Madison At Cedar Springs

Just wanted to share that this complex recently (as of Oct. 2012) changed its name to «Atera». Looks like the web site with this new name hasn’t come yet.

YEA… If you live here not only will the AIRPLANES from Love Field keep you awake all day and night BUT its right next to the freeway which is also VERY loud… the late fees for your rent are $ 50 the 1^st day and $ 10 a day everyday after that… so if youre late its gunna cost u A LOT!
Also, theyve changed 6 staff member since Ive been here for a mere 6 months…
Dogs cost a fortune to have here…
Hardly ANY parking…
Roaches…
Bath tubs sqeak LOUDLY…
Counters are FAKE granite top…
So…I wouldnt recommend it @ all!

Ah the Madison. I lived at this complex for almost 3 years, until just recently when BF and I bought a house… praise Cheeses!!!
Couple of things:
–They are the ones that recommended Ameritex Movers (see my review). When I went back and told them to stop recommending them to other tenants, they told me that I’m the first issue they’ve heard of and basically to shut it. Mkay. We’re off to a good start here.
–Dog friendly… for a deposit of $ 450 (doesn’t matter the size of your animal, you won’t get back). Then a $ 5 pet rent per month.
–Trash pickup M, W, F. If you leave it out early, you get fined.
–Covered parking spaces for $ 25 month. Totally worth it.
–2 Pools. However I hardly hung out there. It was like Spring Break ’99. Boys in little bikini bottoms, Zima’s and bad 80s butt rock. I mean its funny the first time, but seriously? Sometimes a girl just wants to lay in the sun…
–Community events. BBQ’s, Pool Parties… etc.
–Gated park for dogs. LOVED!
–Supposed to be a gated complex, however the gate was ALWAYS broken. Everyone got in.
–Rude Mailman… never came earlier than 6pm.
–Lots of theft around the complex… breakins…apt and cars.
–Upon move out, we paid the $ 75 for them to clean the apt. (Sidenote: we were so ready to be out of there we didn’t have energy to clean). All in all we spent over $ 900 in deposits. The only thing we got back was our prorated rent for that month. BS!!! (OH! I almost forgot. About a year before we moved out, they started renovating the apartments. They wanted us to move to another apartment and charge us more $$. Um no thanks.) So upon move out, they took OUR deposit to renovate the apartment… um what? You were going to do that anyway, why did you take our money to do this? Made me really mad. When I called about it, they said that the carpet had to be replaced and the walls had to be re-painted…ok weren’t you going to that anyway?
I mean all in all, its your typical apt complex. Nothing special. The rules you’d like them to enforce, they don’t. The rules you’d think they wouldn’t they do. Not to mention I made a few requests for them to put a doggy «trash» by my apt… since the closest one was way far. They said ok. I think I asked them to do it maybe 12 times. Nothing. I even offered to pay for it once, thinking that might get ‘em goin.
It was a great location and the office staff was eh-​ok. But honestly, I was glad to get out… no more landlords, I can make my own rules and put out my trash when I want… Brilliant.
