Marshall Motors

The team had a wonderful attitude and were very knowledgeable. After a 1,300 roadtrip my brakes began squeaking two days before I was to drive back to MD. They were the only place open and willing to take me last minute July 3. My rear brakes were replaced, the parts were $ 235 and labor was $ 530. My military discount earned me 10% off. After a discussion about the labor costs I was given another 5% off. I received my vehicle the same day. After driving my car for one day the brakes were not as sensitive as they used to be. I now have to press the brake nearly to the carpet to begin to slow down.

Great team, awesome service. Thom and January are great people and I’d trust them with any car I bring in. These people have been such a joy to work with :)

I am writing you to express my disappointment about how poorly Marshall Motors performed on my recent repair and how poorly I was treated during the process.
I had my Z4 towed to Marshall Motors on Thursday ¹⁰⁄₁₆ at noon. I called at the end of the day. They said they were looking /​researching the problem, but could not find the issue. I was assured it would be kept inside and safe. There was no mention that they were backed up with other repairs.
On Friday 10/​17, I called and talked with Mark at 2:00. I was told that it has being worked on and they have been researching, but still uncertainty about the issue. There was no report /​call after that. They had my car ALL weekend. No one informed me it would be there so long. No one told me, they were backed up so long. No warning was given to me that I would be without my car for so long.
On Monday 10/​20, I received a VM from January Marshall, that the diagnostic charge was $ 386, if I wanted to proceed. (This leads me to believe that no one was working on the car last Thursday and Friday, as I was told. This is a deceptive practice. Had I known they were backed up so long, I would have taken my car elsewhere.) I agreed to the fee because I needed my car back. However, I did express that I felt it was high, considering January told me they only had 1 hour of diagnostic time into the repair. (If this is true, why was my car sitting there for 3 business days — 5 days total — without any attention? Plus, no notification about how long this is going to take.) This is unacceptable.
On Tuesday 10/​21, January called with the total price estimate. To fix my initial issue, $ 126 in parts, plus the $ 376 diagnostic, Plus, another $ 1000+ for issues I was not there to have repaired. I felt they were taken advantage of me (because I am a woman?) I declined the extra work and paid for the repair I brought it in for.
After picking up my car, I took it to a different BMW repair shop. I was able to get the additional repairs done cheaper… less than half the cost than Marshall Motors, and in less than 1 day. I was also informed that the $ 376 diagnostic charge was excessive. In other words, I feel Marshall took advantage of me charging me too much.
To sum this up: Marshall Motors has blown my trust. They took advantage of me monetarily. They had my car WAY too long for the for a relatively easy repair. They failed to communicate how long it would take. There was a time when I voted for Marshall’s in D Magazines, 10 best. This is NO LONGER THE CASE!

Excellent service and good prices. They were very quick in replacing a self-​leveling headlight on my BMW that had the controlling arms destroyed by a gnarly pot hole. Sad to see multiple negative reviews from a single Groupon bottom feeder. A good example of why Groupon users are not «customers», but self-​centered opportunists. This is America and they have the right to refuse service to jerks.

After being in contact with the owner (who was very nice actually) I am still dealing with the dispute of the $ 162 for the rental. I truly believe this Vince is fully aware of the deceptive practice act and expects others not to be well versed. I am still extremely dissatisfied with the my experience and will not return. It is sad when one can not receive reputable service with integrity even when a business has been around for many years. Staff changes really make a difference I see. They have went on to say it was a delay in me authorizing the work. Want to know what the delay was? Vince changing the pricing and me being very specific about what I wanted to get done! I have never experienced such deception and double talk from a merchant. I will be seeking legal action. I am not the one. Thumbs down. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I had reviewed the following 2 years ago but somehow it got deleted. So here it is again…
Last week I saw a great deal for a full synthetic oil change plus 32 point inspection for less than an hour on Groupon. It was from Marshall Motors. I went ahead and made a purchase and called them up to make an appointment and the guy asked me if I had a coupon. I told him I purchased the deal from Groupon and this guy goes on and on about how it was a deeply discounted deal and that it could take up to 2.5 hours. I told him that their ad states that they would do it less than an hour and he and I argued back and forth for about 30 minutes and he said that he would get back to me on Monday.[today)
Come Monday I dont get a phone call all morning so I called them and some other guy answers and makes an appointment for me and tells me it would take about 30 to 45 minutes for an oll change plus 32 point inspection.(I didn’t tell him lt was a Groupon deal this time) Same day In the afternoon I finally get a call from the first guy and he tells me that Groupon made a mistake in stating less than an hour (Really? Then Groupon just came up with the less than an hour statement? I dont think so.) I told him i made an appolntment with another guy and this guy tells me there is no appointment (really?) and that he does not know who worked around lunch time and made an appointment for me which was merely few hours ago then he tells me to go ahead and get a refund from Groupon if I didnt like it and basically hung up the phone. I called up Groupon and explained the situation and they told me that they would not list any service detail not provided by the advertiser but gave me a full refund anyways.
I want all consumers to know that if these people lied about a small service like this to a new customer I wonder how much they Ile about other bigger services and rip off their customers.
You know how sometimes after a small experience like this with a business you get a
sense ol how the rest ol their business would be like? This was definitely one of those experiences! Over an hour wasted with a bad taste In my mouth! I would NEVER recommend Marshall Motors to ANYONE! STAY AWAY!

MArshall Motors provided great, professional, and friendly service for my Porsche at a very reasonable price. Working with January, Service Manager, was easy and they even delivered my car to me. One in a million!

They have always checked my vehicles from front to back and underneath the hood. They let me know what is needed now and in the future. Most dealerships are as crooked as a barrel of snakes and my experience with them has left a bad taste in my mouth. Marshall motors is the opposite, you get customer service that can’t be beat, they work quickly and efficiently, and they possess a personal touch that shows you that they really care about getting you back on the road as soon as possible. I am a long-​time client and have refered many people from my business who have in turn become long-​term clients as well.
I HIGHLY recommend this business to anyone that is looking for a mechanic they can trust that will put their mind at ease when they car is in trouble.

Frankly I cant think of any place or anyone I would rather take my cars to for service. January and all of her staff have always treated my cars with TLC and have been above reproach in their honesty and integrity.

I’ve been using them for about 10 years, 5 cars (Toyota, 2-​Honda, Volvo, and VW), and have not had any issues with them. They always provide honest answers and if there are issues with your car, they provide you with a road map of the problem areas and when they should be serviced. They give you honest feedback on what things could wait. They also explain the potential consequences of waiting so that you can make an educated decision on when to service your car. I’ve always felt I was fairly treated and the service was always done correctly. I would not use anyone else.

I can’t say enough great things about Marshall Motors. My friend has been a client of theirs for about 20 years– they have taken great care of her vintage VW Beetle for years, and she has always praised them for being really competent and trustworthy. They are always on time, never overselling her on extraneous stuff she doesn’t need, and bending over backwards to make sure that her vehicle is kept in great running condition and that she’s never incovenienced. They really know their stuff.
Well, I was recently in a big wreck which totaled my primary car, and my friend gave me a very generous gift certificate to get my very old second car fixed up. She won it in a Marshall Motors drawing last month — what a GREAT idea for an auto mechanic’s shop to do a drawing for free service! The sympathetic owner, January, called and asked me how I was feeling after the wreck, and promised that they’d take good care of me when I brought my second car in.
This was my first experience with Marshall Motors, as we live on the other side of town. But I can tell you, it’s worth any drive you have to make. Those folks took such amazing care of me: not only did they do significant work at their expense – even exceeding value of the certificate – to get my car back to safe running condition again, but they surprised me with all kinds of little extras I didn’t even expect: new wiper blades, a state inspection (it wasn’t due for another month), and even giving it a full wash and vacuum at the end. I was BLOWN AWAY.
It’s rare to find a mechanic you can really trust. When you find one, don’t let them go. We feel this way about our regular mechanic in Richardson (Davis Automotive) but I have to say, Marshall Motors is probably the best mechanic I’ve ever been to.
Absolutely, positively consider Marshall Mechanics next time you have anything go wrong with your car.

Marshall Motors took great care of me. When my car died in Rowlett, they came to get it – not just towed it. January made the drive and tried to work on it herself before taking it to their shop 45 minutes away. You’ll find the people at Marshall Motors to be knowledgeable, helpful, and professional in every sense of the word.
