O’reilly Auto Parts

Being a woman I often feel out of place in a car parts store. I suppose much like a man feels in Victoria Secret, only I don’t have any attraction what so ever to car accessories or their use, unlike a man inside a VS!
Just stopped in to get some oil and because I was dressed up on my way to a holiday event I asked if the guy could put the oil in my car. Very nice, he wouldn’t even let me lift the hood although he fumbled with it to get it open. Unlike buying the needs for my car at other stores, O’reilly’s and other specialized auto stores will install your windshield wipers and other minor items. I really appreciate that!

Like all O’Reilly stores. Had what I needed. Auto part stores get smaller and carry less inventory every year which makes my 45 yo car challenging.

Purchased a entire set of rotors, calipers, and brake shoes from the West 15^th street location in Plano, Was working on the vehicle at a friends shop in Richardson and realized they gave me a duplicate caliber for the passenger side and not one for the driver. This was the first issue with OReilly’s. I located one at the Garland store so i had to drive 20 mins to go get that first. The exchange was seamless and received a part that although was suppose to be new looked like it obviously had been installed a few times and the hardware in it was already in a ripped open bag. That was the second issue with Oreilly’s. I overlooked all of this and still was able to get the job done. However, I went to this location to return my odd calipers and get my core charge back. I have never been treated more rudely in my life. I had the original receipt and the exchange receipt, however I guess one was missing. The manager that wasn’t the one assisting me stated and I quote in very unprofessional and rude manner «don’t you ever keep your receipt? I mean that’s why they give them to you! «basically jabbing at me in rude manner in front of an entire store of customers and his staff. Mind you i had already gone through all this trouble and they enter your transaction history in the system each time you purchase based on your phone number. Oreilly’s if this is level of professionalism you promote I will suggest anyone to go to other parts stores in a minute. A very awkward and frustrating experience for something that should of been and could of been very simple with a little common courtesy. I also gave them one caliper that literally had nothing wrong with it. That’s instant profit for them after they recondition and sell it ! I’ll never go back to this location again.

Can’t drive past or go into this place without their song…“oh oh oh, o,’ reilly auto parts” song playing in my head, but who can criticize a company for branding like that… lol
Seriously though, these are some good and helpful folks. I am one of those shade tree mechanics that does not always know the name of the part I am looking for, and these folks are always able to send me home with the right part.

Called to ask about battery and if I bought it would they install it. Basically I was told «depends on the car and if we’re busy.» Called a competitor and got a positive «unless it’s in a weird location we can’t, but normal location, sure!» I’m going to the competitor who said Sure!

I had a great experience here a few days ago. I was greeted at the door immediately, and despite there being a pretty big crowd of customers, the knowledgeable (and bilingual) staff were able to identify and find the parts I needed quickly, throwing in some insider advice and tips to boot. I was on my way out the door in no time with exactly what I needed and some extra knowledge on top, you can’t beat that.
I would seriously go out of my way to hit this location again next time I need auto parts or accessories, and would recommend them to my friends without hesitation.
