Monty Buck, DDS

I really do like Dr. Monty Buck and Dr. Jones. Dr. Buck took out my wisdom teeth. I was really nervous about this procedure and he really helped calm me down. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to the dentist and for no specific reason. The dentists are great, but there is one dental hygienist who was awful with me. I told her about my anxiety and she was just rude and inconsiderate. I almost told her to forget it and that I’d just go somewhere else. I really like the dentist but I hope that the hygienist was just having a bad day. The other dental hygienist was so nice and sweet with me that I hope that I get the nicer one on my next visit.

The staff in the office are incredible. They are sweet, caring, and pretty attentive. The reason I’m rating one star is because of the quality of the dentristy, which lets face it, is the only reason why you would go to the dentist.
I visited Dr. Bucks office 3 separate times. I had cavities on both sides of my mouth so we split it into two visits. He is a very lovely fellow with a great bedside manner and is fairly gentle with the drill. While sitting in a beautiful, very clean and shiny exam room he novicaned everything so I didn’t feel too much but after the work I could feel that my bite was off. He went back and worked until it was «all good.» It seemed like he was paying close attention to detail.
A few days later when I finally got all the feeling back I noticed a large sharp point sticking from the filling into my cheek and called the office to schedule to have it fixed. Which they did, unfortunately they weren’t able to see me until several days after that.
Personally not impressed with having to wait to have them fix something that should not have happened in the first place had Dr. Buck taken the care that he should have in placing and fitting the fillings. He has awards and diplomas all over his office so I’m sure he has done many but I wouldn’t have been able to guess it. The dental tech working on the shard also had a hand at trying to adjust the bite because she could see that it was off. Even after it was «all good.»
Next week I’m back for fillings on the other side. This time in a not so new and shiny exam room, mouth still sore from the fillings (I was told up to a month of pain is normal). He prescribed something for the swelling and pain and said that it should help and it did to an extent. It took a while but he finally got my bite adjusted well enough after the fillings but here I am almost 3 months later with far more sensitivity than I’ve ever had and it still doesn’t feel right.
I’m fairly certain that this was the worst quality dentistry that I have ever experienced which breaks my heart to say because the staff are so lovely and fun to be around.
The office manager offered to have Dr. Buck «fix» my fillings but after the experience of having him improperly place the fillings that he attempted. The last thing I want to do is let him anywhere near my teeth again. If you choose to go here, good luck. I hope your experience is better than mine. I still can’t drink a glass of cold water without pain which is something I’ve never experienced before and it sucks.

Dr. Buck and his staff are very kind and accommodating. I have been going to him since 2007, and he has always led me on the correct path for my treatment. Recently, I had a tooth flare up and he was able to work me in first thing in the morning to perform an emergency root canal. Unless you have had a tooth the needed a root canal, you won’t understand what kind of pain it causes and the relief after the procedure is performed.

When I moved to Dallas I was looking for a great dentist and was referred to Dr. Monty Buck. I was absolutely happy with my choice, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Buck is very passionate about his work and is so kind. I would definitely recommend visiting Dr. Buck if you are looking for a very professional and family friendly dentist.
