Visited this lovely location for a business lunch. We didn’t have reservations but was able to grab a nice table upon walk in. I had the rotisserie chicken Cobb salad and it was amazing. So fresh and yummy. My friend had a wedge and he loved it. He claims it’s the best in Dallas. WOW!
I would love to go back and dine for dinner. The service was super fab.

Wow or Not so wow all these great reviews I beg to differ I had scallops gritty, poorly cooked Brussels, sprouts, But excellent other dishes that my colleague had, I hope it was a fluke but couldnt wait to get home cause my stomach starting giving me a fit, But what really bother me is the lack of professional protocol of a hostess named Stephanie (useless)we had request When I made reservations we had a birthday on our party and not to be placed near the Kitchen we arrived 15min early and waited cordially, then to our surprise people
Who had arrived late 30 mins were seated prior to us, then she proceed to other seat other late arrivals people who weren’t there on time… where is the professional courtesy to those who are punctual! When question she was a bitch. She ignored our request and sat us by noisy kitchen and over baring music couldn’t enjoy any conversation. .it Sucked the evening ruined. .THANK YOU, THANK NOT I will say this the Waiter was great and if he had been informed of the Birthday by the lackadaisical Hostess with a bad attitude and useless demeanor (Stephanie) I would spent more money with my party, in stead we left for a better treatment, I hope one day this bitch gets a horrible birthday back in her lap I recommend Trulucks

Really good food and great selection of whiskeys! I sat up at the bar and ordered the Kung pao shrimp to start followed by the schnitzel. I would highly recommend you try those. They were tasty!

Long wait even with reservations. Food is OK but certainly not worth the wait. Hostess was very rude and set the tone for a poor evening.

The food at Neighborhood Services isn’t the most inventive or exciting, but it’s good and solid. On my recent visit, my friends and I began the evening with the spicy tuna tartare, which was served with a side of potato chips. The tuna wasn’t that spicy, and some of the potato chips seemed a bit overcooked/​overfried. But it was still a pretty good appetizer.
For my entrée, I had the caramelized scallops, which were served with Spanish chorizo and manchego polenta. The scallops were meaty and cooked just right (not overcooked, not undercooked). The distinct flavors of the chorizo and the manchego polenta complemented the scallops very well. I would definitely recommend this dish for scallop lovers. As a side, our table shared the brussel sprouts. It was well seasoned and very good. A painless way to meet your vegetable-​intake goals. :)
Our dessert was the Pot de Crème, which can probably best be described as a butterscotch pudding. I didn’t think much of it; it just tasted like flavored pudding that I’ve had a hundred times as a child. It was good, but I probably wouldn’t order it again.
Finally, the non-​food details: the interior has a cozy, Texas feel and is pretty laid back. You won’t stick out whether you’re a bit dressed up or dressed casually. The service is impeccable. Our server was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very attentive. Neighborhood Services is a good, solid establishment overall.

Delicious! Tuna tartare was a little spicy and delectable, would eat it without the yummy chips it came with to get the true flavor of the tuna and not the chip. Lobster was buttery and had great flavors. London broil steak was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The dessert was just the right amount of sweetness, too!

Nice family friendly restaurant. Cocktail and dinner menu offer plenty of choices but not necessarily a date night kinda place. Tries to come across as upscale (they even check your coats) but looks like a nice pub on the inside. Never been to a pub that checks coats. Food was pretty good. I’d recommend for a nice dinner with family or a group of friends.

It was difficult to find this place… the sign isn’t obvious from the street. The host/​hostess work had an overly formal manner… almost cold… I found it a little pretentious. But our server more than made up for it. He was down to earth and had a very genuine manner.
My two friends and I all tried various seafood entrees. Everything was well prepared with good flavors. I had the scallops… I’m a big fan of polenta. I loved it. One friend is from Boston, the other is from L.A., and I lived in L.A. and the SF Bay Area for 11 years, so we all know good food. Neighborhood Services is a restaurant I was hoping for when I first moved to Dallas.
The butterscotch custard for dessert was a great way to end the meal.
Some other friends of mine didn’t have such a good experience at the Addison location. Maybe the preparation isn’t as consistent.

This was a fantastic place. I would look forward to coming back to Dallas just to come here. We got the fried asparagus and the ceviche to start, both of which were tasty and light. Steak is obviously the center of the entrees menu, and we saw some good ones around, but everyone in my group got seafood. This was a good choice. The scallops were so good I brought another order home.
Not cheap, but the food is great and the ambiance matches.

I came here tonight with my husband after reading about this spot in D Magazine. Neighborhood Services was listed as the number four best place to get a burger in Dallas. We were hooked.
Deciding at the last minute to grab dinner, I called 45 minutes in advance, hoping to snag a reservation for two. Lucky for us, Neighborhood Services accommodated us.
When we arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation, we were seated right away by a friendly hostess. Our waitress, Hannah, approaches us and shared with us about the restaurant. We explained that we were here on a burger tour and came specifically for their burger. She raved about our choice and offered to swap out one of our sides of fries for the macaroni and cheese.
Our burgers were perfectly cooked with a thick slab of bacon, caramelized onions, and bread and butter pickles. The burger was seasoned perfectly and stood out, even among the condiments and garnishes.
The fries were hand cut and delicious. The Mac&Cheese was cheesy and gooey. Just the way you would want it.
Our burgers were priced at $ 19 a piece, which is a little high. But well worth it. At this price we won’t be here often, but glad we could indulge ;)

Meh. Food was pretty good but holy shit it was expensive for tiny portion sizes. Trendy place that «30K millionaires» go to spend money just for the sake of spending money. Go here if you care more about the atmosphere and the ambiance than actually getting something of substance in return for your dollars.
Next time I’ll go somewhere I don’t have to spend $ 100 for 2 dinners simply to pad the owners’ pockets.

Jesus, Joseph, Mary and the camel!
One of my dearest friends brought me here for my birthday dinner– and man did he do a great job! I’ve been back multiple times and it only improves with each visit. I was worried I would not be dressed appropriately– but this place is super laid back but still classy.
The service was impeccable– we were presented with the daily specials and given vivid descriptions of the plates. I told our server about my food allergy and he steered me away from any plates that had those little devils in them– cause who wants to die on their birthday?
We had the fried asparagus to start– wow. Whatever sauce they drizzle on it really brought out the flavor in the asparagus– It had beautiful citrus notes. We were actually in a stare down when we realized there was an uneven number and one lonely spear was on the plate. Being the lady I am, I suggested we arm wrestle for it– it was sweet victory! We both opted for the daily specials– Grilled swordfish on top of cheesy grits and the chicken fried prime rib with mashed potatoes and jalapeño gravy. They were both equally good– but I kept stealing his grits and he kept sneaking my potatoes.
We shared the house made Ding Dong– it was very chocolaty, but stunning non the less. I really could not imaging a more perfect dinner. I decree it will be my birthday spot hence forth!

I wish I could give them more stars… This was my first time there and I was blown away. It’s great to see a place that believes in great hospitality.
I made a 830pm reservation and I was seated right away at that time. However, I got there a few minutes early to enjoy the bar. The bartender Liz was so nice and knowledgeable. Because of Liz, I tried something new to drink and it was incredible.
When we got to our table we were greeted with a big smile by Hana. She made some great recommendations and assured us, she would not allow us to get too much. I assured her, I will order too much and I’m happy to do so… «I want to try everything!!!» I’m like a fat kid with a good allowance.
We started with the green chili crab dip and meatballs… OMG!!! Amazing!!!
Next, I received the Delmonico Steak and Mac n Cheese… Now, in Texas we all know we can cook a steak better than going out… However, this place is probably one of the best steaks I’ve EVER had… Yes, the aged Delmonico can hold its own against the Kobe steak… Great price for the value!!! Also, the Mac n Cheese is done right!!! It’s ALL about the cheese…
Kudos to the manager Doug, chefs and staff for making this my new Favorite place… Life is too short to only go here for birthdays or anniversary’s.

I was fortunate enough for a local business colleague to recommend Neighborhood Services for dinner during a recent trip. Really loved this place.
First of all, it’s the right size restaurant — doesn’t have a voluminous feel but is also not laid out in such a way that all the tables are on top of each other. Very friendly and attentive service from greeting through dessert.
Food choices generally reflect a current flare on traditional foods — somewhat akin to a high end steak house, but with more variety. You pick a main course, salary and sides all separately. Good wine list as well as whiskies. I had a mainstay dish, fish and chips, along with a blue cheese wedge salad with a side of broccoli rabe. All delicious. The side of brussell sprouts was also very good. We did receive a bottle of wine that we though tasted off — waiter immediately replaced it.
Just an all around good experience and priced very reasonably for the quality of the food and service. If I were local, I’d definitely be back.

This is a fun, intimate restaurant with great food. When NHS opened several years ago, it was «the» hottest restaurant in town. Since then, it has continued to solidify a reputation as one of the best places in all of Dallas.
Reservations are a must. You will probably wait for 10 – 20 minutes, even if you have a reservation. But the bar area is really nice and they have a great selection of draft beer, a creative cocktail list, and an impressive wine list. My wife had the «Pop» martini that comes with a jar of pickled vegetables.
For appetizers, we always go with the Butcher’s Meatballs ($ 10). There are 6 – 8 meatballs in a great sauce.
I had the London Broil Steak Frittes ($ 27) and it was phenomenal! I would highly recommend this meal and the meat was cooked to perfection with a great seasoning.
This place also makes a great burger ($ 14) that is made from some prime cuts of meat.

I’ve been to Neighborhood Services a few times now, mostly for happy hours, but I finally got around to sampling some of the very highly rated cuisine. While it was okay, it fell a bit below my expectations especially considering the price.
Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere?
While it’s not large by any means, Neighborhood Services has a quaint and classy atmosphere that’s suitable both for a work gathering or just a quick drink at the bar. The servers are professional and knowledgeable, and the food comes out quickly. Star Granted.
Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?
It was here that the first red flag cropped up. Yes, I’m well aware that Neighborhood Services falls within the upper tier of Dallas dining, but even so, I was expecting a sizeable portion when I noted that my London Broil Steak Frites topped out at $ 27. That’s pricey. I didn’t take a picture, but this was certainly not what I would consider a $ 27 dish, even though the ingredients and presentation were above what you’d find at a fast casual spot.
The London Broil itself was maybe 5 oz. or so, and it was accompanied by a mountain of fries and some peppercorn sauce. Good, but not worth $ 27. No Star Granted.
Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?
The London Broil itself had great flavor and was cooked to perfection (I ordered it medium), but that very positive aspect of the dish was offset by what were some very mediocre fries. While I’m sure they were freshly cut and crafted, they weren’t especially crisp, and the flavor wasn’t anything above and beyond what you could grab at nearby Hopdoddy, etc. The homemade voodoo peppercorn sauce was good and brought the dish together, but it wasn’t worth writing home about. Single Star Granted.
Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?
I feel as though a two-​star review for Neighborhood Services is blasphemous in Dallas, and it’s to the point where I feel the need to go back and give another dish a try. I’ll do that, but in the meantime, I’ve simply had better dishes at very comparable restaurants in the city (Abacus, Hibiscus, etc.), and that’s the definition of a two-​star review. No Star Granted.

–Meatballs — Delicious. Made with brisket and blue cheese.
–Ceviche — Standard
–Delmonico Steak — Excellent. Well cooked. The accompaniments of an arugula salad with a $ 52 steak is a bit disappointing however.
Overall, the meal was quite good. Everything was well-​prepared standard american fare. Nothing was overly creative/​inventive.
Service: Excellent. Attentive. Menu explained thoroughly.
Would I come here again? Perhaps. I would categorize NS as place that you KNOW you would have an excellent dining experience at.
Recommended? Yes. Nothing fancy, but you will get a solid meal with solid service.

OK, this place is deliciousness defined. I have recently started eating fish after being a vegetarian for 22 years (somewhat bittersweet, but my Dr. told me I have to), so I decided to order the scallops. OMG!!! They were so buttery and yummy! Served in a pan sauce over some grits, they were HEAVEN on earth. Is this what I’ve been missing out on for 2 decades?
My friend and I ordered brambleberry smash cocokatils and I ordered a beauty school dropout (my favorite of the 2). Both were complex and delicious, I just prefer prosecco over bourbon.
We ordered the melted burrata (and an extra order of bread) as an appetizer and we split the butterscotch pot de crème for dessert. If I thought I could’ve licked my plate and not been caught, I would’ve!
We had an awesome waitress, Ellen, who was attentive and knowledgable (and not obnoxious). I want to go eat here every week!

This place is well hidden. It’s next to a rug store and the restaurant has a valet station that a trained eye may spot. The only sign for Neighborhood Services is on the door.
When you go in, prepare for your pupils to dilate like crazy because it’s dark as a cave in there. Some older patrons had their phones out to use as flashlights. But don’t worry, just order one of their really strong drinks and you’ll forget about the lighting.
For apps we got the meatballs and crab dip. Best meatballs ever. They fall apart in your mouth and have a nice crunch on the outside. The sauce it comes with is to die for. The crab dip was delicious but I didn’t care for the salsa that came with it. I got the angry lobster and grits. So freaking good. It was just the right amount of spicy and enough food to make me full after those two apps. Dessert was a butter scotch crème brûlée dish and ding dong cupcake. I think the crème brûlée might have been crème brûlée flavored or something because the top wasn’t caramelized. It was more like butter scotch fudge but I liked it. The ding dong would be good for those who like chocolate and raspberry. I was pretty full at this point.
As for pricing, I’ll let you decide. $ 220 ish for 4 drinks, 2 apps, 4 dishes, 2 desserts.
I really liked this restaurant and will be returning. I can see why it’s rated highly in Dallas.
