Mighty Movers

I used Mighty Movers to move a 1 bedroom condo from the 16^th floor of a highrise building (I had reserved a dedicated elevator) to a 3-​story townhome less than 1 mile away. Everything pre-​move went fine from making the reservation and with Mighty Movers providing the insurance information to my HOA.
I also agreed to pay an extra ~$ 50 for «priority» scheduling… guaranteeing that the movers show up between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. This was important for me because I could only reserve the elevator in my building until 5:00pm. Otherwise, their window was 1:00pm to 5:00pm. This was a risk I could not take.
Anyway, on the day of the move, 3:00pm came and went and I had not heard from the movers. When I called them at 3:00pm, they said they were finishing up a different move and we be at my place by 4:00pm latest. Well 4:00pm came and went… 5:00pm came and went… the movers didn’t show up until 6:00pm! All this time I had to argue with my HOA to keep the elevator reserved and allow the movers to show up at all. The point of paying for «priority» was to MAKE SURE THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME.
The move went OK… only one small vase broken and a few nicks and scratches on the wood furniture. I had all my boxes packed and taped. All they had to do was shrink wrap and move everything (the only large items I had were bed, mattress, box spring, TV, TV stand, couch, and bookshelf).
It wasn’t that much stuff but the movers didn’t finish until 11:00pm!!! 5 HOURS FOR A ONE BEDROOM MOVE!!! It certainly didn’t help that one of the movers forgot his belt and he kept having to pull up his pants. This may not seem like much, but at $ 100/​hour, him being slower because of his «wardrobe malfunction» was costing me $$$.
I called Mighty Movers office on Monday to complain. They ended up not charging me the «priority» fee, but they refused to compensate anything for the inconvenience of the move.
IN CONCLUSION: DECENT MOVERS, EXPENSIVE AND SLOW, UNRELIABLE SCHEDULING.

If I could give zero stars I freaking would. I called these guys on a monday needing to move into my apartment by Thursday. My rehearsal dinner was Friday and our wedding on Saturday, so I wanted to make sure we were all moved in before we got married. I didn’t even have that much stuff. We literally just wanted to hire someone to move our king bed/​box springs, night stand and TV stand. That’s. It. They said they could fit us in on Thursday morning.
What I got instead was a slew of problems and me not having movers. So I get an email the day of, saying they would arrive at the pickup location between 2 – 4 with a 30 minute courtesy call. Mind you I took off a day of work to meet up with these guys. So 3:55 rolls around and I haven’t heard from them, so I call up the office. They say they’re not sure what’s up and they’ll have the movers contact me. Great.
Movers call me about 5 minutes later. «We have one more job to go to and then we’ll come to you around 7pm. If we don’t make it out today, we’ll come by first thing tomorrow»
«No no. I’m sorry, I have three things for you to move and you said you’d be here at this time. If you can’t make it, I’ll have to cancel and move in after my wedding. 7pm I’ll be picking up wedding guests» Not cool dude. I took my day off. And excuse me, but not having a place to sleep on my wedding night is not an acceptable outcome.
«Alright let me talk to my manager and I’ll call you back.» At this point, the gentleman on the other side of the phone THINKS he hung up. He did not. and I heard every word. «This b**** won’t drop it. Not my fault our company is s*** and can’t schedule worth a d***. Haven’t even eaten all day. Let’s just move all her s*** as quickly as possible– I don’t even give a f*** if we bang up anything, let’s just get it done.» Uh yeahno. So I called up the corporate office FUMING.
«Under no circumstances do I want these men in my house, knowing where I live, or what items I own.» They apologies and tell me they’ll contact their other service crews to get someone out there asap. Great. So they call me back and say the only opening times they have is tomorrow at 5pm.- Tomorrow at 5pm during my wedding rehearsal. Not acceptable. You messed up, you work to my schedule. The next best they could do was the following sunday. I said thanks, but no thanks and I’d like to cancel.
Two days later (on my wedding day) I get a call from Mighty Movers letting me know they’ll be charging my card $ 75 for cancellation fee. EXCUSE ME WHAT! YOU run the scam show, not me. This was in no way my fault. You said you’d move me on thursday and now I have nowhere to sleep on my wedding night and have to move into my apartment AFTER my honeymoon. Absolutely not will I be paying a cancellation fee. I never heard from them again.
Such complete crap. Worst movers ever. Worst company ever. Completely ruined what otherwise would have been a 100% perfect wedding.

I used this company to move office furniture from one location to another. First they show up late, then they hit the top of the covered parking with their truck. When it was all said and done they tried to charge me extra for how long it took to put a u-​shaped desk together, which I informed them of when I made the appointment. Then they added wording to the contract after I signed it trying to state that I was not holding them responsible for the damage to the building. Totally crooked management, and will lie, lie, lie to get themselves out of trouble. When I reported it to the BBB the owner, who I never spoke with because he wouldn’t call me back, reported that I cussed him out and would not allow him to come view the damage. Total, complete, made up lie! They may work out great if nothing is damaged, but beware if they do damage anything, they won’t take responsibility.

So everyone knows that moving is a stressful situation and I was having a really hard time trying to figure out how I was going to get all my stuff to my new home on such short notice. I had called two different moving companies prior to calling Mighty Movers and they both just blew me off immediately once I told them I kind of had a dilemma. I called Mighty Movers and spoke with Ronnie the office manager. He was so friendly on the phone and made me feel like he actually cared about my situation and cared about helping me. They were already done making the schedule for the next day but went out of their way to make room for me. They showed up right on time, took great care of all my things and made life a lot easier for me. Mighty Movers ended up making what I thought would be a horrible moving experience a great one. And they did it all for an awesome price, although I would be willing to pay high dollar for the type of service I received. I will be recommending them to all my friends. Thanks Mighty Movers!

NO SHOW — I scheduled a furniture pick up and delivery and was given a three hour delivery window. After the window time expired and no one showed or called with an update, I called to check on status. I was told their prior job took longer than expected but that they were on their way. I called a second time after no one showed and no one answered the phone so I had to leave a message. No one ever returned my called or showed up.

I was in a situation where I was let down by other movers and I needed movers fast, within 24hrs. Mighty Movers was the first place I called and they were able to accommodate my time frame. Their cost was $ 150 per hour with a 2 hour minimum and a $ 150 fuel fee. So automatically, I was out $ 450. I was in a rut so I made a hasty decision and scheduled them. It’s a decision I came to regret the next day. The 3 movers were friendly and efficient but not quick by any means and I later found one palm sized section of damage on my leather couch. I also had an issue with my form of payment as I had a spending limit on my card I was not aware of. So as I scrambled to make it to the bank in rush hour traffic I had the office lady and the owner «standing next to her» threatening to charge more. The final cost was $ 968 for about 5 hours. The company seems okay, but because of the high cost I wouldn’t use them in the future. Also, one of the movers sequestered himself in my bathroom for about 40 minutes and I just thought that was kind of gross.

THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD AND A SCAM! The actual movers do a great job but they overcharge you for EVERYTHING! It cost me $ 900 for a move from Rockwall to storage. I called to ask if it was going to be that much to move from storage that is supposedly in Dallas to my new place in Dallas. I was assured by Ronnie that it would be about half the cost. WRONG. I was then charged $ 1100!!! To move my belongings from storage to my new place in Dallas. I was able to get them to lower it to $ 900 yet again after being spoken to EXTREMELY rudely and arguing, but on top of the outrageous prices, nearly allllll of my kitchen items are broken!!! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone except my worst enemy!!! I was told the manager would be calling me within 45 min at 12:30pm…it is 4 and I have yet to receive a phone call. Beware! DO NOT USE MIGHTY MOVERS!!!

Recently moved our house into a storage unit. From the first time we spoke on the phone through the end of the move day everything went as planned. The pricing was upfront and they had a few different options. The movers seemed to be experienced and did a great job of wrapping all of our valuable furniture with shrink wrap and pads. They showed up on time as planned.
The one thing that really impressed me is these guys came to work. There was not a bunch of hanging around. They worked hard for the whole time during this move. They also helped me rearrange the storage unit when we got there because I already had stuff in it. They made the space work!
I am so impressed that I have already decided to use them for our next move.

We recently moved with a U-​Haul from Michigan to Texas. The move was for work and the new company put us up in corporate housing and since we were pretty burned out on moving, when it came time to get our own place we decided to hire movers. I found these guys on the BBB page and, after calling a few different places, Marco was the first to get back to me and the most thorough. He was very clear about pricing, he was able to get me scheduled for a Saturday morning move at 5 days’ notice, and all the time estimates he gave me were right on.
He called me Friday evening to give me a 1-​hour window when the movers would arrive, and lo and behold, come Saturday morning between 8 and 9, they did! There were three guys and they got right to work. We had some stuff in our apartment but most of our belongings were in a storage unit, and they were fine with going to both places to load up the truck before heading to the new place.
When it came time to unload we showed them where all the entrances to the building were in relation to the elevators and they said it would be quicker to take the stairs closest to our apartment. The stairs? Over an elevator? I figured since we were paying by the hour they wouldn’t be concerned with speed, but they busted ass hauling everything up on foot. Also, of course, about halfway through unloading a torrential downpour was unleashed upon them and pretty soon the poor guys were soaked, but they kept going.
The whole move start to finish took about three hours and we were really impressed. There was nothing damaged and they were much quicker than we expected. Needless to say, we tipped, like, 40%. It seems impossible to find good movers but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these guys. We’ll call them back when it’s time to move again.

Great Moving Company! My husband and I had a one room moving job. We had everything boxed and ready. I spoke with Andrew to set everything up. He was so personable and friendly! They called when they said they would, and showed up when they said they would. The two movers were so nice! My husband made them coffee — and away they loaded. The unload went just as well. We will definitely be using them again! Andrews estimate of how long it would take was correct and so there were no surprises on the final price. Best Movers we have ever used — hands down!

If it were possible to give zero stars or less I would. These are just about the most amateur organization I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.
Where should I begin? Damaged furniture, which they tried to «repair» to hide the damage.
Damage to our Dryer.
Our Temperpedic mattress which has special moving requirements and which we were assured would be moved properly wasn’t. Not only wasn’t it moved properly but they didn’t cover it, instead they brought it in stained and covered in their sweat and grim and then tried to laugh it off.
When I complained I received a vague email about having to talk to a claims processor, then they said our apt was too far for them to come to view the damage and would I send photos — they are an hour away.
Overall I cannot emphasize strongly enough — AVOID this company.
Sure they are on Twitter and they reach out to everyone who mentions moving in the Dallas area but they are a bunch of cowboys who have no clue about how to move your belongings.
