The ONLY reason i ever shopped at this seedy store was because sadly I used to live in a very bad part of oakcliff. It’s bad enough that I had to look over my shoulder on the way there [if I decided to walk at night — BADIDEA] but when I got there I had to deal with unfriendly people. HELLO… im a customer… if I ask you a question do not say«I dont know, man.» How am I supposed to know if you have instant coffee? did I stock your shelves!!! Worse yet, I never got a smile or thank you. I just got my change. To be fair the people who work there have to deal with crack heads, dealers, and utterly seedy and bad people to be around, so they may have been hardened over the years. I had never seen a store clerk get into a shouting and cursing match with a customer like it was a bar brawl. scary. Everything is overpriced… thats a given, nothing is guaranteed… and I would get accodted for money ALLTHETIME… so much so that I had to bring my mp3 — pretending to be listening to music just so I didnt have to stop when the vagrant crackheads would say«eh…man…help a brotha out with 50’s cents» worse yet is that they sometimes followed me a few steps… even worse is some of them actually HITONME, and asked if I «lived alone»…ewww…I didnt even feel safe for a man, so I feel sorry for any woman who lived/lives in that area who has to go to that store. Im so glad I live in the Lakewood-ish area of Dallas now. Amen!
