This place deserves 6-stars!!! Culinary sophistication at its finest!!! The location is right off Inwood and Lovers Lane, super easy to find. The inside décor is a mix between retro and chic… it had a great vibe. RUN, don’t walk to this establishment. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. It was such a phenomenal experience that I don’t know where to even begin! The chips and trio salsa were so fresh and the flavors spot on. GETTHEROSAPISTOLA! You will not be sorry. The flavors will make your mouth very happy. The Catalina cocktail had raspberry and St Germaine and was so light it complimented everything we ordered. We really wanted to try the Cinco Leches… we were so stuffed but bellied up anyway! It didn’t disappoint! :p The service was attentive. You could tell the staff liked their job and their happiness made me feel good I bring there! Highly recommend this Dallas restaurant!

Love the chips a trio of salsa. Enchiladas were wonderful. This might be my new favorite. They definitely stand out from others.

Had the Chicken Tomatillo Soup and the«La China» fried rice. It was excellent. The assortment of salsas was really good as well. A bit pricy but really good overall.

Delayed flight at Dallas Love. Unilocaled this place. Food was fantastic. Accommodated my difficult vegan diet and I can’t wait to come back every time I fly out of Dallas. Excellent food, service, with that more distinct interior Mexican flair delivered in the Tex-Mex style.

Love the staff, love the food. Ask for the additional 2 salsas that do not come with the 3 and your chips.

I feel badly for not reviewing Mesero sooner than now. My husband and I have been coming here since they opened, and their food has ruined other Mexican food for us. Nothing in the area even compares to this place. Yes it’s trendy, and busy, but it’s busy for a good reason! Where else can I get my skinny frozen margarita and delicious queso in the same meal? No where. I have never been disappointed with any dish either I, or my husband, have ordered. The Range Chicken is my go to dish– chipotle grits, lemony chicken, arugula on top– this dish nails every flavor profile. And their Queso Mesero– this is queso, not velveeta and rotel with a sprinkle of cheddar. This queso is made with delicious, melty, Chihuahua cheese, spinach, and artichoke hearts. Queso connoisseurs, rejoice! I’m surprised at the merit of other reviews on here– please come here expecting Mexican food, not American. Also, please come here expecting a small wait on weekdays, and maybe a half hour wait on weekends. Whatever the wait is, I promise it is worth it!

I absolutely loved this place! To me, it wasn’t your typical run of the mill Tex-Mex/Mexican food. I’m not really a fan of big chain tex-mex restaurants, so I was excited to check this place out based on a friend’s recommendation. Our waiter was great and provided excellent service and recommendations. I personally also really liked the décor and design of the restaurant — very modern and upscale, but not stuffy. I like the small two-person booths that line the side of the restaurant. Food and drinks were delicious and fresh, some dishes had some different flavors than I have seen before. The only downside is that it seemed a really loud inside, more than the average restaurant. It was busy, almost weekend busy for a Thursday night. The kitchen is somewhat open to the restaurant so that could have contributed. I noticed they are opening another location in Addison, definitely looking forward to that one and hoping it is as great as this location. I highly recommend!

The service and overall vibe of the restaurant was excellent, but was not impressed with the food. The complimentary salsas provided at the beginning of the dinner was also very different compared to the other Tex-Mex restaurants in the uptown area. I really enjoyed the service and recommendations provided by the server. I was disappointed when I ordered the quesadillas which were average. The quesadillas were pretty boring and needed some pico de gallo to bring some life back into it. The quesadilla slice portion were also very big! Overall: I wouldnt recommend coming here unless Im in the area and was desperate for a trendy tex mex restaurant. I think this would be a very good place to host a birthday dinner but the food was average. I personally would prefer to dine at MiCo instead, but thats just ME!

Wow! Mesero in Inwood Village is amazing. I was pleasantly surprised. Totally love the décor and atmosphere of the restaurant. The contemporary look and feel is large, bright, and open. The level of service is something you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The staff and servers are excellent. They are very attentive and helpful without hovering over the table or contently interrupting. Wonderful service. The menu is bright and bold! Covering the Mexican classics, but in a modern way without losing those great aspects of Mexican cuisine. The colors and flavors of the dishes are delightfully fun and playful. The complementary house chips & salsa trio are vibrant and tasteful; Verde, Queso, and Rojo. The chips are warm and crispy. In several visits, I’ve enjoyed both the Rojo & Verde enchiladas and shrimp & beef brisket tacos. The shrimp were moist and not over cooked, while the brisket was tender & juicy. The green rice and slaw sides that come with the combination plates are flavorful sides, something a little different from the normal Mexican side dishes. Both are bright and bold like the rest of the menu. Mesero is something wonderfully different than the other Mexican cuisine in the area. Looking forward to my next visit.

Decent food. The wait staff is great. It feels like you can only get a table in a reasonable amount of time on a busy night if you bribe the hostess. Pretty much saw that go down with other guests. Go to the McKinney ave. location. Otherwise great food good margaritas.

Not one negative thing to say about this place. The restaurant, the staff, service, food, everything was superior. Will definitely come back.

White queso is the bomb. It is hard to find a restaurant that prepares this without having it taste like it came from a bottle. Nice décor as well.

Mesero — Inwood Village is an upscale, modern Mexican restaurant in Inwood Village. The restaurant is similar to Mr. Masero(same chef/owner) but the menu is different. If you’re looking for an upscale, Mexican alternative to the Tex-Mex chains, come here. My Overall Rating — 3 ½ Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Contemporary, upscale, and open to the outside on nice days, Masero at Inwood Village does a great job making you forget that it’s located in the Inwood Village strip mall. There’s a long table in the front that is open to the outdoor, and there is plenty of seating(booths/4 tops) within. The restaurant is clean, neatly decorated, and has a very upscale ambiance. 1 Star. Service — Our server was very nice and attentive, but an order of extra cheese never made it to our table, but they still charged us for it. I noticed it when reviewing my bill, and luckily I saw it and removed the charge. Other than never receiving the order & getting charged, the service was great. Just be sure you check your bill! ½ Star. Food — The restaurant is billed as a modern American and Mexican restaurant, but honestly I did not see any American menu items. That being said, the chips and salsa that they bring out to you are fantastic. You’ll get three to choose from(fresh salsa & Rosa for me please). We added an excellent white queso to continue with our dipping fest. Also — note the chips are served warm, and are thicker than your typical Tex-Mex chips. For my meal, I went with the Dos — which was two enchiladas in a chili and queso sauce. I love their beans & rice, but honestly the enchilada sauces drowned out other flavors in the enchilada. In other words, it was«overly sauced». Their skirt steak was much better, providing nice beef flavor that was surprisingly tender. 1 Star. Will I Return? — Probably. Masero is a great alternative to many Tex-Mex chains. It has a vibrant, upscale atmosphere. And while it bills itself as an American AND Mexican restaurant, make no mistake they do the Mexican part very well. If you’re looking for that upscale Mexican experience you’ll find it at Masero. 1 Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

I am of Mexican decent, so eating Mexican food at a Mexican restaurant isn’t always something that blows me away. However, my experience at this restaurant was incredible. The quality of service and food was exceptional. Props to the manager for treating us great. APPETIZERS: There is complimentary salsa and chips which are spectacular. They bring 3 different salsa/dips. MEAL: I had the Half chicken and vegetables, and of-course it was delicious. The portion is very generous, which made it even better. DESSERT: Tried the 5 Leches cake which was also not a let down. Your welcome to ask what the 5 leches are(5 milks), but apparently it’s a secret. Which it doesn’t matter. The cake was super good! So will I go back? You bet I will!

My first time coming here and it was not a disappointment. We waited maybe 15 min because we didn’t have a reservation but it was ok because the manager served us complementary dip with hot chilies when we got to our table. The waiter was very friendly and did a great job with our table. He constantly checked on us and refilled our chips and salsa. I ordered the Cuatro but substituted the green enchilada with a red one since I really wanted to try it based on the reviews… And it did not disappoint! The brisket taco was delicious! Very juicy! The green rice was really good as well. Then we had the Cinco Leches Cake which was great! I loved it! Overall I really enjoyed my first visit here and plan on coming back and recommending it to others.

Came to this place for the first time for a happy hour event and I have to say I was impressed. Reviewers were right about the fast service. As soon as we sat down we were immediately greeted and given our drink order. I got their La Dona margarita which was very strong and flavorful but was primarily rocks. For the table we shared the guacamole, queso, and salsa trio. The guacamole was fresh and really nicely served. The queso was okay definitely not as good as Torchys or other restaurants. Then the chips were a bit stale nothing special. For dinner I got the Tres combination plate which included a chicken enchilada, a shrimp taco, and rice. The tortilla on the taco was a bit hard but everything still tasted very fresh. The atmosphere was very nice, definitely a good place for dinner out. I didn’t try any of the desserts so I might come back just for that.

My husband and I went to Mesero on a Thursday night and the place was packed. Luckily, we were able to be seated right away. Our waiter was very friendly and fast. I had the Oaxaquenas enchiladas which are chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. They were great, but I would have liked a veggie with them instead of a scoop of rice. The service was fast, but almost too fast. We were in and out in under an hour so it didn’t feel like an evening out. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It’s very open and modern, but the openness makes it quite loud when it’s full of people.
