History

Established in 1996.

Restaurateur Todd Kerr began his career as owner of the State Club Grill & Bar in 1986, just off the doorstep of North Texas State University (now University of North Texas). Ten years later, he established Macklin’s Catering Company, a full-​service catering and event company which has been serving the Dallas and Ft. Worth area since 1996. In 2009, Kerr created the neighborhood restaurant concept of J. Macklin’s Grill, bringing both the family name and the same delicious food to the Coppell community. For those of you who remember Kerr from his NTSU days, you’ll be happy to know that you can still find those same Famous State Club Chicken Tenders on the menu at J. Macklin’s Grill!
