I found the cubano cortado here and fell in love. It is absolutely my most favorite drink that exists.

Coffee is EXCELLENT and the staff is sooooo nice :) close to everything, great ambiance to study or work. Amazing patio with beans bags and plugs for your comupter. But the scones are not that good …

I dropped my wife off for an appointment, sat in my car and typed «coffee» into the Unilocal app. SO happy I came here! Anytime I can get a cup of great coffee at a neighborhood coffee shop that doesn’t end with «bucks» I’m ecstatic. The place did not disappoint. The industrial feel is great and the art gallery is awesome. I saw an outdoor area that has some comfy looking seating. I’m easy when it comes to my coffee, double (or more) shot of espresso with a nice dark roast drip in a big ceramic mug — enjoying it as I type this review. Free Wifi too.

What a supercool/​hip/​awesome place… and the espresso drinks are fantastic to boot! Wish they had a food menu, but they have a handful of pastries that so far are really good!
I love the open seating plan with a combination of church pews, tall tables with padded chairs (padded chairs always win me over when I’m going to be sitting for a few hours), couches, and low round and square tables. A handful of outlets are available as well.
Great great GREAT place to sit and study or work! And did I mention the drinks are delicious!!! Love this place!

Absolutely love the chill vibe of this place. After a day of traveling from Arlington to Euless to Dallas, I was so excited to finally catch this place up and running! The Barista was super super friendly and patient with my usual indecisiveness but her suggestion for a iced mocha was definitely a solid one! The drink was creamy and rich, with even a galaxy-​like image of chocolate stars and creamy caramel space. Lol may be the Mokah talking… But whatever it was, it’s delish! This place has a perfect and calm environment that’s often taken for granted, both adding to the enjoyment of my coffee and productiveness on my day off Can’t wait to come back and try everything else on their lovely chalkboard menu!

Quaint coffee shop with an art gallery attached. Today I had a hazelnut and vanilla latte. The barista is new and my coffee came out luke warm but he was able to warm it up for me with no hesitation. The sofas are old and very used which only brings extra charm to the place. Soft indie music played whilst I worked on my tablet.

An industrial coffee shop that’s part art gallery, performance venue, office space (For Life in Deep Ellum group) and well… Coffee house. And Mokah adds itself to the repertoire of one of Dallas’ religious-​based coffee houses too (alongside with Oak Lawn Coffee, Union Station, and some others).
It’s weird, the biggest door to this building is for the art gallery, but it’s actually a pretty small art gallery — there’s less than 10 art pieces to look at. At least the art pieces are of good quality.
The smaller door is for the coffee house, which compared to the gallery space with less than 10 pieces of art, feels quite large. And even more so when you factor in the large, covered outdoor patio (and if sitting on bean bags are your thing — although I don’t think drinking coffee while sitting on a bean bag is quite an easy or advisable thing to do).
And the performance space? It’s kept in the dark, with lights off, and it’s actually a separate room (the back room). And on the events calendar, there’s nothing planned in the proximate future as of today. So maybe it’s «off-​season,» if such a thing exists in a non-​tourist-​driven city like Dallas?
While there’s plenty bit of Deep Ellum funk, I was worried that it’s one of those cheap funk instead of the good funk. I’m leaning toward good funk even though there’s those abhorred booth-​style seating and low tattered sofas with no cushioning (you know what I’m talking about once you sit or «sink» into the seats). I don’t understand why funky people think these are cool, but the eight people inside at the time I visited are smarter than that — as they’re all sitting on the hardwood seating, even though the «cheap funk» furniture pieces take up half of the coffee house space.
As for snacks and other bites, there’s a really limited menu. Basically it’s only a few handful of pastries that they get from Empire Bakery. But even then, they were not fresh (I had asked, and they admitted that the pastries are a day old). And at $ 3 a pop, a day old croissant does not sound appealing at all. They should offer these at half price at the very least.
However, I can see how this place gets its love. It is a part of the nonprofit organization that works as a Deep Ellum booster group — so they’re Deep Ellum proud (even though Tweed Coffee isn’t roasted in Deep Ellum). The organization works in making this building a cultural center built for the artistic, social, and economic benefit of Deep Ellum.
Here’s the other pros:
+ Tweed coffee beans are actually pretty good, not so dark roasted
+ Outdoor seating
+ Free wi-​fi
+ Decent study space
+ Limited smoothie menu, some loose leaf tea options, and chai
+ One chess table (but you may need to bring the pieces)
+ Plenty of free parking
In the end, I do think this place can be much more — and maybe I came in the bad time. But at least the people are friendly here and space is not at a deficit. I could see why people would come back here if they’re in the area since most other coffee shops in the close proximity to this one are 1) closed earlier or 2) space-​constrained.

Funky spot on the south side of Deep Ellum, connected to an art gallery. Service is always very friendly and the environment is great for a few friends to spend some time chatting. I wish they had a bit more selection of baked goods, but the coffee largely makes up for that.

Mokah Coffee Bar is one of my favorite places to get coffee in Dallas. I always make it a priority to stop by this coffee shop if I’m visiting Dallas.
The quality here is top-​notch and there is plethora of indoor seating. There’s also a huge parking lot where parking is free. This is a huge pro considering I’m always having to either park on the street or pay for parking in Austin.
I normally get the vanilla latte, which is amazing! It’s hands down the best vanilla latte I’ve had in Dallas. It’s neither overwhelmingly strong nor sweet. It has the perfect balance.
I would highly recommend checking out Mokah Coffee Bar if you’re in Deep Ellum! You won’t regret it.

Took a while to find this while walking from Pecan Lodge, only because the main entrance is tucked away on the side of the building that faces a parking lot. (Btw, that parking lot is FREE!) The coffee shop connected to an art gallery, and the barista informed me that Mokah is affiliated with some church, which means it is a nonprofit coffee shop. (Wow, how rare is that?)
Upon stepping inside, the décor is simple and uncluttered, with eclectic décor, ranging from hanging Chinese lanterns to a chalkboard menu to a variety of seating and table options, both indoors and out. Yes, those are indeed giant beanbags you see on the patio!
The regular drip coffee changes each time, with the last time I visited being an Ethiopian roast. The London fog latte is delicious, made with Earl Grey tea and your choice of milk (75 cents extra for non-​cow), and a little bit of vanilla syrup. The baked goods variety is small but looks delicious. I would come back to just sit and read here or have a conversation with a friend, and I want to try their other drinks!

Artsy, fun, eclectic. Found this place while trying to kill some time. Good coffee and fun staff.
Wish the outside seating was available, but inside was cozy and the time went fast.

This coffee shop is a little ‘hidden’ treasure chest connected (inside) of Life in Deep Ellum (downtown Dallas) with it’s own entrance.
If you like coffee or a refreshing drink (non alcoholic), you’ll fall in love with this place.
The service is awesome, the coffee is amazing and the atmosphere is so peaceful.
Sometimes we have meetings at Mokah, just to get out of the office.
It’s a great place if you want to sit & sip OR sit, sip and study/read…this is the spot.
Oh, the art… sometimes you can catch and artist (visual and/​or performing).
Best part: PARKING IS FREE!!!

It took me forever to locate this shop. I’m glad I did not give up my search because as the saying goes…‘good things come to those who wait’. Actually, I’m embarrassed to say I’ve jogged/​walked right past it many times and without realizing it. Mokah is part of the ‘Life In Deep Ellum’ cultural center. While the cultural center takes up the most space (and is most visibile) Mokah does have its own entry from the outside. There is also access from the cultural center.
I’m thrilled to have found this shop as there’s nothing like a local coffee shop for chillaxin. They tend to have a calmer and more eccentric appeal to them. And Mokah is no different. The décor is unique in a cool and funky way. There lot’s of seating area available. The seating ranges from the typical table/​chairs to more big/​comfy chairs. There is even a church pew type seat available. On most of my visits it has been very quiet which makes for a good spot to chill and catch up on reading or studying.
As it says on their website, Mokah is passionate about two things: great coffee and people sharing what they love through music, art and conversation. And that passion comes through immediately upon entering the door. The barista’s are super cool. On my first visit I had lots of questions and comments about the place and the staff took time to listen to me and answer my questions. As I’m primarily a coffee drinker, I cannot comment on their espressos, lattes, etc. I will say they brew a nice cup of java.
The next time you’re in Deep Ellum I highly recommend checking out Mokah Coffee Bar. Note, they are closed on Saturdays and only open until 1pm on Sundays. Last and not least, Mokah Coffee Bar is a non-​profit coffee shop. So remember to tip your barista.

Cool place to relax with some friends or so. Has a little art gallery attached to it and some awesome seating. Very cozy and good. We ordered mint chocolate chip iced frappé with caffeine and it is amazing!

I come here to study with friends sometimes. The coffee and baristas are fantastic and I love the décor. It’s very eclectic with different colored couches, wood plank tables with non-​matching chairs, and they even have a chess table with oversized chairs. In the other area of the coffee shop, there are secluded tables where it’s much quieter and better suited for studying. Let’s just say there are many places to suit the niche you desire. I gave four-​stars because the hours are a little odd. I’ve come here on a couple of occasions to find that they are closed.

This place has really unique mocha drinks. I strongly recommend the smores mocha drink. The moment you sip it you’ll be transported back to camp roasting those yummy marshmallows and combining it with that delicious chocolate. The atmosphere of mokah is really unique and hipster. Sometimes they will have events such as bands, plays, or poetry but nowadays it’s kinda rare. They have a really neat art gallery right next door that’s free! Also life in deep ellum will host events occasionally in this building since they have a nice venue. I just love their drinks and they make me so happy!

After school one day, I wanted to go to a coffee shop to get some work done so I looked at places that were on the way home for me. I looked on Unilocal and came across Mokah, read «fast wifi» and «lots of parking», and immediately decided to go here. I have to say, after one visit, this really has got to be one of the best coffee shops in the Dallas area.
Being in Deep Ellum, you would think parking would be nearly impossible or that you would have to pay for some street parking, but nope, they have a very large parking area right in front. The coffee house is sort of split into 2 rooms. The room where you enter is where the coffee bar is and where you order. There’s also a large table to sit at. In the room next to it, the room is large and dimly lit with nice couches and tables around. Lots of room and very spacious which is one thing that bothers me about a lot of coffee shops. Music here is also on point. Temperature here is good because coffee shops for some reason are always freezing. Wifi is actually pretty fast. I ordered a mocha latte because I’m basic like that, but they offer a lot of variety of flavors that a lot of coffee shops don’t have if you’re interested in that. Honestly, there are no complaints about this place. Awesome coffee shop for chilling or getting work done!

Ok, I am in love with Mokah Coffee Bar.
First, there is free parking. Mokah and Life in Deep Ellum are located in the same building. So, as long as there is not an event going on at Life in Deep Ellum, Mokah customers can park right outside of the coffee bar. In Deep Ellum, free parking is almost unheard of!
Second, the coffee is to die for. I ordered the white chocolate mocha. Being a huge Starbucks fan, and ordering this drink weekly from them, I was surprised to find that I liked Mokah’s white mocha better! Who would have thought.
Third, the barista working was super friendly and down to Earth. We started talking about life and she explained that she used to work at Starbucks and then started working here. She liked Mokah better because they roast their coffee beans in Texas and she likes the vibe here. When I took my coffee into the other room, forgetting to pay, she laughed when I realized (fifteen minutes later). She said, «I was just waiting until you were ready.» You don’t get service and sweetness like this anywhere else.
Fourth, the décor is awesome. They have life music here and they have a variety of comfy couches and chairs to cozy up in. I would see myself drinking coffee (the white mocha, to be exact) all day and studying here.
This is a win, win all around. I will be back for sure. More than likely, with friends.

Dallas’ best baristas are found at Mokah. Velvety lattes. Perfectly pulled shots of espresso. Sit on church pews, cozy little table for two, or large farmhouse tables; alone or with a crew. Mellow music, not too loud.
Mokah’s prices are LOW compared to the quality of their drinks. $ 4/​large latte. $ 3.25/Cortafo.
Parking is FREE and there is plenty to be had.
