Luxe Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa

It’s OK but a very old hotel. I stayed there back in 2004 and after the water turned on full force, both hot and cold, in my bathroom by itself one night, I learned from the bellman, as well as the bartender, that this hotel is haunted. A colleague, who I had not yet met, had her covers pulled off of her as she slept and something grabbed and began shaking her in the dark, and she was visibly upset and terrified the next morning when we met. (She stayed up all night in the lobby our second night and refused to go to her room or any other room the hotel offered her.) Quite a bit of history with this old hotel and the hotel offered tours to learn of it’s interesting past, secret corridors on the top floor, prohibition in the 20’s, etc. Aside from that, by far not a modern hotel, I believe it’s condos now also, has a cool bar, and not a bad location.

So I didn’t actually stay here, but attended a wedding, and my friends stayed the night, and this place is FANCY. My friends got the presidential suite, and the suite that came with the terrace, so we got to see the beautiful view. I’m guessing the food we got was catered by the Stoneleigh, too, and their mushroom soup is SO GOOD. I know I’m rambling all over the place here, but I had a great experience, even as a wedding guest, which is saying a lot, considering how hectic weddings are.

I loved this hotel. Walking into it from the valet feels like pure glamor. The rooms are perfect. A small couch in a living room like area separated by the dresser/​tv stand (which rotates) into the bed area and the bathroom on the side. Loved the décor. Modern but somehow old school feel to it as well. The beds and pillows could be softer but I still managed to sleep. The only complaint with the room is that it got SUPER hot in the middle of the night both nigts we were there. I know it was cold for the southerners while I was there but 50 degrees at night does not constitiute full blast heat in a muti story building.
The bar area is nice as well. One of the bartenders could use a personality but he makes a killer Kentucky Smash so I forgave him that. It’s definitely a pricey bar but the seats are comfy and the bartenders know how to make good stiff drinks. Will definitely stay here again. The property is beautiful without being a mega hotel and the stafff is excellent.

My boyfriend took me here for a couples massage as a valentines gift this past Saturday. I get massages every month (1 – 2 per month) and I have to say the massage I got at the Spa in the Stoneleigh Hotel was the BEST massage I have EVER had!!! My boyfriend agreed about his massage as well. Not only were the masseur (Mac) and masseuse (Liz) AMAZING, the atmosphere was very soothing and relaxing. The entire staff was VERY professional and EXTREMELY nice. If you want the ABSOLUTE BEST massage in Dallas, ask for an appointment with Mac or Liz (you will not be disappointed). I cant wait for my next massage!

My husband and I fell in love again here at The Stoneleigh after 21 years of marriage!
This was just what we needed while in Dallas catching up with our son who attends college here in D — town.
We stayed here for 2 nights on a Groupon deal in 2012. The staff was friendly and welcoming with check-​in information ready for us so we were in our room in no time.
Very nice room, large bathroom with everything we needed… including comfy robes my husband fell in love with.
The «haunted hotel» reputation of this historic hotel was such a lure for me but no sighting or event to report during our stay… Sorry!
Pro’s — The staff is awesome, my spa visit with massage & hot tub soak was excellent, bar was like a 1920’s glamour & glitz mecca with great drinks & tapas. Location is a beauiful historic area of Dallas.
Con’s — AC vent was noisey

Love at first sight. That’s my relationship with this establishment. I had eyeballed it months ago… «Look! Put me up here!,» I remember exclaiming adamently to my travel coordinator months ago. The answer was that it was not in the budget.
So crafty little coupon cutting me… when I saw that I was put up in hotel that was down the highway… I looked this place up and did my magic. $ 129 for a king size room. BAM IN YOUR FACE with no magical hat or bunnies.
When I got there, I told the lovely check in attendent how excited I was to be there instead of the other hotel. I also rattled off the list of hotels I had stayed at in Dallas I am sure. She saw my excitement and upgraded me to a suite. Yes, how suite it was to be me! (Just roll with me…)
This is the perfect boutique hotel, y’all. Granted it’s valet everything, but we are in Dallas and that’s how life is here. Everything is well appointed down to the subway tile flooring and backsplash and even the molding around the toilet. Yes, the toilet. Oh, please, do weigh yourself if you need a reminder on how much of a glutton you are too. I loved the Audrey Hepburn «don’t disturb» signs even. The furniture was top notch, the staff was lovely, and the soaps were even signature from the spa. Well insulated rooms and great location within walking distance to everything hip and awesome. Even my bill came in a very nice oversized envelope under the door onto the very plush carpet.
I love this place. I want to stay here again and will be searching the interwebs for that perfect deal again. This place is the bees knees!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights a few weeks ago. Overall I would say that we were very satisfied with the stay and would stay here again. It is located in Uptown, just blocks away from great dining and nightlife.
We had some trouble checking in and out, so I would say the front desk was average at best. They confused my reservation with another guest checking in, and upon checkout there was an overnight parking charge on my bill, even though we didn’t have a car on this trip. My guess is that they had me confused with the other guest. My advice would be to double-​check your bill upon checkout, and you should be just fine.
The staff was very courteous and attentive. The hotel itself was very clean, newly renovated, and decorated nicely for the holiday season. The room was spacious, had a comfortable bed, came with free WiFi, and some of the nicest robes I have ever seen at a hotel.
As far as dining goes, room service was quick, accurate, and quite tasty. The food was perfectly prepared. We also dined Sunday early afternoon in the restaurant, and our server was top notch. Even though they only serve breakfast all day on Sunday, my wife wanted to order off the lunch menu. After checking with the kitchen, they were happy to accommodate her request. She had a burger that was perfectly cooked and some really good french fries. They also serve some of the best coffee around. It will make you forget about Starbucks.
The bar scene at night was active, but not obnoxious. The bar service was spot on, and we struck up conversations both nights with the bartenders and other patrons. I would say that it is a great place to start or end the night with a cocktail. We walked across the street to Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse and had a great late night dinner. Upon return, our nightcap at the bar was a perfect way to end the night.
The next time you are in Dallas, check this place out.

I just went to the spa for a massage and mani/​pedi. I’m giving my experience four stars because the massage was fantastic.
The mani/​pedi experience, however, left a bit to be desired. Of course, this wasn’t the fault of the technician. I’m just pretty surprised that for a $ 60 pedicure, all I received was a soak in some water and a little lotion kind of rubbed on my feet. No dead skin removal, no nail trimming or filing or shaping, in any way. Just soak, hastily rubbed on lotion, polish.
Same with the manicure.
I would never pay that much for so little service. I could have done that at home!
The spa itself is lovely and serene. Two large, jetted tubs for soaking and a rain shower. My massage was everything a massage should be. The relaxation room was very tranquil.

I went to an event here, and I probably wouldn’t have known about this place if it wasn’t for an event. The bar was well kept, and their happy hours last until 8pm. The ambience was very chic, and the staff was friendly.

After having the privilege of receiving the royal treatment at the Stoneleigh Spa — I felt compelled to share my impressive experience with their over-​the-​top nice and incredibly attentive staff. The spa itself, was of course — beautiful, quaint, warm, inviting, and cozy. The spa is decorated in warm, dark colors and offers an array of everything relaxing under the sun. But the best part had to have been the chilled out relaxation room and the Lavender over-​sized tubs for you to relax — post massage.

I just returned from a 4 night stay at this recently refurbished hotel and experienced quite a bit of the hotel so here goes:
Rooms: Charming, very spacious and nice. Bed was comfortable, nice TV, adequate desk, walk-​in closet and large bathroom. Only downside — old building and the doors do not keep any noise out.
Restaurant: Service was terrible for me. I had to ask for a menu, water and coffee all three times I ate breakfast here. This is a serious issue they need to address — the servers run around like they have no idea what they are doing and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. I ordered room service one morning because I couldn’t stand to go there again and room service didn’t bring me a fork or a knife. However, the food was great.
Bar: Service by the 2 bartenders (both guys, one was named Ashleigh and I unfortunately forget the other’s name) was fantastic. They were quick, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly — even when there were several events on the same night. Great selection of high-​end liquors and decent beer selection. Spacious patio out front that was awesome to sit on during the gorgeous Dallas weather we had. It is a bit noisy due to traffic, but hey, you’re in the city.
Front desk: The guy at the front desk was unwilling to explain things in detail and it was like pulling teeth to get info. The females were much more attentive.
Valet: These guys rock. They were fast with your vehicle and seemed happy to see you when you showed up.
Housekeeping: Good — room was always clean and restocked. I needed my suit and dress shirts pressed and they showed up in 5 mins to pick them up and were returned to me in 3 – 4 hours perfectly pressed.
Fitness room: Definitely adequate and spacious. Fresh towels and filtered water. 2 ellipticals and 3 treadmills, 2 leg machines, chest press machine and multi-​station. Best part of it — a whole rack of freeweights and 2 adjustable benches!
Ballroom/​Meeting Space: We were in the small, downstairs ballroom for an event. An old-​school feel. The staff was fantastic with setting up and service during the event. The food was FANTASTIC once again and the bartender was great.
Overall: One word — charming. The facilities were super clean and I enjoyed my experience. I would definitely book this place again.

We were invited to a party at the Penthouse. The hotel offered party guests a discounted rate if we planned to book a room with them for this event. We arrived early to have drinks in Bolla downstairs with family from out of town. We had a nice time!
Then proceeded to our family’s guest room (not the Penthouse). It was very cozy & was told it was recently renovated. I thought it was lovely! It was a corner room with TWO great views of Dallas! The décor was nice. It had a flat screen tv, sitting chairs, etc. The bathroom wasn’t huge (built in the 1920’s) but was really nice. Nice large shower & a beautiful mirror/​sink area. I read up on the history of the hotel (located in the guest book in room) and loved that it had some «history» behind it.
We finally departed the room for the party at the Penthouse. All I can say, it was beautiful, plenty of space & lots of sitting areas! However, the décor didn’t seem to flow with the same theme as the regular guest rooms or lobby area. Also, i didn’t care for the zebra carpet heading up to the terrace but just my personal preference. The TERRACE was NICE! Fantastic view of Dallas with plenty of seating on a great night! Only one issue, one small area of railing needed repair. The master bedroom was beautiful & the 2^nd bedroom was smaller but with another seating area outside of it. The bathroom to the smaller room was HUGE! I loved the size of it!!! This room looked very nice but seemed odd that it had an Asian flare which was different from the rest of the Penthouse décor.
Food servers were extremely pleasant, prompt and helpful. Bar tender was knowledgable of drinks & quick to fulfill our order.
Overall, the Penthouse was beautiful & we LOVED it!

This happens to be my favorite local-​yocal! I LOVE love LOVE the swankiness of the bar, it’s tres chic, the colors and décor Rock — loungy yet attractive enough for even the manliest of cowboys to sit on the patio, throw back some Scotch, and solve the worlds’ problems.
The bar staff is professional in a personable laid-​back way. The food is awesome; especially the Bruscetta… YUMMOSKI, I say!
Stop by before or after an event at the AA Center, you’ll be happy you did… and if you’re lucky, you’ll hit an eve when they have live music! Simply heaven!!!

This review is based on both the spa and the hotel…
My mom was very impressed with the spa services, the professionalism and friendliness of the spa staff, and the treatments. Very happy. I had bought her a package for a hotel stay/​2 spa treatments…
However, I was very disappointed with the hotel staff at the front desk. Time and time again, there was a problem. She had the certificate for the spa and hotel stay, yet they were trying to place a hold on her credit card. FOR WHAT? I had already given them MY credit card when I set up the reservation with EXPLICIT instructions stating «EVERY charge is to be charged to MY card, whether that is additional spa services, incidental charges, the restaurant, ANYTHING!»
Yet they were bothering her right after I had dropped her off.
Then I had to drive back… and by the time I had almost gotten back to the hotel, they finally ‘sorted it’ (whatever that means).
The same problems plagued the check-​out process… it was just a one-​night stay… I don’t know how things became so difficult.
I paid them around $ 450 and was hoping for her to be treated like royalty, and by the spa staff, she was. It’s just a shame that once she left the spa that everyone else was just a disappointment… they wouldn’t have been a disappointment at a one-​star or two-​star place, or even a three-​star place without a spa, but with a spa? Argh… such a letdown.
I will come back for Easter brunch this year, but will inevitably be getting her a different spa package as her gift this time around.
I sure hope they read this and realize that when people go to a hotel, especially when it’s a gift, they want to feel special. They want to feel respected. I do not think that my mother (nor I) was treated with respect by the front desk people upon arrival or checkout. I hope that since she went (late last year) that things have improved. We’ll see next time…

i didn’t use the spa, this is just based on the hotel.
the service was amazing, i checked in early without issues. they helped suggest lunch spots, gave me directions, held my bags and at check in you also receive a hand written thank you note. (a bit cheesy but still, cute touch). They even came in late in the afternoon while i was at work to close the blinds and take down the comforter and fluff pillows.
the rooms are clean and giant. design feels like elegant country.
i will for sure be back next time I’m in town for work.

This review is for the Spa. I think its a wonderful location and putting the spa down in the basement adds to the quiet tranquility you look for during treatments. The locker rooms and relaxation rooms are first rate! I think you often get what you pay for, and this place is no exception. The nail tech is fantastic and so personable! I love their big chairs that have ergonomic attachments for the tech. I didn’t have to leave the pedicure seat for my manicure!
If you want a massage you can come in early, shower, steam, robe up and drool! The place offers a full experience, serenity and privacy. That is priceless!
Be sure to stop by the Bolla bar on your way out, staff and drinks are first rate!

I’m a fan :) The staff was helpful and friendly and the room was a good size and nice. The closet was suprisingly large (I’ve never seen a full sized walk-​In closet in a hotel room before!)
This hotel had a really cool lobby area and everything was decorated very nicely. The pictures are a very accurate representation of this hotel. It’s fabulous.

We picked the Stoneleigh on a recent trip down to Dallas. Overall, we were pretty happy with our stay — great rate, amazingly cool building, charming room.
I thought the overall nightly rate was pretty great — we were able to get it for $ 130ish per night through Expedia which worked out pretty well. We picked the Stoneleigh because it just seemed to have a lot more character than your typical Radisson or Hilton. We were not disappointed! The building has been totally renovated on the inside and definitely caters to a swanky clientele. They have a really great lounge bar and chill area to grab a cocktail or glass of wine at before heading out to dinner. The BEST feature is the mural of old menus, ticket stubs, and photos of the Stoneleigh’s history featuring legends of rock, Texas, and fame that really gives the place an extra pop.
The room was very well appointed. Definitely the best feature was the bathroom which had a wonderful tiled shower and really nice complimentary toiletry selections. The room was sizzling at about 80 degrees when we arrived, but cooled off to 72 within an hour or so. While our king sized bed looked great appearance wise, I found it to be just TOO HARD and tossed and turned quite a bit.
We thought the service was really professional and good intentioned. I was not a fan of the $ 21/​night valet that didn’t have any self-​park option, but the car was always ready with a call about 10 minutes before our departure.
Overall — I thought the Stoneleigh did a great job. I just can’t give a fancy hotel above 3 stars if the bed is like a rock. They need to invest in some Heavenly Beds!

The Stoneleigh is absolutely beautiful! I stayed here the night before I got married and I felt like a little princess. Me, my mom and my maid of honor stayed in the Studio Suite with a Deluxe room right next to it, so we could walk in and out through the attached door. It was so much fun. The décor is modern Art Deco, it’s so pretty. The bathrooms are really nice, I thought it was funny that they each have a scale in them.
The day of my wedding I had a hair and make-​up artist come to our Suite. We ordered lots of room service, and had a blast. My mom used the spa to get her nails done and only had good things to say about it.
I highly recommend The Stoneleigh for a girly, night before the big day, giggling, crying, good time!

My experiences and photos (listed above) at the Stoneleigh occurred back in 2005… so please, anyone reading my review and checking out my photos, note that the hotel apparently has gone through an EXTENSIVE renovation and my opinions are reflective of a different product.

Hopefully the next time i’m in Dallas, I can once again stay at the Stoneleigh and then offer up a completely different review based on the new changes… I loved the charm and class of the hotel I experienced and am curious as to whether or not i’d feel the same. The photos look lovely though… definitely appears nicer…

At $ 300/​night, I had high expectations for the Stoneleigh.
ROOMS:
The rooms are beautiful. Modern, with red, black and grays. Service was good. However, there’s no individual coffee-​maker in the room. *And* the tv’s come on automatically, which wastes energy.
ROOM SERVICE:
I had the whole wheat toast, small pot of coffee, and fruit plate. It was good, and prompt, but the fruit was only a half cup, and equal portions of cottage cheese and carmelized pecans. Not as healthy as I’d wanted.
LOBBY/​BAR:
Very impressive. Beautiful people hang out here, and the bar is open till 1:30 or so. One negative (well, positive, depending on the individual!) is that I’m pretty sure I saw a prostitute doing her thing in the lounge. She and her client went upstairs before things got too heated, thankfully.
BATH:
Olive-​oil based, and very nice. They give you a bottle of bath scrub that is very good. I love the bath products.
One major negative is that, some mornings, there was no hot water. Well, the water was tepid at best.
SPECIAL TOUCHES:
Two chocolates on the pillow every night!
Overall, I deducted two stars because of no personal coffeemaker in the room, the no-​hot-​water one day, and I got stuck on an elevator there for 15 minutes.

We went to the newly renovated Stoneleigh Hotel Bar last Saturday night. It was really cool! I actually liked the renovations… they were modern but a little retro. There was 7 of us but there was plenty of room to sit in the big couches. The room was a little noisy with the cougar talk and «boom chick boom chick» music I like so much but not so loud that the 7 of us couldn’t hold a conversation.
Speaking of da «cougars»… this is THE place for cougar watchin’. I’ve never seen so many ½ naked 50 year olds full of collagen and silicone. Wowza!
I was actually named after the Stoneleigh hotel… my parents used to own a dry cleaner’s across the street and voila! Leigh was born! I’m glad to have my namesake lookin’ so good!
