History

Established in 1973.

Our family owned and operated diamond business started as a wholesale diamond dealer. After supplying wholesale loose diamonds to jewelry retail stores all through the United States, we opened our doors to the public in the Dallas metroplex for truly jaw dropping diamond prices.

In 2009 we expanded into selling stunning wedding jewelry as well as custom fine jewelry that includes: wedding rings, engagement rings, wedding sets, men’s wedding bands, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, cufflinks, and anything else you can think or dream of — we can make it all .

What makes us true diamond wholesalers is our ability to manufacture and export diamonds from our diamond factory in Israel, where we have our privately owned business IDI, which specializes in cutting diamonds and exporting them. We do not deal with blood diamonds, as we do not condone unethical practices.

Amos I. established IDC in 1973 as a family owned and operated wholesale distributor in Dallas, TX. IDC quickly expanded and grew into one of the leading diamond wholesalers in the US with many branches located across the nation.

Amos I. is also the president and owner of IDI, which is located in Israel and is our source for true wholesale diamonds without brokering through other companies. In 2009, Amos decided to open the doors to the public and sell retail at the same jaw dropping wholesale prices.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Motek Diamonds/​IDC. I came to Dallas on a business trip and used the opportunity to look for an engagement ring for my girlfriend (now fiancée). I knew she wanted something particular, so I knew I had to make her happy.
Motek Diamonds came highly recommended by a family friend.
They welcomed me into their office, and gave me the most personal and educational experience.
Oded gave me all the tools I needed in order to pick the perfect diamond from the selection they had ready for me when I arrived.
I enjoyed being in a relaxed environment without the old salesmen tactics and the pressure to make a decision.
They helped me create a much nicer ring based on the design my girlfriend wanted. The rest was really easy; they sent me a 3D rendering of the ring which looked perfect. I got my ring about 2 weeks later and it looked stunning. Especially with the diamond I picked :)

Motek Diamond was the perfect place to go for our engagement ring.
Most places we went to previous were giving us way to much attention (following you around the store) or not enough (just showing us the ring and not explaining anything about it).
Motek was able to give a personal experience and offer outstanding quality. You can only go by appointment, which was a plus for us. They were able to offer sound advice for cut versus clarity and all the other things you need to know about buying a diamond.
I got a beautiful ring that looks so much more expensive than what we really paid which is the goal!
Headed back there for both of our bands.

I wish I had found Motek sooner! Their service level is extraordinary — Mr. Davidoff took a lot of time to explain things and work with me, and their turnaround time on repair and appraisal was much faster than I expected. Came here in search of a engagement ring for my beautiful lady. I had the pleasure of meeting with Oded who took a lot of time assisting me in finding the perfect diamond. Not only did I find exactly what I wanted, I was offered a very good price on top of that.
The next step came in finding the ring itself for the diamond. When we spent countless hours searching databases of rings, we both realized what I was looking for just wasn’t available. Oded then took it upon himself to create a custom band for me. The band was PERFECT and the ring was exactly what I had been hoping for.

The owner is very particular and has his own way of doing things. If you want the jewelry store approach this is not for you.
If you want to be educated and shown how to choose a great diamond that you can afford; This is the guy.
I told him how much I hoped to spend; he showed me a better diamond for less money than any I had seen anywhere else.

To me they are great, they have quality diamonds without the overpriced price tag from the retail stores. Me and my husband found this place 4 years ago and happily to say we been back many times just picked out a piece for mom that she will love! Def. a place to check out, service is always great and the staff is very friendly and even funny, overall is a great experience and taught us a lot since we are no diamond experts they showed us all the differences that I feel like now I am! I traveled to Texas to attend my favorite niece’s college graduation and realized I needed a special gift. My brother suggested a tennis bracelet, so after a Google search, I was led to Motek.
Made an appointment, blindly walked in with no clue of what I was doing, and felt fantastic when I left! There was no sales pressure, empty pitches or a rush to make a decision on my purchase. I was educated, directed and steered down the path I wanted. Absolutely zero pressure to «spend more» or «get bigger.»

I picked up my custom engagement ring & matching wedding ring last week and gave it to my fiancée. The look on her face when she saw the ring was priceless. She said that it was much more beautiful than she could have ever imagined.
I spent over 3 hours with Rick looking at loose diamonds, and he was very patient and helpful. Originally, I was looking at purchasing a princess cut, but Rick pulled out a beautiful 1 ct cushion cut, and I knew that was the one. They have an extensive selection of loose diamonds. I gave Oded a couple of photos of the designer halo design that I wanted in addition to a change to include diamonds on the side of the halo setting. Within 2 weeks, I had a beautiful custom ring that everyone is raving about and the fiancée can’t stop looking at. Oded and Rick were a pleasure to work with, and I am very pleased with the service, the rings, and the cost. I would definitely buy from Motek again and will recommend to others.

If you’re looking to get a diamond engagement ring, Motek will save you a ton of money.
While looking around, I stumbled upon Motek’s website and information. At first I admit I thought it seemed a bit sketch, but I made an appointment (important: no walk-​ins, only meeting by appointment) and met with the guys at Motek. Basically, they are wholesalers, and I mean real wholesalers. They supply many of those «wholesalers» you’d find in the WTC.
Basically, this is how it works. You set up an appointment to meet with them one-​on-​one, you walk in, talk a little about what you’re looking for, and they bring out some loose diamonds for you to take a look at. They give you pointers and help you understand what you’re looking for and what you’re buying and why you’re buying what you’re looking for. One thing that really put me at ease was that there was absolutely no pressure to spend more on a diamond. Actually, I was discouraged from spending more just because I found a diamond under my budget. He said, «Why spend more? You found a great diamond that you like under your budget, save that money, spend it on the engagement dinner!» Seriously, that is rare candor and honesty, which I really appreciated. However, please note that at first the guys might sound like slick sales guys, but really they’re trying to make it all a win-​win situation.
Motek also will get your diamond mounted in whatever ring and setting you like (literally, there are tons of options you can choose from, it took me a while to sort through it all).
Compared to retail stores that I had visited, I literally saved 40−50% on everything.
