchy so its always good to get a copy.» Lesson well learned (get a copy). McKenna was kind and refunded me the amount that had been charged on my account, but my experience overall with the «Kelsey» was unforgettable (in a negative way). I understand people have bad days but this girl does not belong working at PB, let alone being in a managerial role-​that is just ridiculous.
Before this event happened Kelsey was always in a bad mood (it seemed) and was «short with customers (including me), prideful, rude, arrogant, quick to speak, and acted as if she did not care about her work. I just ignored it and «delt with it» as this was my place to tan. Well i am going in today or tomorrow to cancel my membership.
****Note to upper management/​owners: FIRE KELSEY. Some people do not belong working retail or in the customer service industries period. This girl has a lot of learning to do.

Horrible experience with staff. I’m in customer service and try to give people benefit of the doubt. Absolutely unprofessional.

Just came to get a tan (in a time crunch). Although Unilocal and the front door says they open at 6AM during the week, it is 7:24AM and I am waiting outside looking in at locked doors and lights off. Extremely frustrating.

I wanted a nice glow before my wedding, so I decided to do a few months of tanning beforehand. This tanning studio was walking distance from my home, so I chose to ignore the reviews and visit anyway. Huge mistake. I quickly realized, after receiving horrible customer service from floor staff and management, that this relationship just would not work. I visited 3 – 5 times a week, and every single time, I was met with negative attitude and completely unprofessional behavior. During one visit, I even heard the manager mumble «bitch» after an unhappy customer walked away. I finished my month of commitment, canceled my membership, and took my business elsewhere. I’m giving them 2 stars because the booths were clean, and I was fine with the tan itself.

I want to give one star strictly reflecting customer service, but I’ll give another for the cleanliness. It was my first time visiting and as I walk in I notice nobody is at the front. No biggie, maybe he had to clean a bed or something. A couple minutes later a shorter brunette guy walks in and I explain how I just moved here and a friend sent me a free tan just to try the place. He was so rude as he told me «no, she has to be here on a Thursday with you.» This was not explained anywhere on the coupon OR online. Honestly as soon as he spoke to me in his aggressive tone I was ready to leave. He then went on to try and sell me the diamond membership. No thanks, it would be useless as I’m never going there again.

I have had a decent experience at most of the locations around Dallas, but not here. Yes, the parking is awful like everyone says, and yes the place is clean, but it is the employees that suck. If you do get a nice employee consider yourself lucky, compared to the other locations, they all have attitudes. They always seem rushed and rude. The worst employee (and he is the manager I believe) that I experienced was when I went in to cancel my account. I got a gym close to my house that included tanning, so there was no point in paying for two places to tan, and all the locations were not close to me. When I didn’t want to buy a «final product» from them before I left, he told me to «have a nice life», and sarcasticly waived bye at me with two hands and rudely said he appreciated me. I mean seriously? I couldn’t believe how rude he was because I wanted to cancel. These people think they’re cool because they work at a tanning salon, they obviously can’t get over their high school lives.

Out of all the locations I’ve been to in Dallas, this establishment is by far the best. Cleanliness of the place is great and friendly staff. I don’t tan often but these beds gave me the color I wanted in a few trips.

Ive come here multiple times for a spray tan. I don’t use the UV beds, I prefer to avoid wrinkling! Their spray tans come out ok. You definitely come out reeking of the potent spray tan scent. Ive been other places where the scent is less noticeable and not as potent. The facility itself is always decently clean and the people working the counter have always been friendly. Its an ok place to stop in and get a quick spray tan but I prefer to only go here if Im short on time and cant drive to Mockingbird station to my regular place.

Hated every moment I received a free week coupon so I went to check it out! Too much confusion start up fee REALLY U WANT ME TO PAY U FOR ME COMING IN AND GIVING U BUSINESS BITCH PLEASE! I felt like I was forced to buy overpriced bronzers this place is a joke!!! Sales people tactics is uncanny! Money hungry bitches I hate this place

I rarely go to the tanning bed. Maybe once every 4 – 5 months. But when I do go, I dread going to this location, because their sales people are SHADY and relentless. No, I do not want to buy a $ 100 bottle of tanning oil. Yes, I know tanning oil enhances a tan, but I just told you I did not want to buy it. No, I do not want a stupid membership. NO, I REPEAT, I DO NOT WANT A MEMBERSHIP. I even caught one chick LYING to me– yes lying– about their prices in hopes of tricking me into thinking a membership was cheaper than buying 2 stupid visits. Too bad I caught her in the act and her co-​worker had to correct her statement and apologize to me after she walked off. Totally unacceptable. What a headache!

I actually just cancelled my membership with them, but not because they were bad or anything. I just decided I should stop working on getting skin cancer. I enjoyed going here though when I was a member. The beds are nice and new and they have all the good options. The only bad thing is the radio. It is hard to work, but I just listen to my phone anyways. They also have really good hours.

Wow, Unilocal has gone tan-​crazy! I’ve seen so many Palm Beach reviews lately, but none for the one in my hood.
Anyway, I’ve tanned on and off since high school. Go ahead, insert your lecture about skin cancer right here. I figured I’ve ridden show jumper horses for almost 15 years now and have career plans involving war and conflict, so I think I can take the risk, but that’s just me.
So, encouraged by my mom’s mantra of «tan fat looks better than white fat,» I returned to my tanning roots about a month ago and now am looking H-​O-​T once again. Not that I don’t always…
But I digress. Palm Beach is affordable, the place is always clean, friendly staff and this particular location has a kick-​ass variety of beds.
